With the Staff of Earth, I raised a cage of earth around the shadow that was trying to escape.

The shadow saw this and released its corruption energy as if it was trying to break through, but it just wasn’t able to do so. The mont that the corruption energy made contact with the cage of earth around the shadow, it was instantly purified.

There wasn’t a single trace of it left once it made contact.

But I could tell through my link with the divine energy earth that this corruption energy was actually weaker than before.

It was clear that the shadow was running out of power.

Whatever it was relying on had been damaged from being hit by all those attacks. Especially the fla breaths filled with the divine energy that I provided which was stronger than the rest of the attack.

Those fla breaths were more than enough to drain the power from the shadow.

Seeing that it was about to be trapped, the shadow tried one last thing which was to draw out a small button from inside of itself. When this button ca out, there was this black energy that ca from it that was ford into a single spike.

As soon as this black energy appeared, everyone imdiately turned to look at the spike that had been ford.

That was because this spike was anything but normal.

The power that was contained within this was much more powerful than any of the corruption energy that had appeared previously.

This really seed like it was the power that ca from a god with the aura that it released.

But in the end, this was just a desperation asure.

I also had power from the gods and I had my own divine energy which was stronger than the divine energy borrowed from the gods.

That was why the fla breath that Joan released was about to break through this spike.

The spike had only been able to pierce halfway through the wall of earth before it was bathed in the flas from Joan. Once it was bathed in these flas, there wasn’t a single thing that it could do as it was completely purified.

The button that had been in the center of the dark energy spike fell to the ground, but it also seed to be covered in a layer of dark energy still.

There was a mont of silence before the shadow dived at the button, but I raised another wall of earth around the button. The mont that the shadow made contact with the wall of earth, the part of it that made contact disappeared.

It was the sa as when the corruption energy made contact with the wall of earth.

"You’re made of corruption energy? Then are you one of the Apostles of the God of Destruction?" I asked while raising my staff to raise more of the divine earth wall.

I wanted to trap the shadow inside of a cage of divine energy earth

The shadow didn’t say anything as it continued looking for a way to escape, but there really wasn’t anything that it could do.

Because of its last ditch effort, it ant that it had already spent everything that it could have done.

Now that it had spent all of its power like this, it couldn’t even resist the normal attacks from the others. So it was easy to use those attacks to corral it into the cage of divine energy earth.

The shadow didn’t seem like it could accept being trapped like this, so it seed like it wanted to try sothing to break free.

But no matter what it did, it just wasn’t able to do anything.

In the end, I was able to trap it.

However, even after it was trapped like this, the shadow didn’t say anything.

It just turned around as if it was still looking for a way to escape.

In that case, the only thing that could be done was to wake up the gno that had been taken over and see if we could get any answers from him.

Well, there was also the button, but that was more dangerous than questioning the gno.

That was sothing that was clearly related to the God of Destruction and was sothing that shouldn’t be touched that rashly.

Until I was certain that we could look at it safely, I would keep it under the do of divine energy earth.

Though it was tiring keeping it up like that.

I turned to look at the gno that had been abandoned by the shadow and I saw that the eldest gno and the other gnos had already gathered around him. They had taken out potions and seed like they were doing what they could to help him.

Even though he had been trying to hurt them just a mont ago, they were still doing all that they could to save him.

"We can’t let him die until we learn what that thing is."

I couldn’t help revealing a trace of bitterness on my face when I heard this.

It seed that they weren’t doing this to help the gno, but rather to find out about what the shadow was.

Still, this was also what I wanted to know, so I waited to see what they could do with him.

"Ah!"

The gno woke up with a scream before suddenly looking around himself with eyes filled with terror. When his eyes fell onto the shadow, that was when he moved back in fear and raised his hands in a wary manner.

Though what he could have done with just his hands alone was sothing that no one could have figured out.

"Calm down." I said after taking a step forward.

The gno looked at with a confused look before asking, "Who are you? How did you co here?"

The eldest gno grabbed him and said, "You idiot grandson, what do you think you’ve been doing this ti?"

"Huh?" I couldn’t help looking at the eldest gno with a surprised look.
