Yan Qing originally intended to bring Xiao Yu back with him, since she was Shen Ze’s sister and his lifesaver. She had co to Beijing, surely seeking his aid.
But unexpectedly, not only did she not plan to co to him for help, but she also had her future all mapped out from the mont they t, and even suggested parting ways. Moreover, from her expression, it seed she feared he carried the plague, as if she couldn’t avoid him fast enough???
Yan Qing, sowhat displeased, glanced at her sideways, "What? Have you hidden a man at ho, making you rush back so frantically?"
"You," Xiao Yu, incensed by Yan Qing’s blunt words, had her nose nearly crooked in anger, "What kind of talk is that? It’s shaful coming from a," royal relative!
Such rudintary manners, I must have been blind to have saved such an ungrateful creature!
"You’re insulting !" Xiao Yu glared at him indignantly, unable to believe that he seed to read her mind as if he had X-ray vision.
"What a lord I am, what’s the problem?" he broke off mid-sentence.
"It’s your decent appearance only, a re façade," she retorted sarcastically, begrudgingly complinting him while inwardly despising herself for doing so.
Then, picking up a letter from Ze on the table, she turned to leave. It was the first ti Yan Qing felt so ignored, which left him sowhat frustrated.
"Did I allow you to leave? Co back here; you haven’t told , what are your plans? To buy a manor, farm the land?"
Xiao Yu, thinking she might have to tell her brother about her situation, reluctantly turned back to explain.
"I definitely plan to farm, and besides that, I am thinking of opening a noodle shop,"
When Yan Qing heard Xiao Yu planned to open a restaurant, a spark of anticipation flickered in his eyes, unexpected even to him, eagerly anticipating tasting the food she would make.
Ever since he left the island, he hadn’t tasted the delights he’d experienced there. Even now, the thought made him drool.
Now that she was right in front of him, letting her go just like that made him sowhat unwilling. Therefore,
"Why dig the soil yourself? I’ll buy you ten long-term workers; that should be more than enough. To put Ze’s mind at ease, why not co back with to my residence? After all, you are my lifesaver. It doesn’t seem right to leave you out in the wilderness. As for the shop, you can start it once you’re acquainted with the environnt in Beijing, gracefully and gradually. How’s that?"
A guard standing at the door was inwardly shocked to hear his master speak so earnestly in one breath.
He stole glances at Xiao Yu, whose plain appearance belied the charm that got their master out of bed early and waiting patiently for her here. He couldn’t underestimate the capabilities of this lifesaver.
Xiao Yu had no idea that Yan Qing’s eager invitation to his residence was primarily because he fancied the food she made.
Unfortunately, Xiao Yu was a very sensitive person, always feeling that soone of such high status wouldn’t be so kind to a commoner like herself. Thus, she defensively looked up at him.
"I can hire my own long-term workers, and I can wait to open my shop gradually, you really shouldn’t dwell on your indebtedness to . My saving you was rely incidental. I never thought to take advantage of you, so thank you for your kindness, but I am used to my independence and I doubt I could adapt to life in your residence."
Yan Qing frowned, rejected yet again. This woman certainly had character, appearing plain but seemingly harboring many secrets.
