This hand was covered in armour, but it was clear who this hand belonged to.

There was nothing else that this hand could belong to since there was only one thing that had been buried in the ground in this place.

It was the Death King that had escaped from the cage that I had put it in.

The hole that its hand was coming out of was actually the hole that had been created by the beam of dark energy that it shot out.

It didn't take long for the hand to co even further out of the ground and following that hand was the rest of the Death King's body.

After appearing, the first thing that it did was turn to look at .

The way that it looked at was as if it already knew exactly where I was. It was as if there was sothing that was telling the Death King where my location was, which made sense with the way that the beam of dark energy had co at .

Was it because I had the power of the gods that went against the power of the undead or was it because I controlled the power of the undead as well?

Regardless of what it was, there was no ti to think about it since the Death King seed like it wasn't planning on letting or Joan catch our breaths at all.

After it turned to look at , it suddenly raised the sword in its hand and gathered the dark energy around it.

This slash was different from the ones that it had released before, this one seed like it was one that was going to be released with all of its power gathered in a single point.

A full power attack from a SS Rank Monster, this definitely wasn't sothing that could be looked down on.

So the only thing that I could do was raise both the Staff of Earth and the button.

I channeled my mana into both of these relics and started drawing on the power of both of them.

First there were walls of earth that were created in front of us.

Then there were walls of ice that ford in between these walls of earth.

These were layered defensive walls that would take the damage in turn, hopefully reducing it enough that it would be able to stop this attack.

Both sides were gathering their power for what seed to be one final confrontation.

Then all of a sudden, the Death King finally finished gathering its power and swung out that sword at the walls of ice and earth that appeared in front of it.

There was a simple wave of dark energy that was released when the Death King slashed out with his sword.

This simple wave of energy didn't look special at all when it was released, but it released a kind of pressure that was very powerful and hard to resist. It was as if it could press down on whatever was in front of it without even touching it, that was how strong it was.

When that wave of energy made contact with the first wall of earth, there was no resistance at all.

There was smoke that appeared as the divine power of the earth wall purified so of the dark energy in the wave, but it was far from being enough. The wall of earth shattered right away and then it was the wall of ice's turn.

But that didn't last for a single second either.

It seed that none of the walls that I had put up would last for a second as they were all smashed by the wave of energy that hit the walls.

It seed that nothing would be able to stop this wave of energy...

Eventually, there were only a few more walls that were left, but these walls were the strongest ones. The ones that were right in front of were the ones that I had concentrated the most energy into.

I was adding more mana into these walls while they were being attacked.

Because of that, the wave of energy finally slowed down when it reached the final walls.

With the way that it was stopped, it seed like the wave of energy would finally be stopped. But then there were more walls that cracked.

Even though I was injecting more mana into them, the slash that the Death King released was stronger than the walls that I created. Even if they were created with relics that ca from the gods.

Finally, the last wall cracked and it seed like the wave of dark energy was about to hit .

It was certainly much smaller than before, but the pressure that it put on was still more than enough to show how powerful it was.

"What are you doing?" I asked her, but she didn't respond at all as she faced that wave of dark energy.

When the wave of dark energy hit her, the sa thing happened where her hide started to be corroded away by the power of that wave.

But then before it could be completely corroded, there was this faint light that appeared around Joan.

After that faint light appeared, there was this bright light that ca from her forehead.

When I looked closely, I was shocked to see the mark that was there.

It was the Mark of God that had appeared on her forehead.
