Even without saying this, I could already see the look that was in Dorothy’s eyes as she looked down.
It wasn’t just now that her eyes sparkled like this, her eyes had been sparkling during the entire way here.
It was as if she was a girl that was seeing the world for the first ti with how excited she was.
That just made realize that I really didn’t know much about her, but that couldn’t be blad on . After what had happened, there really hadn’t been the ti to ask her about all of this.
At the sa ti, we didn’t have ti to talk to her since I had been trying to get her out of that place as soon as possible.
Even if the majority of the people of the racial alliance agreed, there were still those that didn’t agree with taking her. I didn’t want to remain in that place and take any chances with Dorothy’s life.
It wasn’t that I didn’t trust them, it was just that this really was a fragile matter for the racial alliance.
It was best if she was kept out of sight.
Since it was decided that Dorothy would co with , it was only natural that we would head back to the Kite Kingdom. After all, there were no traces left of the forces of Destruction, so it wasn’t as if there was anywhere for us to go.
The only thing that we could do was head back to our respective hos and gather our strength.
But it wasn’t just us that were coming to the Kite Kingdom.
There were researchers that were following us since they wanted to study Dorothy’s power.
Like I had said, this would provide us insight on the power of Destruction and give us a chance to study it properly. So it wasn’t as if I had any reason to turn them down when they wanted to co with us.
They might even be able to find the reason behind Dorothy’s power in the first place.
But before any of this, there was still a trial that I had to face.
When we arrived in the capital of the Kite Kingdom, there were a few people that were waiting for us.
It was naturally my wives that had been waiting.
They seed happy for only a second to see back, but then they imdiately narrowed their eyes when they saw . Or it was better to say that they narrowed their eyes because of the one that was on Joan’s back with .
This continued until I landed and I walked over with Dorothy beside .
Since this was a large city that she wasn’t used to, Dorothy even reached her hand out to take mine as if she was afraid.
The mont that she did this, I could feel the chill that was coming from their gazes even more.
It didn’t seem like they were planning on listening to explain.
Instead, Rose just asked, "Whose child is this?"
The way that she said this while looking at was as if she had already decided that I was guilty.
It was the sa with how the other wives looked at him.
It really didn’t seem like any of them were planning on giving him the chance to say anything.
Seeing them like this really brought a bitter smile to my face, but I really couldn’t say anything since it looked really bad.
"Big sister, why are you looking at big brother like this?"
Dorothy suddenly speaking up like this really didn’t help, but it did draw Rose’s attention away from .
She narrowed her eyes to look at Dorothy for a bit before saying, "Where did you co from? Where are your parents?"
Dorothy seed to have realized what the situation was, so she said, "I was saved by big brother from the forces of Destruction. As for my parents..."
Her voice trailed off when she said this as a sad look appeared in her eyes.
Rose and the other wives couldn’t help being a bit taken aback when they heard this, but they didn’t doubt the reaction that Dorothy had. After all, this kind of reaction wasn’t sothing that could be faked.
Once they saw this, they couldn’t help feeling that they had made so kind of mistake.
They glared at one more ti before Rose said, "I’m sorry, it seems like I’ve asked sothing that I shouldn’t have asked. Do you want to co to our castle and have so snacks first?"
Hearing snacks being ntioned, Dorothy’s eyes lit up imdiately.
Even if she was a genius, she was still a young girl in the end and she could be lured like a young girl could. So when snacks were ntioned, it was obvious that her mood would improve.
She was a cute girl in the first place, so Rose and the other wives smiled when they saw this before leading the way back to the castle.
For now, it seed that I had survived.
Though from the way that they looked at from ti to ti, I could tell that they didn’t drop this matter yet. It was just that for Dorothy’s sake, they were waiting to hear my explanation.
So while we were heading back to the castle, I made sure to organize all of the information that I had.
This would determine my fate in a little while, so I had to make sure that I didn’t say anything wrong.
Once we were back at the castle, Rose arranged for the maids to take Dorothy away to get her so snacks.
Dorothy seed to hesitate when this happened, but she followed them in the end when she saw give her a nod.
I was happy to see that she trusted , but this surely didn’t help my case.
Once Dorothy was gone, Rose said, "Explain yourself, now."
There was no room for discussion in her tone.
