When I ca over to the box, the sa thing happened where there was a reaction between the key and the lock.
Once I lifted the key up so that it was aligned with the lock of the box, another beam of light ca out.
The lock lit up just like the one that was on the door and soon that light spread all over the box itself.
It seed that the defenses that the gods had built into this place were double layered. It seed that they didn't leave a single thing up to chance as they placed two different traps in this place for the forces of Destruction.
However, it wasn't as if the light did anything to .
Once the light was done with what it was ant to do, I heard a clicking sound coming from the box.
I didn't actually have to do anything to the box as it suddenly opened all on its own.
The lid of the box moved on its own as if there was sothing controlling it and soon it revealed what was inside.
There was an orb that was on so kind of cloth inside of the box and nothing else.
It seed that this orb was the Relic of Corruption that we had co here for.
I didn't reach my hand out for the orb even though it seed like there was no reaction from it. I knew that things wouldn't be that simple, so I just pulled out the button and brought it up towards the orb.
Then there was a layer of ice that appeared around the orb.
Even if the Relic of Corruption should have already been sealed, the corruption energy that had been released into the Democratic Union showed that there was sothing happening.
So it wasn't as if I could be careless with this Relic of Destruction.
Only it didn't seem like there was anything wrong with the Relic of Destruction.
Even though the layer of divine energy ice was around it, there wasn't a single reaction that ca from the Relic of Destruction. It didn't seem like the Relic of Destruction had a single trace of corruption energy inside of it.
"If it didn't co from the Relic of Destruction, just where did it co from?" I couldn't help asking myself when I saw this.
But even if I were to ask myself this, it wasn't as if I would be able to give an answer.
So in the end, I just reached out to pick up the Relic of Destruction.
Only this ti, there was a reaction that ca from it.
It was almost as if the Relic of Destruction had even been waiting for to reach my hand out towards it.
The ice lted in an instant and there was this dark energy that ca out of the Relic of Destruction, which was naturally the corruption energy.
When the corruption energy ca out, there was also a voice that said, "I've been waiting for you. I knew that you would be coming for this relic of mine."
I was completely caught off guard since I recognized this voice.
It was hard for not to recognize this voice since it was one that had left a deep impression on .
It was the voice from the God of Destruction itself.
It seed that this voice was coming right from the orb that was the Relic of Destruction in front of .
After this voice rang out, the corruption energy seed to beco even stronger as it surged towards my hand.
It really seed like the corruption energy wanted to swallow with the way that it surged towards .
I could hear shouting from behind and the sounds of people casting their holy magic, but it didn't seem like it would reach in ti.
The only thing that I could do was try to create a barrier of ice with the button that was still in my hand. It was just that the ice that was created wasn't actually able to resist the power of the corruption energy.
It seed that there was just too much corruption energy for the divine energy ice to purify all at one.
So the only thing that I could do was grit my teeth and prepare to resist whatever the corruption energy was planning to do to . I was even prepared to cut off my arm if it was swallowed by the corruption energy just in case.
During all of this, I couldn't help complaining in my mind, "This is completely different from what I was told! You said that I would have to watch out for the forces of Destruction, not the God of Destruction!"
Only in the end, the corruption energy didn't actually reach .
Before it could reach , there was a layer of light that appeared around .
This layer of light started from the Mark of God that suddenly appeared on my other hand and soon spread all over .
This layer of light was actually strong enough to stop the corruption energy from reaching .
"This is…" The God of Destruction said with a trace of surprise in its voice.
"You think that we wouldn't be ready for this? We already expected you to play tricks like this."
It was Solista's voice that suddenly rang out.
I was touched that they had prepared sothing to protect , but I also couldn't help complaining once more. After all, she had just said that they had already expected this, so couldn't they have given a warning before this?
As the layer of light suppressed the corruption energy coming from the Relic of Destruction, the God of Destruction finally spoke again.
"You've even put a trace of your power into this mark that you've given him, don't you know that this will just weaken the source of your power now that I've destroyed it?"
"It's worth it." Solista said without any hesitation.
A complicated look appeared on my face when I heard this.
