Qin Lin and Wei Yao also chose A, believing that with Huo Jingchen’s personality, this must be the choice.
When everyone’s choices were revealed, they discovered that only Li Chen was emitting white light, which was sowhat surprising.
Could it be that Li Chen made a different choice?
Very quickly, they discovered that was not the case, as Li Chen had already gone through the door.
They wanted to say sothing but still couldn’t move or speak. Watching Li Chen’s back, a bad premonition rose in their hearts.
After the choice, does each person have to face ghosts alone?
If that’s the case, doesn’t everyone need to defeat three ghosts?
Is that possible?
Especially for Huo Jingchen, who had calculated everything beforehand. The thought had indeed crossed his mind previously, but he hadn’t expected it to really be the case.
Fortunately, he had enough coins to buy three interdiate-level tools. If he hadn’t, he would be on a dead-end path.
At this mont, he finally realized that this world had so pitfalls.
While feeling angry inside, they were also sowhat glad.
After Li Chen went out, she rushed quickly to where the villagers were seeking help.
"Are you ddling?" one of the ghosts asked fiercely, "Don’t regret it."
The three ghosts exchanged glances and charged at Li Chen fiercely.
Li Chen had saved the coins for Wei Wenlan to use, in case they later had to split up, so she didn’t plan to use the coins to purchase interdiate tools.
As she watched the three ghosts charge at her, she punched each one, sending them flying with a bang.
The ghosts that were sent flying were stunned, internally exclaiming, how is she so powerful, she didn’t seem to use any tools? Could it be that she used coins to enhance her strength, like brute force?
This was possible; this woman recently made the most coins in the food event.
The ghosts exchanged another glance and continued to attack Li Chen. However, each ti they were sent flying until Li Chen’s strength finally reached their critical point, causing them to "disappear into thin air" in front of her.
The ghosts disappeared, and the villagers were saved, coming up to thank Li Chen one after another.
If they hadn’t been excellent actors, they would have given themselves away, wondering how she could be so strong, seriously worrying for the first ti that their colleagues might be beaten to death by her.
[Congratulations on completing the hidden task: Save the Food Village villagers. Rewards will be calculated after the instance ends.]
Li Chen felt a gravitational force pulling her, she didn’t resist, and then she returned to the room.
After sitting down, she couldn’t move again.
This situation had occurred in other Infinite World instances she had encountered. Sotis, those who made the sa choice faced the crisis together, and sotis a single person faced it alone, usually depending on the number of people and the instance settings.
For her, it wasn’t much of an impact, and there was no need to worry about Wei Wenlan, as they had earned quite a few coins in the past two days.
Besides, she still had so coins here, and once the instance ended, she planned to transfer all the coins to Wei Wenlan, fearing they might be separated in the next instance. According to her understanding of such worlds, separation was likely.
Next to go out were Wei Wenlan, Bai Xingwen, Qin Lin, Wei Yao, and Huo Jingchen; they all used coins to purchase tools and defeat the three ghosts. In between, there were so intervals, which Li Chen guessed were due to people on the other side undertaking tasks.
She wondered whether the people on the other side chose to help the villagers or if anyone chose to stay quietly in the house.
After everyone completed their options, they finally could move and speak, and everything outside returned to normal.
Despite the possibility of receiving hidden task rewards, Huo Jingchen’s mood was not pleasant.
He hadn’t expected everyone would have to defeat three ghosts, and after painstakingly saving up coins, he was now down to just 500.
Qin Lin had 600 left, and Wei Yao only had 250 remaining.
Wei Wenlan and Bai Xingwen still had quite a bit left, over a thousand each.
The rewards would surely be significant, but the unanticipated expenditure was more than expected, and this uncontrollable feeling made Huo Jingchen very uncomfortable.
If he knew that Li Chen had saved her coins, it would probably make him feel even worse.
Li Chen was satisfied with the outco. If it were with other teammates, people without major issues, she wouldn’t mind cooperating and supporting each other with teammates. As for Huo Jingchen, though, she’d rather pass; he had as many sches as a lotus root has holes. They had a bit of a vendetta, and she wasn’t too keen on him benefitting.
At this mont, the villagers were gathered together chatting.
"I kept worrying I might be hamred to death by her."
"Did you know? As we dissipated at the critical mont, I actually felt a sense of relief."
"Although my pain threshold is low, it was genuinely terrifying. You can’t understand this feeling if you haven’t been hit."
"Nobody chose B, so they’re lucky; otherwise, I’d have given them so psychological shadow before letting them go."
"In general, people wouldn’t choose B, right?"
Inside the house, Qin Lin was the first to speak: "This ti, we’ve learned a lesson too. If we don’t have enough items on us to handle a crisis alone, we shouldn’t take too many risks, or else it’ll be problematic."
"Indeed," Wei Wenlan replied, glancing at Huo Jingchen, even though he maintained a blank expression, anyone could see he was a bit agitated.
The Huo Jingchen, who rose to prominence upon returning to the Huo Family, seed to be t with setbacks repeatedly in this world. Is this the treatnt for a jerk? Whether others were happy or not, she didn’t know, but she was quite pleased. She couldn’t get over what he did to her best friend.
"There shouldn’t be any more crises ahead," Wei Yao said, visibly more relaxed. But just as he finished speaking, there was movent outside the door.
It was the sound of the door opening, followed by Qu Rou’er’s voice: "Granny, I’m back."
Everyone’s skin prickled with goosebumps, wondering what guise she had returned under?
They exchanged glances, deciding to pretend to be asleep, as they didn’t want to face anything else tonight.
Thankfully, Qu Rou’er only exchanged a few words with Granny Li and then fell silent.
Soon, everyone returned to their rooms to sleep, having the best night’s rest.
In the morning, they couldn’t help but notice Qu Rou’er coming in from outside, her face pale and ghastly, her feet floating above the ground.
Wei Wenlan rubbed her arms; although none of them technically counted as living here, it was still unsettling.
But Qu Rou’er suddenly burst into laughter, then her feet touched the ground, and she ran to Li Chen, holding her arm: "Chenchen, did I scare you?"
Everyone heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing this; it seed like things were going to be open from now on.
"Today, you’re going to leave this place. Have you had a chance to taste all the food in Food Village? Once you leave, it’ll be hard to return. Make sure to enjoy your als today; we won’t be preparing breakfast for you." Qu Rou’er looked regretful, as she really liked Chenchen.
The two teams convened, discussing last night’s events, discovering both sides had chosen A.
Today, Qu Rou’er still stayed close to Li Chen, but there weren’t many activities they could challenge now. While so offered rich rewards, they were difficult to complete. Li Chen wasn’t particularly fixated on these and instead chatted with Qu Rou’er.
And so, inevitably, they delved into the origins of Food Village.
