After this small detour, we headed right to the Democratic Union.
With the speed of the airships, it really was a short journey even though there was quite a bit of distance to cross.
The territory the empires held were large, but that didn't matter when it ca to the speed of the airships.
Though comparing the speed of the airships to the speed of the wyverns, it wasn't as if they could compare.
There was only so much that humans could do with airships after all.
When we arrived, there was already a crowd that was gathered at the gates.
Or rather, it was better to say that there was an army that was gathered at the gates. There were many different machines of war that were gathered at this gate, to the point where it even seed like they were preparing for battle.
But none of them were aid at us.
All of them were just idle there in front of the gate, as if they were there for decoration.
There weren't any people other than those that belonged to the military that were gathered here. It was only those people that were soldiers that were standing there in front of the gate.
It seed that they had evacuated everyone to ensure that there were only soldiers here.
Only in the Democratic Union where the military controlled the state could they enforce this kind of lockdown. After all, they had the power to force people away and no one would look for trouble on their own.
It really was funny how they called themselves democratic when they ran the state like this.
But that wasn't the problem right now.
It was the fact that they were all gathered like this.
It was still a fact that they had gathered all of their troops at the gate, so now it was all about whether they had good or bad intentions.
If they had gathered all of these troops here to start sothing…
But it seed that this worry was unnecessary.
Since the Democratic Union had already agreed to the alliance between humans and other races to fight against the hidden mastermind, they wouldn't do sothing like this.
Rather, it was a way to show they were ready for anything since it was one of the four empires that was visiting them.
In the distance, I could see that there were people with press badges that had been allowed to enter. The Democratic Union had advanced technology and that ant that they had developed sothing that was similar to a cara.
This was even sothing that had been used in the ga, I just forgot about it since I hadn't thought about it for a long ti.
In short, they were using this as a press opportunity to demonstrate the power that they had. They were using this to show not just the Democratic Union, but the rest of the human race that they were ready for anything.
At the sa ti, they were showing that the top brass of the human race were united against the hidden enemy.
The ones that ca forward were two generals of the Democratic Union and they were eting with two of the popes from the Holy Council. There was no better show of unity than this…
Or rather that would have been the case if it wasn't for the fact that the two popes suddenly turned to and said, "Holy son, please step forward."
As soon as they heard this, the two generals imdiately looked in my direction.
But it wasn't just them that looked at , the other soldiers and even the reporters looked at , though for the latter…they were stopped by the soldiers that were nearby when they ca back to their senses.
There wasn't a single reporter that dared to take a photo in this situation.
They knew that if they did, they would disappear tomorrow.
That was just how it was in the Democratic Union.
Only even with everyone looking at with strange looks like this, it didn't seem like the two popes cared at all. The two of them looked at with smiles on their faces and even started waving their hands as if they were calling over.
A bitter smile appeared on my face.
I had gotten them to stop spreading the word that I was their 'holy son', but now they were spreading it to the Democratic Union. This was much worse than just simply publishing sothing that gave the title of holy son.
I really didn't know what to do at first, but since everyone was just standing there with strange looks on their faces…
In the end, I had no choice but to go over.
The two generals had recovered at this point and though they still looked at with a strange look, they still greeted properly.
As high ranking generals of the Democratic Union, it was only natural that they knew who I was with a single glance. Though even if they didn't, the fact that I ca on the back of wyverns should have been enough of a clue for them.
"Your majesty, it's an honour to have you in our Democratic Union as well."
I wanted to give a simple greeting like they did, but the two popes quickly cut in by saying, "No, no, he's not just the king of the Kite Kingdom now, he's also our Holy Empire's holy son."
They were saying this as if they wanted to make sure the two generals were aware of this.
That just made things even more awkward…
The two generals looked at with even stranger looks as if they just couldn't understand what was happening. There was even a part of their gaze that looked like they were wondering if I had hypnotized the two popes in so way.
With a sigh, I said in a stern voice, "That's enough of that. Stop confusing everyone already!"
I had no choice but to say this, but at least the two of them listened to .
Though the awkward mood didn't disappear.
