He couldn’t deny that Mrs. Yu was beautiful. Not conversing with her too much was still quite pleasant. It didn’t take long to realize she was superficial.
"Why does Assistant Chen keep looking at ?" Ah Chen noticed Chen Zhu’s gaze, which occasionally showed regret and disdain, making it hard not to pay attention.
She wasn’t exactly a good-tempered person, being looked at like that would make anyone uncomfortable.
If she felt uncomfortable, she could only find trouble for him.
Chen Zhu didn’t expect his scrutiny to be noticed, and was montarily stunned, but quickly responded: "I am worried about making you wait too long here, afraid of neglecting you."
"You didn’t even pour a glass of water, indeed neglectful." Ah Chen said.
Chen Zhu was montarily taken aback. This lady usually tried to be pleasant with the assistants. Whenever he casually said sothing, it was enough to brush her off. Adding in President Yu’s indifference towards her, it naturally made him feel a bit disdainful.
However, this disdain wasn’t obvious – it was primarily reflected in minor details, not easily noticeable unless experienced.
Though he might have thought that, Chen Zhu imdiately apologized and turned to pour so water, as if genuinely caught up in busyness, avoiding any conflict over such a trivial matter.
Reaching his position wasn’t because of stupidity. Even if President Yu was indifferent towards this lady, if it resulted in trouble reaching President Yu over such a matter, it would only lead to criticism and leave a bad impression.
He didn’t want such minor issues to impact his future.
He was just an employee. Since the lady seed tough today, he chose to be more careful, avoid confrontation, and focus on his duties.
Ah Chen accepted the water, noticing his change in stance, and decided not to trouble him further.
This was ultimately influenced by Yu Xiaoran’s stance, as his attitude determined how those around him treated the commissioner.
Yet, Chen Zhu frowned, deep in thought, feeling cold sweat on his back, sowhat alard.

It was unclear how much ti had passed when Yu Xiaoran finally returned from the eting room.
He barely noticed Ah Chen sitting and waiting beside him, and was about to open his office door when Chen Zhu reminded him: "President Yu, the lady is here."
Yu Xiaoran halted his steps and turned back, finally spotting her sitting there, sowhat surprised, as based on his impression, she should have approached him upon seeing him.
Sothing crossed his mind, causing a slight excitent. Could it be...
It wasn’t supposed to be ti yet, though.
Yet, it might be possible ahead of ti. After all, a lot had changed. This ti, if she appeared, he wouldn’t harm her again and would ensure she stayed.
He quickly approached Ah Chen, maintaining a calm facade with excitent hidden in his eyes, and asked, "Why are you here? How long have you been waiting?"
Ah Chen stood up with the thermos, checked the ti on her phone, then replied, "Two hours and three minutes."
It really had been a long ti.
Chen Zhu covered his mouth, noting today’s lady seed different, as if she wasn’t happy.
Ah Chen felt Yu Xiaoran’s scrutinizing look, seemingly searching for sothing. She looked into his eyes and smiled lightly, "I made soup for you. It’s still hot in the thermos. Do you have ti now?"
"Give it to , I’ll have it after I’m done." Inside, Yu Xiaoran felt disappointed; she wasn’t here.
He stretched his hand, waiting for Ah Chen to pass the thermos, recalling his previous deanor, his expression softened: "Thank you for your trouble. I’ll have soone take you back. It’s still early, you can go shopping, buy sothing you like."
She liked money. Whenever he was bothered and didn’t want to see her, this trick worked wonders.
However, she always maintained so restraint. Since they married, even though she liked buying things, she hadn’t been excessive. It was as though she genuinely wanted to be a virtuous and managing wife. But, alas, she was not her.
He would only wait for her.
As for Bai Chen, he gave her this identity. She could use the card as she wished. Having experienced this, she ought to be content.
Bai Ying was better. Once she arrived, everyone around would like her.
As long as he didn’t harm Bai Ying this ti, even if Bai Ying left Bai Chen’s body, she would certainly co looking for him again. By then, he’d divorce Bai Chen. Their marriage was due to elders, and he never had feelings for her.
"Alright, I spent a long ti on the soup, Xiao Ran, rember to drink it. I won’t disturb your work anymore." Ah Chen smiled as she handed the thermos to Yu Xiaoran. "I’ll head out first then."
Yu Xiaoran sighed in relief, knowing that trick worked on her.
He held the thermos, watching her leave.
Once she disappeared from view, he casually handed the thermos to Chen Zhu next to him: "Dispose of this."
He’d never drunk soup she made, there was no need, fearing explanations would be needed with Bai Ying.
"Understood, President Yu." Chen Zhu revealed an ’as expected’ expression, watching Yu Xiaoran’s retreat into the office, carrying the thermos back to his spot and opening it. A rich aroma wafted out, whetting his appetite.
The lady did have one advantage: her soups were getting tastier, even better than those in high-end restaurants.
Chen Zhu took a spoonful, savoring it.
President Yu didn’t know what delicacy he missed out on, perhaps he simply didn’t appreciate it.
He really enjoyed it.
The lady occasionally brought porridge as well, about two or three tis a week, all ending up in his stomach.
"Is it good?" A voice suddenly sounded by his ear.
Chen Zhu instinctively nodded: "It’s good."
"Hmm, then savor it, for you probably won’t taste it again."
Every person’s soup tastes differently, no matter how closely copied, there’d be subtle differences, truly not replicable, Ah Chen thought to herself.
Fully aware now, Chen Zhu looked up sharply to see Ah Chen standing by, smiling gently, startlingly causing him to shiver and stand up.
How could the lady walk so quietly?
She was still smiling, not seemingly upset, yet to Chen Zhu, it was terrifying.
