The drunk was taken aback by my sudden appearance and he wasn’t able to register what had happened.
But when he ca back to his senses, it seed like he beca even more angry as he tried to throw off the hand that was holding his arm.
The problem was that my grip was simply too tight for him to do that.
When he tried to throw off, he couldn’t help wincing in pain.
It looked like he had thrown out his arm with the way that he winced like this.
But that wasn’t strange since my grip was like an iron vice, which was why it was like tearing out his arm when he tried to throw off.
After coming back to his senses from the pain, the drunk narrowed his eyes to look at before saying, "Who do you think you are? You co into my inn and act like this? I’ll get the city guards to throw you out!"
"I’m the father of the child that you were about to hit. I don’t think I need more justification than this to stop you, do I?" I said with a smile in response to this.
Though there was a smile on my lips, this wasn’t a smile that reached my eyes.
The drunk couldn’t help trembling when he saw looking at him like this.
If it was before, I wouldn’t have been able to release this kind of pressure. But after everything that had happened to , I was able to release this kind of pressure quite easily.
This was just the result of my experience after coming to this world.
It really has changed quite a bit.
After a mont of silence, the drunk finally said, "Alright, fine, I get it! Let go already!"
Though he didn’t seem like he was planning on pushing this matter, he didn’t seem to change his attitude.
That was why I didn’t let go as I said, "So you’re planning on dropping this matter without an apology? Don’t you know how to be kind to children?"
"You..." The drunk looked at as if he really wanted to attack .
The problem was that he knew that he wouldn’t be able to overpower .
After all, I was still holding his arm with my hand like an iron vice locked around it.
If I didn’t let go, the only thing that was awaiting him was pain.
He kept looking at like this as if he was trying to pressure into dropping this matter, but I gripped his arm even harder when he did this.
"Ah!" The drunk scread out in pain when this happened and he finally said, "Fine, I got it! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!"
"Wrong person." I said, but I still loosened my grip around his arm.
The drunk slowly glared at once more, but he couldn’t say anything when I glared right back at him. This glare forced him to lower his head, as if he was afraid to look back at .
In the end, he slowly turned to look at Dorothy before saying, "I’m sorry for scaring you."
Dorothy still looked at the drunk with an angry gaze, but I let go of him when he said this.
I knew that there was no point in pushing this matter too far.
I hadn’t even been planning on stepping in since this was just their family matter and what was needed for the recruitnt.
But as I was leaving, I turned to look once at Olivia before saying, "You really should be kind to children."
"Who are you to tell how to raise my..." He was about to keep screaming, but my glare made him fall silent in the end.
I didn’t bother saying anything else to him as I walked back to my table with Dorothy.
After my intervention, it seed like the drunk was too embarrassed to keep going.
So in the end, he just reached out and grabbed the gold coin that was in the counter drawer before saying, "I’m heading out again. Have dinner prepared when I get back."
He didn’t even wait for a response from Alia after saying this.
As he left, he cast a glare in my direction which I didn’t miss.
Once the drunk was gone, there was a silence that filled the room.
Alia gave a sigh before saying, "I apologize for that everyone. Let buy everyone a round of drinks to make up for it."
Everyone quickly started changing the topic when they heard this and even said that she didn’t have to do this, but Alia insisted and gave a nod to the bartender to take care of this.
After the bartender went off, she ca over to our table and said, "Thank you for your help."
I gave a nod before saying, "I’m sorry for getting involved in your family matters."
She looked surprised to hear say this before a complicated look appeared on her face. But in the end, she said with a sigh, "It was our fault that you were involved. Your daughter was just trying to help and my husband..."
She didn’t finish what she was saying, but the difficult look on her face made it very clear what she wanted to say.
"It’s fine. Please don’t mind it." I said in the end to help her out.
Alia gave a nod before saying, "Please enjoy the drinks and if you need any more food, don’t hesitate to tell us."
She went back over to where Olivia was and brought her into the back room to take care of her.
Once they were gone, everyone tried to bring up the mood again.
However, Dorothy didn’t seem like she was happy about how things had turned out.
After looking at the door that Alia and Olivia went through for a bit, she turned to ask , "Papa, why didn’t you help them sooner? Isn’t it right to help those that need our help?"
