"Wei Yao, don’t talk." Huo Jingchen said quickly, a hint of urgency in his voice, "This isn’t the ti to ask unnecessary questions. You guys are here to help , whatever the reason, I owe you a debt."
Li Chen being here is a fact, whether she likes him or not, and there’s no point arguing. Since he agreed to her conditions, he would fulfill them. He used to think of Li Chen as soone oblivious to worldly matters, simple and obedient, but only now realized that was just one side of her.
His manipulative use of their engagent had indeed angered her.
She was also irritated with Wei Yao, likely mocking him as foolish, now dissatisfied with him too.
Wei Yao snapped back to reality, recalling what he was about to say, fear etched across his face.
He gazed at Ah Chen with an angry look, "Are you deliberately ssing with ?"
Ah Chen burst out laughing, a mocking laugh, "You are sothing, aren’t you?"
"You still have the nerve to be mad? Weren’t you the one who asked first? Your attitude says it all. When I asked you if you have a problem with , why aren’t you answering? Are you scared to answer?"
Wei Yao took a deep breath, almost blurting out more words.
Li Chen’s nonchalant deanor made him even more frustrated.
Huo Jingchen quickly took hold of Wei Yao and then apologized to Ah Chen, "I’m sorry."
Wei Yao wanted to say sothing but was held tightly by Huo Jingchen, "Whatever it is, let’s talk it out once we pass through. This place is filled with danger, unexpected things can happen at any mont, and I hope we all make it out."
"Alright." Comforted by Huo Jingchen, Wei Yao felt much better.
Ah Chen chuckled, irritating Wei Yao, whose eyes popped with anger, his temper rising again.

Huo Jingchen no longer dared to say more, falling into silence.
