Chapter 81: Chapter 081: Sick of Living

Yang Wenying frowned even more tightly, “The people from the Provincial Rescue Center are here too? I rember this training camp was led by our union, and the Provincial Rescue Center wasn’t involved.”

Zhou Hong chuckled with a sly flash in his eyes. “The purpose of the people from the Provincial Rescue Center might be different from yours.”

“Different?” Yang Wenying’s mind worked quickly, and she imdiately understood the hint in Zhou Hong’s words.

I heard Xu Qigang had devised a special training program; it must be for that reason he had co, right?

Since Xu Qigang wasn’t around, Yang Wenying didn’t want to keep waiting and simply asked Zhou Hong to give her a tour and then she left directly.

Zhou Hong escorted her to the door, watching as the car drove away, his smile slowly fading.

...

“Commander, what’s wrong?” The clerk shivered from his laughter.

“I’m laughing because it’s good she left; otherwise, our situation would have been even more dood.” Fortunately, he had been cunning, intentionally misleading Yang Wenying. If she knew Su Yun was here, she definitely wouldn’t have left. Whenever those two t at the compound, it had never been without conflict.

The two stood at the gate without moving, and after about ten minutes, a convoy of black jeeps sped towards them. It stopped right in front of Zhou Hong, and Xu Qigang, with his long legs, was the first to jump out, slamming the passenger door shut behind him with a loud bang.

Zhou Hong jumped with fright.

The comrade standing guard, usually unblinking, couldn’t help but throw a curious glance. Who was this daredevil, provoking their Captain Xu?

He must be tired of living.

The young guard silently made his calculations.

“Throw them into the fourth team,” Xu Qigang said abruptly and walked away.

“Yes, Captain!” His mood was bad, and even Zhou Hong didn’t dare joke around, standing erect as he responded.

From another jeep, a man got out. Zhou Hong looked astonished at Xu Qigang’s retreating figure, wondering what could have provoked him? How dare he show anger in front of his own boss?

“Zhou Hong, stop dawdling, co here!” The man opened the back seat door, signaling Zhou Hong over to help soone.

Zhou Hong stepped forward and upon seeing the bruised and swollen face in the back seat, it took him a mont to cry out in shock, “ng Ping? How did you get beaten up like this? Even your own mother wouldn’t recognize you.”

Zhou Hong secretly felt pleased, sensing an unprecedented sense of vindication. Speaking of ng Ping, he had been the local bully in their compound since childhood. Lawless, he would strut around as if he owned the skies, the ground, and everything in between. Without even a stick in his hand, he could stir up major trouble; who had he crossed today?

“Get lost!” ng Ping tried to kick at Zhou Hong, who luckily dodged quickly, or else the kick to his stomach would have done real damage.

“This is karma, huh? Serves you right!”

“Ahem, ahem…” The man coughed awkwardly. “Commander Zhou, it’s best to arrange for soone to go to the dical room now.”

Zhou Hong might have felt vindicated verbally, but he honestly didn’t dare offend this vengeful bully. He had already called for a doctor.

These second and third generations might be idle, but no one dared consider them fools.

ng Ping was taken to the dical room, and Zhou Hong grabbed Liu Chun, who looked like he was about to bolt. “Speak up, what exactly happened? Wasn’t Captain Xu supposed to go to the Provincial Rescue Center to fetch soone? How did he co back with this scoundrel?”

“More were still behind; ng Ping was injured so he ca back early,” Liu Chun’s lips twitched, realizing for the first ti that even a usually calm commander could be terrifying when angry.

“How did he get those injuries?”

“He was… beaten…” Liu Chun shafully lowered his head.

“I know he was beaten.” His eyes were not blind. “I’m asking who did it?”

“It was… it was our captain.” Liu Chun didn’t know the specifics, but he had now witnessed firsthand just how frightening the captain’s wrath could be.

Zhou Hong, realizing he couldn’t get more out of him, let Liu Chun go.
