"Did you hear the news?"
"Who hasn’t heard it when it’s sothing this shocking?"
"It’s really hard to believe that it actually happened..."
I could hear the sounds of people discussing this all around , though it wasn’t strange since this was the biggest incident that had happened in this place in a long ti.
It would be strange if the people of this town weren’t all talking about it.
Especially since it was a matter that affected a noble.
The day after that night, the pri minister moved quickly as he arrested Baron Greve and confiscated all of his assets. But he didn’t stop at just this, he even arrested all of the conspirators that had worked with Baron Greve during this ti.
It wasn’t just the Orca Gang alone that had been listening to Baron Greve.
He had made sure to bring several other organizations under him since he knew that it was best to spread things out. By spreading things out, it would be harder to track all of these things back to him.
But thanks to the knights that I had captured, the pri minister was able to find all of the people that were involved.
Though even without those knights, I was certain that he would have been able to find these people just with his own intelligence network. It would have just taken him a bit more ti and a bit more effort.
That was the kind of competent person that he was.
Once they had arrested everyone, they had even announced everything that Baron Greve had done and announced his public execution along with all those that were involved.
It seed that as a sign of respect, they hadn’t put Alia’s husband on the list of those that would be publicly executed.
Though that didn’t an that he escaped punishnt.
To make sure that there were no loose ends, he was still sentenced to death.
It turned out that he had done far more than just rack up gambling debts.
During the ti that he had been taking more and more debts, he had actually been doing things for the Orca Gang.
The Orca Gang was no law abiding group to begin with, so the things that Alia’s husband had been doing weren’t things that were considered lawful.
As such, he was given the death sentence as well.
"So who is going to beco our new lord? Have you heard anything?"
Though it was a large deal that a noble was executed, it wasn’t as if it was that big of a deal for the commoners. After all, the nobles were just too far removed from them in the first place that they didn’t really think about the nobles in the first place.
The only thing that mattered to them was how this would affect their lives.
They didn’t really care about the things that Baron Greve had done.
Well, there were so that did care and showed up for the execution to witness his death for himself. They were the people that had been directly affected by the actions of Baron Greve.
He was soone that loved money and won, so he was soone that had committed quite a few cris. Especially when beautiful won were involved, he did things that he really shouldn’t have done.
So those that showed up cheered when he was punished.
The rest of the population only cared about how the new noble would treat them in terms of taxes and such.
Life moved on even though there was this major thing that happened.
But in the end, it could be said that everything was wrapped up properly since there was nothing left to handle.
Or at least there was nothing big that was left to handle.
The main reason that I had done all of this was because I needed a cover for my real intentions. Now that all of this was done, it was finally ti to talk to the person that I had wanted to talk to all along.
Even though she had been involved in the incident, Alia didn’t actually let it affect her and she opened her inn the next day. Though judging by how things went, it seed like she was forcing herself to work.
I didn’t actually talk to her since she was focused on drowning out those feelings with work. But today, she had said that she wanted to talk to about this incident and how she would keep going.
The first thing that was said when I entered the room was...
"Thank you for saving my mom." Olivia was the one that said this while bowing her head 90 degrees.
I was certainly caught off guard seeing her act this way, but I said, "There’s no need for that."
She looked back up at with a complicated look, but eventually she said, "No, you saved her, that is a fact. While it ant that you had to save her from my dad, that doesn’t change that fact still."
I was surprised once more by how mature she was, but I already had a feeling that this would be the case. After all, she was soone that was mature for her age in the ga, so it wouldn’t be strange if she was mature for her age in this world based on the ga.
Once she was done thanking , Alia asked, "What are you planning to do now?"
I didn’t respond right away, but eventually I said, "I actually wanted to take you two with ."
Both Olivia and Alia were caught off guard when they heard this, but Olivia reacted first as she said with an excited voice, "Really? You’re interested in my mom?"
Alia’s face turned red when she heard this and she looked away as if she was embarrassed, but I could see her sneaking peeks at .
With a cough, I said, "This is a misunderstanding. There’s sothing I must discuss with you before you make your decision."
