The verdict rippled through the assembly, creating waves of different emotions, yet remarkably, no one looked truly disapppointed.

Marcus slumped in his chair, the tension finally leaving his shoulders.

A formal warning... that was all.

He had escaped with barely a slap on the wrist when it could have been complete expulsion and criminal charges.

He finally exhaled, shoulders dropping. Tyler and Robert closed in protectively.

"Just a warning," Tyler whispered. "We got away with it."

Marcus smiled. Thin. Grim. Satisfied. His family’s influence had worked exactly as expected.

William and Brad exchanged looks of profound relief, silently thanking all Seven Guardian Gods.

One month suspension felt like a gift from heaven compared to what could have happened.

’If we’d told them the real story,’ William thought, wiping away the last of his tears, ’imdiate expulsion would have been the least of our problems.’

The truth was so much worse than their fabricated version. People would have despised them for going to such lengths to fra innocent students.

The hatred would have been overwhelming. It would have been impossible to stay in college, even if they weren’t directly expelled.

And most importantly, they would have lost Marcus’s promised miracle cure.

Without it, they faced months of pain, treatnt, specialists, and endless therapy. With it, they could walk away almost whole.

Marcus’s word was their lifeline. Betraying him ant not just exposure... it ant condemning themselves to suffer through every broken bone and torn muscle.

They had chosen the lesser truth and gotten away with it. The relief was overwhelming.

Miranda was different.

Pierce’s verdict still echoed in her ears, a relentless reminder of his bias, negligence, and readiness to ruin innocent students. Yet, despite it all, a tightness gripped her chest, and tears welled unbidden in her eyes.

She looked at Pierce for a long mont, watching as the weight of his professional destruction settled on his shoulders.

There was sothing in his expression... not defeat, but almost relief. As if this outco had been inevitable, perhaps even welco.

Their eyes t briefly across the chamber. Pierce’s smile returned... genuine, almost grateful.

He nodded slightly at her, a gesture of acknowledgnt between two people who understood the ga better than anyone else in the room.

Miranda blinked back the moisture in her eyes, gathered her papers with practiced efficiency, and quietly left the chamber.

Throughout the gallery, faculty mbers nodded approvingly at the verdicts. Justice had been served.

The innocent were protected, the guilty faced consequences, and the corrupt official was removed.

Who had initially supported the accusations against Alex now felt vindicated in their change of heart.

Those who had always believed in his innocence felt their faith restored in the system.

Alex sat frozen, the verdict echoing in his head. Across the table, Mike let out a sharp laugh that turned into a shaky grin, while Danny slumped back, dragging a hand over his face like he’d been holding his breath for weeks.

Relief rippled between them, raw and unfiltered.

But Alex’s eyes didn’t linger on them for long. They shifted to Marcus... relaxed, smirking faintly, untouched. The real culprit, sitting smug in the glow of his family’s shadow.

Alex’s jaw tightened. He was glad Mike and Danny were free of this nightmare. They’d been dragged through hell already. But Marcus? That was unfinished business.

In a strange twist of fate, everyone in the chamber seed to have gotten exactly what they could realistically hope for.

As the chamber continued to empty, Dr. Tisha Wells approached with several faculty mbers in tow.

Her professional deanor had softened into sothing warr, more personal.

"Alex, Mike, Danny," she said, reaching them first. "I wanted to personally congratulate you boys on your complete vindication."

Mike stood quickly, extending his hand. "Dr. Wells, we can’t thank you enough. Your testimony... it was incredible."

Danny nodded earnestly. "You really stood up for us when it mattered most."

"These young n have shown remarkable resilience throughout this ordeal," Dr. Wells announced to the small group of faculty trailing behind her. "The university should be proud to have students of such character."

Professor Harris from the Economics departnt stepped forward. "Alex, your character record speaks for itself. We never doubted your integrity."

As the congratulations continued, Tisha moved closer to Alex, lowering her voice while the others chatted with Mike and Danny.

She leaned in, her voice low enough for only him.

"Co to my office."

She didn’t wait for a reply. Her hand brushed his sleeve, then she turned, heels clicking softly against the floor as she walked away.

Alex’s eyes followed her, a flicker of heat and curiosity twisting in his chest as the crowd closed back in around him.

Alex’s eyes swept the chamber one final ti, searching for Miranda’s familiar figure. She was nowhere to be seen.

’She probably had sothing urgent to handle,’ he thought, making a ntal note.’ I’ll thank her properly later. She deserves more than just a handshake.’

Mike clapped him on the shoulder. "Co on, man. Let’s get out of here before soone changes their mind."

Danny was already moving toward the door, eager to escape the suffocating atmosphere of formal proceedings.

"Fresh air sounds amazing right now."

The three friends made their way through the chamber doors, stepping from the oppressive institutional atmosphere into the late afternoon sunlight.

The mont they stepped outside, a wave of voices crashed over them. Students pressed forward, eyes wide with curiosity.

"There they are!" soone shouted.

"What happened in there?" another demanded.

"Are they guilty?"

"Did they really attack those guys?"

Questions volleyed from all directions, a living wall of speculation that made Alex’s chest tighten. He forced a steadying breath, sensing the weight of hundreds of staring eyes.

A senior student, Clara, pushed through the throng, raising her voice. "Professor Sterling said the official results will be posted on the notice board in thirty minutes!"

"Thirty minutes? Can’t you tell us now?" soone called out impatiently.

Clara shrugged, lowering her voice conspiratorially. "University policy. Official results go through proper channels. But... from what I could see, those three don’t look like they’re in trouble."

Murmurs rippled through the crowd. Eyes flicked back to Alex, Mike, and Danny, searching for any sign of guilt or relief.

Alex felt a strange mix of liberation and tension. They were free... but the circus wasn’t over yet.
