After a long silence, the teacher finally said, "Use another fireball."
I was surprised to hear her say this, but I could see that she had a confident look on her face when she said this.
Since she was certain…
I raised my hand and gathered the flas once more.
When the kid saw do this, he started moving back again before realizing that this was wrong. After all, the direction that I raised my hand in was the direction that he was moving back in.
If he were to go that way, then he would certainly be caught up in the explosion that would happen as a result.
So the kid stood up and moved in the opposite direction.
With the way that he moved, he even went behind as if he was using as so kind of shield against any explosion that would happen.
I just ignored what he did and focused on gathering the flas for the spell.
But when I was done, I couldn't help looking at the teacher one last ti as if to confirm that this was what she wanted.
She just gave a simple nod before revealing a focused look.
The way that she looked at was as if she didn't want to miss a single thing.
Since the teacher was confident, there was nothing else for to say other than to shoot out this fireball.
The fireball went right at the barrier and then exploded in the sa way as before.
But this ti, there wasn't the sa large hole that had appeared in the barrier.
In fact, if one looked closely, they would have seen that the explosion was actually smaller than before. It seed that there was sothing that negated part of the explosion which made it smaller.
When the flas cleared, one could see that there was a hole in the barrier still. It was just that the flas hadn't made it all the way through like before, it only cracked a few layers of the barrier.
Though if one looked at the teacher, they would see that it was quite the effort for her to maintain this barrier.
There was sweat coming down her face and she was breathing heavily.
It was clear that she had expanded quite a bit of mana just to block this fireball.
No one said a thing as they waited for the teacher to recover and once she did, she dropped the barrier.
She turned around to wipe the sweat off her face and fix her appearance before finally turning back to say, "Have you always fired your fireballs in this manner?"
I was surprised to hear this and was about to give a nod in response, but then I realized that sothing had indeed changed.
That was when I slowly said, "Well, I applied a few of the things that I've learned from this class and from so other people into my fireball spell as well. However, these are just basics and shouldn't change anything."
The teacher nodded as if she agreed at first, but then she shook her head to say, "It might be the case for other people, but it's not the sa for you. That's because you possess sothing that no one else has, that's what makes your spells special."
I couldn't help raising a brow and I tried to think about what she ant by this, but I wasn't able to figure it out at first.
That was until I suddenly realized what she ant.
It was sothing that most people in this Sorcery Empire cared very much about because of the effect that it had on magic.
My pure and dense mana.
But even if the mana was pure and dense, it shouldn't have reached a point where the fireballs were this strong, right?
It felt like it was a completely different spell with the power that it possessed now.
Seeing the look of doubt that was on my face, the teacher said, "Fire another fireball, but do it the way that you did before."
After saying this, she waved her staff and there was a target that appeared.
However, I couldn't help looking at her with a concerned look.
After all, she didn't raise a barrier along with this. If the fireball were to explode like it did before, then it would be dangerous.
Only it didn't seem like the teacher was planning to do anything else with the way that she looked at as if she was waiting for to shoot the fireball.
So in the end, I just did what she said and shot the fireball like I did before.
"There's no way that it's the sa spell!" The kids all shouted when they saw the fireball hitting the target.
Even I thought the sa thing as the explosion was just too small for it to be considered the sa spell.
But the teacher had a smile on her face as she said, "That's the difference between casting magic with the proper technique and casting magic by just brute forcing it with mana. If you don't use the proper technique, most of that mana is lost when trying to cast the spell."
I couldn't help looking at her with a look of doubt, but the teacher explained, "Because you didn't properly condense the mana into a fireball spell, over 99% of it was lost. The fact that it was even able to do the sa thing shows just how pure and dense your mana is."
There was even a trace of agitation in her voice as she said this.
Almost as if she was complaining that it wasn't fair.
Though it wasn't as if I could tell her the real reason why my mana had beco like this.
After all, it certainly wasn't sothing that anyone could replicate and wasn't sothing that I wanted people to replicate.
However, this was certainly a very good lesson that I had learned.
It really drove ho the importance of having proper knowledge when it ca to using magic.
