Now reading: Chapter 204: Victim: The Little Girl Who Had Her Ransom Reje from She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!, a Sci-fi novel by Rong 11.

The little girl’s face, hair, and body were covered in mud.

Zheng Chengfeng and Qu Man realized she had crawled out of the mud pit.

Wasn’t she dead? She had been smothered to death.

After taking the money, they smothered her to death and then buried her in a pit in the cave. From the start, they never intended for Jiang Ying to make it back alive.

Therefore, when they snatched Jiang Ying, they didn’t hide much.

The two families were very familiar with each other, and Jiang Ying was completely unguarded against them, so she went with them easily.

Dou Jia asked, "Yingying, did you tell Mommy who took you away?"

She already sensed sothing was wrong and followed Ah Chen’s gaze towards Zheng Chengfeng and Qu Man behind them. Although both tried hard to keep their expressions normal, they were still different. Moreover, Jiang Ying’s appearance had such a significant impact on them that they were completely scared.

Jiang Zhengjun was also scrutinizing the two of them, waiting for Ah Chen’s answer, even assuming a defensive stance.

"It was Uncle Zheng who took , and Aunt Qu was in the car. They told Mommy was waiting for ," Ah Chen repeated Jiang Ying’s experience, "They had picked up before, so I went with them."

Dou Jia and Jiang Zhengjun’s faces were full of grief. Yes, previously Zheng Chengfeng and his wife occasionally helped pick up Yingying several tis a year. Because they were busy with business, they said they were coming to gather anyway, so helping to pick up the child was nothing. Not only that, when they were very busy, Zheng Chengfeng and Qu Man would take Yingying out to play on weekends.

Did they act out of greed at the mont, or had they been planning this for years?

No matter which it was, it left the two of them in disbelief, unable even to comprehend it.

They had known each other since kindergarten, an inseparable group of four. Even after drifting apart in high school, their bond remained intact. During festivals, if it wasn’t Zheng Chengfeng visiting them, it was them visiting, remaining close.

Jiang Zhengjun and Dou Jia always felt that aside from each other and their parents, the most trustworthy people in the world were Zheng Chengfeng and Qu Man.

Yet, they hard Yingying.

After taking the money, instead of letting Yingying go ho, they killed her and buried her. If it weren’t for her being lucky, she wouldn’t have made it back.

"Zheng Chengfeng, Qu Man, why?" Dou Jia shouted, her face covered in tears, "Why did you do this?"

She held onto Ah Chen, while Jiang Zhengjun stood up, rushing at Zheng Chengfeng and punching him in the face. Qu Man tried to pull him away but was pushed aside. As a man, he couldn’t hit Qu Man, but he was ruthless with Zheng Chengfeng.

"After all these years, how have I wronged you?"

"Even when I started my business, I asked you to join , and you said no."

"Later, when I succeeded, I asked you again if you wanted to join, and you said you couldn’t do it."

"If you needed money, you could have borrowed so from . Why target my daughter? She’s only seven."

Jiang Zhengjun pumled Zheng Chengfeng with punches, and the latter’s silent deanor only fueled his anger further.

Seeing that Jiang Zhengjun couldn’t stop, Jiang Yishi finally intervened, skillfully separating the two. By this ti, Zheng Chengfeng’s face was bruised and swollen, looking pathetic.

"Stop fighting, or else you’ll end up in the wrong even if you were right. Call the police. You should have reported this, right?" Jiang Yishi asked. With a missing child at ho, regardless of what happened, it should ultimately be reported to the police.

"Don’t call the police!" Qu Man shouted, kneeling in front of Dou Jia without hesitation, repeatedly kowtowing, "Jiajia, don’t call the police. Chengfeng and I were just montarily blinded by greed. We were never going to harm Yingying; it was an accident."

They had drugged Jiang Ying with a sleeping pill in her water, so when they smothered her, she didn’t struggle.

"After taking the money, we planned to let Yingying go. It’s just that maybe she was smothered and died, and we couldn’t release her, so we buried her outside," Qu Man cried, "Really, Yingying is so cute. How could I bear to kill her? She even called Auntie. I couldn’t kill her. You know I’m usually scared of cockroaches; how could I dare to kill anyone?"

Ah Chen looked at Qu Man: "Mom, they didn’t cover their faces when they took ."

Just one sentence was enough to condemn Zheng Chengfeng and Qu Man.

In what situation do kidnappers not cover their faces? Obviously, when they plan to kill right from the start, there’s no need to cover up.

Qu Man’s gaze turned cold and venomous.

Ah Chen was naturally unafraid, staring right back, unblinking, not even moving her eyes, while Qu Man was the first to feel a chill.

"Mom, it was the two of them who smothered ," Ah Chen said again, "I had no strength, couldn’t struggle."

Anyway, that’s the truth.

The world’s consciousness perspective was true; it wasn’t lying.

Qu Man collapsed onto the ground, and Zheng Chengfeng curled up at the side, silent. They both looked towards Jiang Zhengjun and Dou Jia, their only hope resting with them.

As long as they didn’t pursue it or call the police, this matter could be brushed aside.

But unexpectedly, Jiang Yishi took out his badge and a pair of handcuffs from his pocket: "You two, co with ."

Having encountered this, how could he let these two criminals escape?

It’s over!

Zheng Chengfeng and Qu Man didn’t really understand this area, but they knew that once the police got involved, it wouldn’t be easily resolved.

Qu Man tried to argue, but Dou Jia looked coldly at them and spoke to Jiang Yishi: "Are you a police officer?"

"I am," Jiang Yishi replied.

Dou Jia, with red eyes, said, "I want to report this."

She hugged Ah Chen tightly and glanced at Qu Man: "I will never forgive you, ever. You two never intended to leave a way out for Yingying."

It was luck, and encountering a kind police officer, that saved Yingying.

Otherwise, she couldn’t have returned.

They had even buried Yingying!

Yet these past days they pretended to comfort us, the thought of it made her sick.

Downstairs, the sound of police cars approached. It turned out Jiang Yishi had called earlier, and his colleagues had arrived. After all, there were two criminals and they also needed to check on the little girl Jiang Ying.

"At least let Yingying take a bath." Dou Jia held onto Ah Chen tightly.

So dirty and uncomfortable. Her daughter’s body was icy cold, she must have been freezing.

Ah Chen nudged her: "Mom, a checkup is needed."

Dou Jia took a deep breath, understanding this as well.

"Dad and Mom, stay with ," Ah Chen said, wanting to have a word with them, to ensure they live well.

Jiang Zhengjun and Dou Jia naturally stayed with her, sitting in the car, flanking her on each side.

"Dad, Mom, you have to live well in the future, not let yourselves fall into despair," Ah Chen urged, "If you give up on having children, I won’t be able to be reborn."

This could be a gift from the world’s consciousness, allowing them to reunite.

Jiang Zhengjun and Dou Jia’s hearts shook as they held Ah Chen’s icy hand, tears uncontrollably streaming down.
