Three days later, ng Xiuying’s parents and brother found Gong Mingxia’s house. They had received a letter and had traveled by train, arriving at their house around six or seven in the evening. Gong Mingxia and her family had just finished dinner, so after a brief greeting, she hurried to the kitchen to prepare more food.

By the way, two days ago, Cao Yuan had already returned to the military, so Aunt Wang had started eating with them since yesterday.

These past few days, during the day, she went to sell boxed lunches, and sotis Xiuying would also co to help. When the child slept, she helped, and when the child was awake, she would hold the child and stay by her side, doing her best to show gratitude. Gong Mingxia felt that such a person deserved her help.

Perhaps because she had been feeling down and had experienced a major life change, Xiuying’s breast milk was diminishing day by day. It had reached the point where she had to rely on formula to feed the child, and she decided, heartbreakingly, to wean the child.

Thus, when her family arrived, the composure Xiuying had always forcefully maintained finally collapsed in front of her parents and sister-in-law.

Through the kitchen’s glass window, Gong Mingxia noticed that Xiuying’s parents and sister-in-law were all dressed appropriately. They had brought many gifts and were very cultured; it was evident they were educated people.

Moreover, her father and brother both looked handso and dignified, and her mother and sister-in-law appeared gentle and graceful. The family’s values were apparent in small details, contrasting starkly with the Liu family, no wonder the ng family initially looked down on Liu Xueliang.

Additionally, the sister-in-law had only chatted briefly before coming to the kitchen to help her and Xiao Xiao, all the while expressing various words of gratitude.

From the conversation, Gong Mingxia learned that Xiuying’s family background was actually quite good, and she herself was a Beijing People’s University graduate. Such a brilliant child, unfortunately, was deceived by a scumbag.

Xiuying’s father was a leader in the Transportation Bureau, her mother was the director of the Finance Bureau, her brother worked in the Public Security Bureau, and her sister-in-law was a people’s teacher. Such a family was considered well-off in Beijing. What did Liu Xueliang have?

He had graduated from high school and went to the Capital to work, where he t Xiuying. Xiuying, a sheltered flower, was easily deceived by him. He stole her ID card and ran away from ho, going two years without contact. Heaven only knows how worried their family must have been, and if not for a letter saying she had married Liu and gone back to his hotown, they would have thought she was abducted.

But in reality, how was this different from being kidnapped?

At first, ng’s parents were very angry. They said to let her fend for herself, but after half a year, their anger dissipated. However, Xiuying still didn’t contact her family, causing her parents anxiety and sleepless nights until the phone call a few days ago; their hearts, held in suspense for two years, finally were put at rest.

Her parents even cried, saying that as long as she was alright, they wouldn’t pursue her past mistakes. They just hoped she would co ho, whether divorced or with her child.

In the end, the sister-in-law also had tears in her eyes; it seed that these two years had been hard for everyone in the ng family, including Xiuying herself.

Watching from inside as Xiuying knelt in front of her parents and brother in the living room, continually repenting, Gong Mingxia silently sighed to herself.

Indeed, in this world, other than our parents, who else truly cares for you?

The only ones who would never betray you might just be your parents.

Of course, this can be said of the vast majority of parents, though there are so extrely selfish ones too. But seeing their family reunion, Gong Mingxia felt genuinely moved from the depths of her soul.
