By the ti they rushed to the classroom, there wasn’t much ti to talk before they moved into the roll call phase, which lasted until past 12 o’clock. After class, she finally seized the opportunity. Once everyone else had left, she went up to him and hugged his neck, "I’ve thought about it over and over, and I can’t help but feel you did it on purpose, Zhou Mo, didn’t you?"

Zhou Mo, trapped under her armpit, initially resisted a bit but eventually just chuckled softly, "In that situation, what reason do you think would have been most appropriate? I thought about it and couldn’t find a better reason that could both answer the teacher and declare my ownership. Why not seize the opportunity?"

Yiyi’s face flushed, "How dare you say that? Did you even ask for my opinion?"

Zhou Mo, uncharacteristically serious, replied, "If you can find a better guy than , I’ll bless you. How about that?"

Yiyi’s face instantly turned constipated, "You know that’s impossible."

"Exactly, I also think it’s impossible. I’m so excellent, being with you is a win for you, how could you dislike that? Why don’t you just accept reluctantly?"

Yiyi: "..." She stomped her foot, turned around angrily, and Zhou Mo, watching her reaction, pleasantly curled up the corners of his mouth. Yes, today was indeed a good day.

Because she was in a bad mood, Yiyi chose the Lotus Garden Restaurant and ordered Dongpo pork elbow and golden pork belly, "Not even one vegetable dish, can your stomach handle that?"

"I want to eat myself into a fatty, and then when you despise , I’ll stick to you and annoy you to death."

"Yiyi, aren’t you being childish? Not to ntion the amount of exercise at Tsinghua and my supervision, do you think you can really get fat? Not only will we run exercises in the evening, but you also need to run with at night. So, we’ll order whatever you like to eat. This sester is free, next sester I’ll be your wallet, you can eat whatever you want. My mom, understanding my intentions from the start, gave a living expense for two. So Yiyi, my whole family has accepted you, do you think you have any other choice?"

Yiyi incredulously looked up, "What did you say? Say that again?"

"This is why I objected to my mom wanting to make you her goddaughter. Why be a goddaughter when you could be a daughter-in-law?"

Yiyi’s lips twitched, twitched until she was out of energy, her eyes beca red, she tried to pick up the at but couldn’t manage it, and finally, Zhou Mo picked up the at and put it in her bowl, "Be good, let take care of you in the future."

"Pfft, shaless, you’re spending Auntie’s money."

"Yeah, temporarily, I’ll have to pay it all back eventually. Plus, I plan to apply for a scholarship this sester. With the scholarship, my mom won’t have to worry about us anymore. Also, I think you can teach stock trading. I didn’t expect you, seeming not too bright, to actually have a talent for it. Why didn’t you study finance initially?"

"Are you insulting or complinting ?"

"Can’t you hear I’m complinting you?"

"How much is the scholarship? How do you get it?"

"There are over one hundred different types of scholarships in the school, how could I explain them all here? Later, I’ll take you to learn more about them in detail. Are you planning to pursue a dual degree?"

Yiyi thought about her promise to Professor Guan, nodded, "Yes, Professor Guan over at the Fine Arts departnt waived my tuition fee. He said I could attend classes according to the schedule. We have no classes in the afternoon, but there are classes over there, so I need to attend."

"I also want to pursue a dual degree."

Yiyi imdiately understood his aning, "Physics?" After getting his affirmative nod, she couldn’t help but snort.

"Still can’t get over it, right?"

"These four years we shouldn’t waste ti or think about working part-ti to earn money, nor should we waste our ti on other things. Let’s focus on our degrees, make ourselves better—our scholarships should cover our tuition and living expenses each year."

Yiyi pouted, "How could I possibly get one?"

"Why can’t you get one? One-third of the students get scholarships every year. Do you think you’ll be worse than them? Although you’re not good at other things, I think you can definitely get a scholarship from the Fine Arts departnt. I’m most confident about that. As for our side, I’ll help you. If not the first, second or third is also feasible."

Zhou Mo changed the subject smoothly, making Yiyi fall into the big picture he painted, unable to extricate herself.

Applying for a dual degree required filling out forms. In the afternoon, Yiyi and Zhou Mo handed the application forms to the counselor, who would then submit them to the professors of the respective departnts.

After a rather filling al, Yiyi went back to her dorm to grab so books and hurried downstairs without chatting with her roommates. Zhou Mo dropped her off at the Fine Arts departnt, and then he went to the Physics departnt.

Tsinghua has six classes every day, two in the morning from eight to twelve fifteen, and three in the afternoon from one-thirty to five, followed by club activities from five to six-thirty. Evening classes run from seven-thirty to around ten. Though there are six classes, typically only three classes would be considered a full day, but for soone like Zhou Mo and Yiyi, who planned to pursue dual degrees, their schedules were likely to be packed.

What’s more daunting is that each sester has social practice courses, also known as club activities, which are also credit-based. So, to get club activity points, one must join a club; otherwise, there’s no bonus for comprehensive assessnts!

After much consideration, Yiyi joined a swimming club—to stay fit—and a calligraphy club—to enrich herself. With these two, her social activity points should be fine.

Zhou Mo chose basketball and street dancing, treating both purely as physical activities. He chose two clubs as a precaution.

After all, so clubs might seem legitimate, but once you join you find out they just eat, drink, and chat or flirt, which are aningless. It’s better to join two clubs for the sake of convenience.

With clubs and dual subjects to pursue, the only tis they had to date were probably during als and library visits.

Ever since Zhou Mo openly confessed his feelings, Yiyi started to sowhat distance herself from him (actually, she just didn’t know how to interact with him), worried, Zhou Mo sought help from his mom. Aunt Mu personally called her, sharing many stories about how persistent her son had been during high school, indirectly easing her underlying anxiety.

"I and your uncle have always liked you, we’ve seen Zhou Mo’s affection for you all along. So Yiyi, if you don’t mind, why not try dating him? He’s just not good at expressing himself and doesn’t know how, you ignored him, and our usually proud son actually called seeking help—can you imagine how much he cares about you?"
