There was a look of absolute shock that was on my face as I stared at the main hall of the castle.
This was a scene that I just couldn’t believe since this was the last thing that I had been expecting.
I had guessed that people lived up here since it was a castle that had been built here.
It was just that I never expected this castle’s main hall to be filled with skeletons like this.
With the way that they were scattered around, it was clear that this wasn’t a natural kind of death. After all, it seed like so of them had truly suffered before they had died.
For them to die in this kind of position made it quite clear that sothing had happened here.
As such, I really didn’t know what to do here.
There was no telling what was inside of this castle waiting for , but if the previous residents had all died like this...there was no telling if whatever was in the castle was friendly or not.
It was very likely that the thing that had killed the residents wasn’t sothing that was kind.
Though there was the chance that the skeletons on the ground were from invaders that had been killed by the defenses of the castle. As such, there might be a good reason for the deaths of all these people that had turned into skeletons.
It was just that I had too little information about all of this.
Without any information on what happened here, I just couldn’t co to a decision.
In the end, Joan made that decision for .
While I was still trying to figure out what to do, Joan suddenly poked her head in through the main doors. I was imdiately drawn to the light that was coming from her mouth as she poked her head in.
"Wait, don’t!" I shouted, but it was already too late.
"Whoosh!"
The flas went right past and completely filled the halls.
Since Joan had released her flas, there was only one thing that I could do.
Instead of trying to stop Joan, I focused my eyes on the way that the flas flowed into the hall. I was making sure that I was paying attention to the direction that the flas were flowing in.
When it was over, there was a disappointed look that was on my face.
That was because there wasn’t anything special about the way that the flas were flowing. It seed like this was just a normal fla breath that was released by Joan.
I should have felt relieved that there wasn’t a single trace of corruption energy inside of this place, but really I was disappointed and a bit frustrated. After all, I had been hoping that these flas would have given a clue about where to search.
But since the flas didn’t give a single clue, that ant that I would have to search this entire castle on my own.
At the sa ti, it still ant that there was sothing dangerous that was hiding inside of this castle. This was the thing that had killed all of these people here that had turned into skeletons.
And the worst part of it all was the sneaking suspicion that was deep inside of .
"What if the Relic of Destruction isn’t even here?"
If there was no reaction from the divine energy flas, then it was possible that the Relic of Destruction had already been taken away from here.
Even with all of the defenses that were put in this place, it was entirely possible that everything had already been taken away...
Taking a deep breath, I decided to head into the hall.
Standing here would accomplish nothing and wasting more ti here would an less ti to track down the Relic of Destruction.
Even though I had so ti, it wasn’t as if I had all the ti in the world since the people from the camp would eventually be suspicious that we were all gone for so long.
At the sa ti, if there had been anything here, Joan’s flas should have already purified it.
Divine energy flas were special like that.
Other than corruption energy, the divine energy flas were actually able to purify other things like diseases and curses. So if it was those things that had killed these people, then there shouldn’t be a problem.
I didn’t get far before sothing happened.
"Click."
The mont that I looked down, I found that the entire floor under had sunk down.
It wasn’t just a single tile or a single patch that was booby trapped, it was the entire floor.
The only space that wasn’t filled with this trap was the edges of the room. It was only a few steps from the wall that didn’t have this trap.
Though I guessed that there had to be sothing else there.
If they created a tile that was this big, then they should have sothing for the edges.
But now wasn’t the ti to think about that.
The only thing that I could do was try to defend against whatever the trap was.
So I imdiately pulled out both the button and the Staff of Earth. With the two of them in my hand, I ford a barrier of earth and ice all around .
I even triple layer stacked them just to make sure that this barrier was as strong as possible.
At the sa ti, I could see from behind that Joan was also gathering her flas to shoot whatever ca at .
With this much defense, it should be easy to deal with any traps.
But in the end, there wasn’t so much as a single arrow or dart that ca at .
Instead, there was this light that ca from above before a voice was heard.
"I know you’re wondering what this place is and who we are, that’s why I’m here to explain all of that."
