Once again, I headed out.
I wasn’t going back to the Kite Kingdom like I would have wanted, instead I was heading to a place that was considered the middle of nowhere.
After all, it was a place that wasn’t considered a part of any nation at all.
The only reason that this place existed was because there were no resources that were considered valuable in this place.
As such, there was no nation that wanted to take over this place.

In the end, it just simply wasn’t worth claiming this place.
In fact, there were very few places where people could live in this place.
So there weren’t that many people that were here to begin with.
In a way, they lived the most peaceful lives since there was no one that actually bothered them.
But at the sa ti, it was because there were no people here that this place was actually considered the best place to arrange a eting. Since there were no people here, it ant that there was no one to listen in on a conversation.
Even if technology wasn’t as developed in this world, there were still many thods that one could listen in on a conversation.
It was only in a place that no one cared about like this that one could truly hide what they were saying.
As for who I was eting...
"I certainly didn’t expect you to invite out all of a sudden like this."
I just calmly responded, "Well, there are a few things that we have to talk about."
The other side nodded in agreent before gesturing to the makeshift shelter that they had made.
This wasn’t just any makeshift shelter, it was a proper military tent that had plenty of facilities.
The only ones that could set up sothing like this was the Democratic Union.
The one that I was eting was the president of the Democratic Union.
In short, I was using myself as bait.
And since I was the bait, it ant that I was irresistible to the Democratic Union. Especially with the current situation that they were in, they just couldn’t ignore a eting with .
After all, I might be their way out of their current situation.
Once we were inside, they even laid out so tea and snacks for us.
However, there were only two spots to sit in this entire tent. The rest of the group that were here had no choice but to stand and watch.
It was impossible for to co alone and it was impossible for him to co alone, which was why both of us brought our guards.
Behind the president of the Democratic Union were his trusted officers that I had t before.
Behind were Klein and the other royal guards.
Once we sat down, the president suddenly asked, "So what prompted this sudden invitation?"
Though he said it as if it didn’t matter to him, it was clear that this wasn’t the case. After all, if it didn’t matter to him, then he wouldn’t have responded that quickly and have prepared all of this.
It was more than enough to show the dangerous situation that the Democratic Union was in.
"Well, it’s more of a courtesy call more than anything important." I casually said at first before saying, "I’m sure that you would have received a report that the group that you sent to the land of the orcs has gone missing?"
The president didn’t show any emotions at all as he said, "Well, it’s only to be expected when facing the forces of Destruction. The sacrifices that have to be made are done willingly since we all have to protect the people that we care about."
The calm appearance that he had wasn’t a facade at all.
Rather, he was actually quite relieved that the group disappeared.
After all, they were the only link that they had been working with the forces of Destruction.
If they disappeared without a trace, there really wasn’t anything that anyone could prove.
With a nod, I said, "That’s right. We’re all doing this because we want to protect those that we care about from the forces of Destruction."
Then I changed the topic by saying, "So how has the Democratic Union been lately?"
The president’s lips twitched when he heard this before he said, "I think there’s no need for small talk like this, right? Why not just tell what you want and I’ll tell you what I want. I think it’ll go much smoother if we do that."
"Why don’t you go first?" I replied.
The president narrowed his eyes to look at as if he was trying to figure out what I was thinking, but he still spoke in the end, "It’s simple. With your status in the racial alliance, I’m sure that you could convince the others to stop their current treatnt of the Democratic Union. For that, I’d be more than willing to pay a heavy price."
The fact that the Democratic Union was being choked out by the entire racial alliance was sothing that hung heavily over the president.
As such, he was desperate to find a way out...even if it ant betraying the racial alliance.
But since that didn’t work out, then there was no other choice but to turn to this person.
Once upon a ti, the president even looked down on this person since he thought that he was nothing more than an upstart. But now, he had no choice but to ask for his help.
That was just how much power that he gained.
I gave a nod to show that I understood before saying, "But I fail to see what I would have to gain from helping you with this. Can you please explain this for ?"
