"Stop this instant! Are you trying to declare war on our Democratic Union?"
After saying this, the commander even raised his hand as if he was giving an order to the soldiers to prepare themselves for a fight.
It seed that if it was necessary, he would even give the order for them to attack .
But even then, I just ignored him as I had Joan continue breathing her flas.
Finally, the commander couldn't take it anymore and said, "Take him down! Stop him from harming the land of our Democratic Union!"
The soldiers put down their hesitation when they were given the order.
In the end, they were soldiers and the thing that mattered most to them were their orders. So once they received their orders, it wasn't up to them to question these orders, they just had to follow them.
But before anyone could actually make a move, there was a voice that rang out.
"Enough. Stand down."
Everyone was shocked to hear this voice.
There wasn't a single person that didn't recognize this voice.
It was just that no one had expected the person this voice belonged to to actually speak up at this ti.
But once he did, there was no one that dared to disobey his order and make a move.
The only thing that they could do was stand there awkwardly.
The commander was the one that finally broke the silence by asking, "Sir president, this…"
He didn't get to say much more as he saw the way that the president looked at him.
Since the president was even glaring at him like this, he had no choice but to fall silent. Though the look in his eyes made it clear that he still didn't accept what was happening right now.
It still seed like he wanted to make a move.
But eventually, the flas stopped.
The scene that was revealed after the flas stopped caught them off guard once again.
There wasn't a single trace of the land being burnt, but at the sa ti, all traces of the corruption energy disappeared. There wasn't a single bit of the corruption energy that was left behind after the flas disappeared.
"What happened?" The commander couldn't help asking in a dazed voice that seed to be speaking for all of the soldiers.
There wasn't a single one of them that seed like they could understand what just happened. All of them had the sa dazed look on their faces like the commander did.
After a long period of silence, there was a clapping sound that broke through the silence.
Everyone turned to look in the direction of the clapping and when they saw who it was that was clapping, all of them…slowly started to clap as well. It was very awkward clapping at first, but eventually they started matching the clapping of that person.
After all, the one that had been clapping was the president.
When he was done, the president ca forward with a sparkle in his eyes as he looked at Joan. After approaching, he suddenly asked, "Your majesty, what is this one wyvern that you're currently on? These flas seed quite special."
I didn't have ti to answer these questions that he had, but since it was the president…
"Un, she's indeed special." I said with a simple nod.
There were people that seed unhappy with the way that I responded, but the president just ignored them as he kept looking at Joan.
After another mont of silence, he said, "This wyvern of yours…"
"Sir president, I think that it'll only be a matter of ti before the corruption energy surges again and cos back. I think that we should make the most of this opportunity to take care of the source of the corruption energy before anything else happens." I cut him off before he could finish.
The commanders and the soldiers all seed unhappy when they heard cut him off like this, but they couldn't say anything since it was the president that was here.
All they could do was wait for the president himself to say sothing.
But the president didn't say what they thought he would say.
Instead, he just said with a nod, "You're right. Go ahead and take care of the problem then. We can discuss this matter afterwards."
He even waved his hand as if he was dismissing .
The commanders and soldiers looked like they were much happier after seeing this, but I just ignored this.
There was only one reason for us to co here and there was no ti to think about the way that the president acted.
The only thing that mattered right now was reaching the ruins that the Relic of Destruction was releasing this corruption energy.
So with a nod, I waved my hand at the others that followed which included the two popes.
This ti, there was nothing that stopped us from heading forward.
Though when we did leave, there were so hostile looks that were cast in our direction. It seed that we had left a bad impression on the soldiers of the Democratic Union.
Or it was better to say that I had left a bad impression because of what I did.
But at the sa ti, there was soone that had a good impression because of this.
Only it wasn't as if this good impression was a good thing.
The way that the president looked at Joan…it was clear that he wanted sothing from her. The way that he looked at her even seed like the kind of look that soone would give to sothing that they wanted to possess.
It wasn't hard to figure out what he was thinking, but that was a matter for later.
Once we had gotten far enough from the soldiers of the Democratic Union, we wasted no ti in taking off.
Before this, we hadn't flown because we were with the Democratic Union group.
But now that we didn't have to care about them, naturally we would fly to the ruins where the Relic of Destruction was.
I just hoped that it was still there.
