Back ho, Jiang Tianqi was still slightly shaken; the police were thoughtful and arranged for a female officer to accompany her, knowing she lived alone; otherwise, she really wouldn’t have dared to return.

She touched her sowhat icy face; the sensation was very real.

It seed she really was saved by a cat. If the cat hadn’t shown up in ti, she might have died, right? Jiang Tianqi’s scalp tingled.

In the middle of the night, she posted on her social dia: A cat saved .

In the morning, Jiang Tianqi’s friends saw her post, liked it, but also asked what happened. She replied: I was really saved by a cat.

It was still the tabby cat she wanted to pet.

The cat remained aloof, not fond of people.

When it saw soone co to help her, it turned and left without a trace of reluctance.

Such a cool cat! And so intelligent.

She explained her situation to her boss and took two days off. Mainly, her work was already complete, so getting this ti off was rather easy.

Jiang Tianqi rushed into the pet store: "Boss, the most expensive cat treats, freeze-dried cat snacks, let see!"

Holding a pile of cat treats, cat biscuits, freeze-dried snacks, Jiang Tianqi wandered around the neighborhood, owing, checking various corners, feeling secretly amused.

Ah Chen lay outside a window of a resident’s house, basking in the sun.

Looking down at Jiang Tianqi’s face full of distress and disappointnt, she felt like laughing.

She didn’t love cat treats.

She didn’t even love food, let alone cat treats.

[But she seems to be always looking for you, host. If you don’t show up, she’ll probably search all day. She really seems persistent.] said 997.

Ah Chen glanced down; indeed, very persistent.

She leaped down quickly, appearing in front of Jiang Tianqi.

Jiang Tianqi exclaid happily: "Xiao Huahua! You finally ca out. You heard calling you, right? I’ve been looking for you all day. Were you sleeping or out playing? I bought lots of yummy snacks for you, co and eat!"

She opened a can, trying to lure the kitten in front of her, hoping to pet it.

The entrusted cat wouldn’t be fooled, and Ah Chen certainly wouldn’t.

"Sigh, can I keep you?" Jiang Tianqi asked.

Ah Chen swiftly jumped onto the first-floor window, followed by the second floor, then darted to another place, disappearing from view, leaving Jiang Tianqi with a cold back.

Jiang Tianqi: ...

Why did it run so fast!

She wasn’t entirely poor, wasn’t following her to live a good life better?

It’s said that tabby cats love freedom and can’t be confined, it’s true then.

"These are all for you. You’re so smart; you’ll surely tear them open, right? I’ll just leave them here for you to take." Realizing she couldn’t pet the kitten, Jiang Tianqi didn’t force it and left the items, then walked away.

Once she left, Ah Chen jumped down again, grabbed the bag, and ran.

Sensing the joyful gaze behind her, she didn’t turn back. If she didn’t take it, Jiang Tianqi would probably wander around half a day here.

She doesn’t eat these.

She’ll divide them among other cats.

After dividing the items, Ah Chen found a comfortable spot to continue sunbathing.

Police ca looking for Jiang Tianqi, informing her of the latest news; turns out the person caught that night was a repeat offender; he had hard several girls, and none survived.

Jiang Tianqi felt extrely fortunate; this person was caught and surely wouldn’t have the chance to co out again.

Then the police told her about the cat stepping on the guy’s balls, crushing them.

Jiang Tianqi was amused and speechless, saying: "Such an intelligent cat."

The police also felt that the cat was the most intelligent they’d ever seen.

Regarding the cat being from the neighborhood, Jiang Tianqi didn’t say much, fearing soone might harm the cat.

Her life returned to calm. For safety, she bit the bullet and bought a beater car because she really couldn’t bear to move away. When she drove back, as long as she didn’t open the door, if similar things occurred, the other party couldn’t do anything to her.

Whenever she had ti in the neighborhood, she owed around; Ah Chen couldn’t be bothered to pay her much attention.

Only occasionally when annoyed, would she appear in front of her.

"Do you also like that tabby cat?" Zheng Hongfeng asked.

Jiang Tianqi replied sheepishly: "Yes, it looks so cool."

It seed this granny also liked it; occasionally, when Xiao Huahua appeared, she’d constantly take photos with her phone.

"It’s an adorable little cat." Zheng Hongfeng added regretfully, "It’s just that I’ve never touched it once."

Jiang Tianqi sighed; that was true for her too.

Their eyes t with a smile, actually becoming familiar.

Zheng Hongfeng found that recently the tabby cat appeared in front of her more often, just still untouchable.

Until one day, indoors, she suddenly fell, becoming sowhat confused, able to mumble so sounds but not loudly; her phone was placed inside, and she couldn’t move at all. An overwhelming sense of helplessness erged, as if she felt she might die today.

At this mont, she vaguely saw a small silhouette dash inside, followed by so commotion at her room’s door, then her familiar phone fell in front of her eyes, even dialing an ergency number.

She froze, and when it connected on the other side, she quickly held back the dizziness to report her address and situation, then lay on the floor waiting, already lacking much strength.

Ah Chen checked Zheng Hongfeng’s condition; the issue wasn’t serious.

The ambulance arrived quickly, and Zheng Hongfeng was saved.

The first thing after waking up, she said: "It was the cat that dialed the ergency number for !"

She was saved by the tabby cat.

But no one believed her; they thought she might have fallen confused.

Her accomplished children were quite worried, discussing how to take care of their mom—whether to bring her to live with them or hire a nanny.

Zheng Hongfeng stated she wouldn’t go anywhere; she wanted to live here.

If she went sowhere else, she wouldn’t see the cat.

That stubborn look left her children helpless, so they hired a caretaker and installed surveillance in the living room so they could check anyti.

This ti, Zheng Hongfeng wasn’t headstrong; since her spouse passed away so years ago, lacking soone to talk to left her a bit lonely.

Jiang Tianqi visited her, heard her talk, and said: "Granny Zheng, I believe you. Was it Xiao Huahua?"

"Yes, it was Xiao Huahua." Zheng Hongfeng felt relieved, pulling Jiang Tianqi with a smile, "Last ti, it saved you too, didn’t it?"

This thing, she only knew afterward.

Nowadays in the neighborhood, few acquaintances remain; everyone keeping to themselves, maybe living for many years without knowing their neighbors.

Even though it’s an old neighborhood, the familiar faces have diminished.

So left for better places, renting out their houses here, making it quite transient.

Because of the cat, the elderly and the young beca more familiar, occasionally dining together, celebrating holidays or events, adding so cheer to the solitude they both shared.

Later, when Jiang Tianqi’s lease expired, she rented Zheng Hongfeng’s apartnt. Originally, Zheng didn’t want to charge rent, but Jiang thought it would cause instability in their relationship; it was better to settle things clearly.

After this, when returning ho late from work, she could always eat hot als instead of opting for random takeout.

When Zheng Hongfeng had minor ailnts, Jiang Tianqi would buy dicine for her and, when possible, accompany her for checkups, achieving mutual support.

Spring passed, autumn ca, and three years swiftly flew by.

Before daybreak, Ah Chen ca to the window of a family living on the seventh floor of Building 2, Unit 3 in the neighborhood.

Two households on the seventh floor, all belonging to this family, totaling six people.

The elderly Jiang Yingfeng and Wei Jianhua couple lived in one apartnt, their son Jiang Chengle with his wife Dong Jiaxi and their twin children lived next door.

The two elders were retired, usually they looked after the children and household; the family lived harmoniously.

As dawn broke, soone knocked on Jiang Yingfeng and Wei Jianhua’s apartnt door.
