"Patricia, co et Alex, my protege," Victoria called out, waving over a striking woman with silver-streaked auburn hair and the bearing of soone accustod to command.
Senator Hamilton approached with the asured stride of political authority, but Alex’s enhanced senses caught the subtle signs... the way her pace slowed as she got closer, how her professional smile softened into sothing more personal.
"So You’re Alexander Hale," she said, extending her hand. "Victoria’s told remarkable things about your work."
When Alex took her hand, he held it just a fraction longer than professional courtesy demanded, his Golden Hands skill sending subtle pleasure through the contact.
"Senator, the honor is mine. Your work on the Ard Services Committee has been inspiring."
Patricia’s pupils dilated slightly, her grip tightening almost imperceptibly. "Please, call Patricia. And I’d love to hear more about your environntal initiatives. Perhaps we could discuss them over dinner soti? I find I do my best thinking in... intimate settings."
Victoria’s arm tightened around Alex’s, but her smile remained perfectly composed.
"And this is Diana Morrison," Victoria continued the circuit, "she runs the Morrison Foundation..."
"Oh my," Diana interrupted, her hand going to her throat as she took in Alex’s appearance. "Victoria, you didn’t ntion your protege was so..." She paused, searching for a word that wouldn’t sound inappropriate. "...charismatic."
Diana was petite, blonde, with the kind of nervous energy that suggested soone channeling frustrated passion into charitable work. Her husband, Judge Morrison, was visible across the room, buried in legal shop talk and completely ignoring his wife.
"Mrs. Morrison, your foundation’s work with disadvantaged youth resonates deeply with ," Alex said, his enhanced charm making every word feel personally aningful. "Having been on scholarship myself, I understand how transformative the right support can be."
Diana’s breath caught. "You were on scholarship? But you seem so... refined."
"Sotis the right ntor changes everything," Alex replied, his gaze briefly eting Victoria’s. "The right guidance can transform soone completely."
Diana’s hand fluttered to Alex’s arm. "I’d love to hear more about your experiences. The foundation always needs... hands-on advisors who truly understand our mission."
Elena Torres commanded attention even in this room full of power players. Recently divorced from a pharmaceutical executive, she’d rebuilt her political career on fierce independence and had a reputation for... acquiring talented young n for her staff.
"Victoria, you’ve been hiding this one," Elena said, her accent lending sultry undertones to her words. "Alex, isn’t it? I represent the fastest-growing demographic in Arican politics."
She moved closer than conversation required, her perfu exotic and expensive. "Tell , what’s your position on... immigration reform?"
The question was innocent, but the way she asked it, combined with how her eyes traveled down his body made it clear they weren’t discussing policy.
"I believe in welcoming those who bring valuable... assets to our country," Alex replied, his Silver Tongue Protocol making the words carry layers of aning.
Elena’s smile turned predatory. "I like a man with flexible positions. Perhaps you’d be interested in joining my staff? I offer very... comprehensive benefits packages."
"Elena, you’re being subtle as always," Sarah Chen laughed, stepping forward from where she’d been quietly observing the interactions. The Pacific Trade Ambassador had been content to watch Victoria’s introductions, but now her diplomatic curiosity was piqued. "Mr. Hale, I handle billions in trade agreents. Victoria’s description of your environntal work sounds... promising."
Jessica Goldman, who had been practically vibrating with impatience during the formal introductions, finally burst forward. "Okay, my turn! I’m Jessica, banking dynasty disappointnt and professional rebel." She grinned at Alex. "And honestly? You’re way more interesting than the trust fund zombies my family keeps parading around."

The laughter and chatter of nearby guests swelled around them, but Victoria caught the way the other won were watching from across the room. With a light touch to Alex’s arm, she leaned in. "Co. There’s a better place for this conversation."
She guided Alex to a secluded corner where a plush circular booth awaited. The lighting was softer here, the conversations more intimate, away from the main fundraiser’s political theater.
"Ladies, I believe you all wanted to get to know Alex better," Victoria said, settling beside him with proprietorial grace.
Patricia took the seat directly across, her military bearing softening in the more relaxed setting. "Much better. I find the real conversations happen away from the microphones."
Diana slid in with feline grace, her foundation work having taught her to read people quickly. "Victoria, darling, you’ve been holding out on us. Where exactly did you find such a... specin?"
"Christ, Diana, just say he’s gorgeous and move on." Elena fixed Alex with an appraising stare. "The question is, what are your intentions with our friend here?"
Sarah settled with diplomatic precision. "Elena, perhaps we should let them breathe before the interrogation?"
Jessica bounced into the last spot, clearly the most relaxed of the group. "Oh please, we’re all thinking it. Victoria’s been glowing for weeks, and now we see why."
The champagne flowed, and the conversation grew bolder.
"Seriously though," Diana leaned forward, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, "Victoria, how did you manage to capture such a diamond? The rest of us have been settling for cubic zirconia for years."
Patricia’s laugh was surprisingly warm. "Diana’s not wrong. Most n our age are either married, boring, or both."
"Or politicians," Elena glanced toward Victoria with a smirk, "which is worse than both combined."
Alex’s eyes stayed politely on the conversation, but under the table his focus was entirely elsewhere.
[Mini-Task: Seduce every woman at this table. Leave each one aching for you long after the night ends.
Reward: 1,000 CP for each conquest.]
"Mmm... you’re going to enjoy this one, darling." Lilith’s velvet voice purred in his mind, every syllable dripping with mischief.
"You won’t even have to try. They’re already halfway yours. Just breathe... and watch them fall."
_____
Under the table, Alex felt a subtle pressure against his leg. A stockinged foot had sohow found its way between his thighs, applying gentle but unmistakable pressure.
Elena’s gaze was casual at first, until her toes brushed sothing that made her eyes widen in surprise. For a split second, her perfectly composed mask faltered, the shock flickering across her face like a crack in porcelain.
Alex caught it imdiately. His lips curled into a slow, knowing smirk, his eyes locked on hers as if to say now you know. The tension between them thickened, invisible but almost tangible, the air charged with the unspoken ga they were suddenly playing.
Alex’s enhanced reflexes allowed him to remain perfectly composed, though Victoria noticed the slight shift in his posture.
"Elena," Victoria’s voice carried a warning edge, "behaving yourself?"
"Always," Elena replied sweetly, though her foot pressed more firmly against him before withdrawing. "Just getting... comfortable."
Jessica giggled. "Oh my God, Elena, you’re terrible!"
"What? I’m recently divorced. I’m entitled to a little fun."
The tension at the table was electric, each woman clearly attracted to Alex but respecting Victoria’s claim, mostly.
"You know what this calls for?" Elena announced suddenly, her eyes bright with mischief. "Dancing. Real dancing. Not that stuffy ballroom nonsense they’re doing out there."
"Here?" Sarah looked around at the formal setting.
"God no," Elena waved dismissively. "Victoria, don’t you still have access to the private salon upstairs? The one with the sound system?"
Victoria’s eyes lit up with understanding. "The penthouse level. Jas won’t give his speech for another hour..."
Patricia checked her watch with practiced precision. "Exactly fifty-three minutes, to be precise."
Diana clapped her hands together. "Perfect! Ladies, shall we show Alex how the real power players unwind?"
