A table of New Year’s Eve dinner, just the mother and daughter, they ate happily, not as desolate as imagined.
Upon seeing Ah Chen, Wei nglan actually greeted her proactively, and Shen Tong seed much more lively.
Oh, Shen Tong’s teeth have been mostly treated. They can’t compare to her original teeth, but this result is the best for her. Fortunately, the other teeth are fine, as long as they are well cared for, there’s no problem.
Ah Chen heard a lot about Wei nglan from Ding Haiying. With her daughter’s dental issue resolved, as a mother, Wei nglan couldn’t let go of her son. She said she was heartbroken back then, but after all, he was her own flesh and blood. However, the Shen Family treated that boy like a treasure, and having fallen out with Wei nglan like this, they wouldn’t stop her from seeing him, but it’s impossible for Wei nglan to manage that child. The boy was pampered growing up, and Wei nglan, being the biological mother, was always at the bottom of the family’s food chain. Who knows what the Shen Family said, but he completely disregarded Wei nglan.
Wei nglan tried to visit a few tis, but the child cursed at her, and her heart eventually grew cold. Although she still visits occasionally, she no longer has much hope.
Shen Chi got married.
He married a girl who ca from elsewhere to work. Her appearance is quite ordinary, and Shen Chi is not keen on it, but she is the best he can find for now. There’s no choice; the local girls, upon hearing the gossip about Shen Chi and the current situation of the Shen Family, are not willing to see him at all.
He ran away during his own wedding, and his siblings don’t seem to be doing well; so are separated, so divorced. Unless soone hits their head with a club, no one would marry Shen Chi. Unless, of course, Shen Chi becos extrely wealthy, then many people would overlook it for the sake of money.
"I heard Shen Ping went to find Lou Hong to remarry," Ding Haiying shared the latest gossip with Ah Chen again, "Lou Hong is a stubborn one and wouldn’t agree no matter what."
"Wasn’t Shen Ping seeing soone else?" Ah Chen asked, knowing she could hear so gossip in this place.
Ding Haiying said, "Not suitable, that man also cos with children, hinting at Shen Ping to buy things for his kids, even when going out shopping, he expects Shen Ping to buy him water, it’s laughable. Not to ntion, Shen Ping is soone who holds money tightly and wasn’t fooled; she scolded him and drove him away. Then that man ca back and pulled out a bill of money spent during their ti together, asking her to split it."
"It’s a wonder these two even got together."
Ah Chen understood; such stories are not uncommon.
"I see Lou Hong doesn’t really want to find anyone else, sotis you see him alone, I don’t know what to say." Ding Haiying shook her head and sighed.
This was hard for Ah Chen to comnt on, everyone’s fate is different, and though many tis it can be in your hands, due to various reasons, it’s hard to take that step.
"And another thing, Shen Xun was entangled with a woman from the factory and lived in the couple’s dormitory. The matter blew up and it was Jiang Hongying who caused the commotion. Guess what happened?"
Ah Chen realized her mother really liked gossip; she would complain about those nosy people but never missed a piece of gossip sent her way, sharing it with her as well.
Boss Ding had more people under her now, and life had indeed beco more leisurely.
A bit curious about this matter, she asked, "What’s the story?"
"What’s the story? This man found a woman, and if this woman had so tricks, wouldn’t she take so from his pocket? Moreover, already entwined with Shen Xun, she must have had that kind of intention. I heard this woman knew how to charm people and had so looks, charming Shen Xun into a daze, to the point where he wasn’t willing to hand over his salary to Jiang Hongying." Ding Haiying shared the gossip, "The Shen Family isn’t really short of money; Shen Mingqiang is really hardworking, but Jiang Hongying wants to hold onto everything."
"Jiang Hongying didn’t give up, so she went to the factory to make a scene."
"After making a scene, she went to find Wei nglan, asking her to control her man. Tsk, after so many years, she finally rembers her honest daughter-in-law." Ding Haiying sneered, "But the current Wei nglan doesn’t fall for that, she went straight to Shen Xun and handed over the divorce certificate. Because it got so big, Shen Xun must have been impulsive, plus he never really valued Wei nglan."
"The two finally got divorced," Ding Haiying sighed, "I don’t know if it’s good for Shen Xun, but recently Wei nglan seems to be doing well. She even has people pursuing her, but she doesn’t seem interested. She focuses on saving money, caring for her daughter, and bought a house in the county, a two-bedroom one-bedroom, paying the down paynt, it seems like there’s hope."
"Shen Tong is promising, she scored well this year and applied to a provincial school, probably worried about leaving Wei nglan alone."
Ah Chen’s lips curled upward: "That’s great."
"Now the Shen Family is a complete ss."
"Shen Chi tried his hand at business several tis, but in the end, he resigned to fate. He really thought business would be easy," Ding Haiying rolled her eyes, "such wishful thinking."
The Lv Family managed to rise entirely due to a clever and capable daughter.
Even with that, there were nurous pitfalls along the way that they managed to avoid thanks to the daughter; otherwise, they wouldn’t have known how much they might have lost. Eventually, they gained experience and gradually improved.
Ti flies, and no matter how people outside break up or get back together, it had nothing to do with Ah Chen and Xie Yan.
He was still the one who looked forward to getting off work early every day, rushing ho at the first opportunity.
This made his employees particularly fond of this boss. How many bosses would let their employees finish early and go ho early, rather than delay affairs at work?
"Really don’t want to work anymore." In the morning, Xie Yan hugged Ah Chen, nuzzling her face, "Sister Ah Chen, I really don’t want to work. I let them clock in and out on ti, why are they so good at getting business, even more active than the employees in North City."
"I just want to stay at ho."
Ah Chen ruffled his hair, the texture still nice: "Good, go quickly, staying ho makes everyone dislike you."
"So many employees are depending on you to eat. If you don’t go, what about them? Whether or not they can support their family and buy a house depends on you. Why do you think they are so proactive?"
Xie Yan: "..."
He’s only ever heard of bosses using employees to live in villas and drive luxury cars, so why is it different for him?
"Get up, I’ll take you there."
Xie Yan kissed her twice and got up quickly.
Before long, the two walked into the garage, and Ah Chen drove to Yuan Zhicheng’s private kitchen, where they had breakfast before heading to the company.
At the underground garage, company employees saw Ah Chen’s car and quickly pulled out their phones: "The boss is arriving soon, he’s in the underground garage."
Company Employee 1: So early? Unlike my boss who delays coming in and rushes out after work.
Company Employee 2: What’s going on?
Company Employee 3: To celebrate the boss being so active today, I decided to go out and et clients now, aiming to get more orders.
Company Employee 4: Boss: No need to be so active, thank you.
The employee who shared the news initially: Sister Lv brought the boss in, haha!
All company employees: Oh! Just what I thought, why would the boss like coming to work. But the boss must co to work, otherwise, how can I buy my house and car?
i Li has returned.
Looking at the developnt of her hotown, she was sowhat stunned, even lost.
She was still dressed elegantly, but standing in her hotown, looking at the people coming and going, and those buildings, she suddenly felt a sense of finely crafted rusticity.
Over the years, she would send things, wire money, write letters to her elderly mother, and later make phone calls.
The elderly mother did ntion the changes in her hotown a couple of tis, but living in Hong Kong and enjoying a good life, she never thought her hotown could compare to Hong Kong.
Returning to the mainland, she was amazed at the significant change, realizing that even Hong Kong no longer had an advantage by comparison.
But upon arriving in her own hotown, the change was even greater, sothing she couldn’t quite accept.
