The rman King walked into the room without a word.
The mont that he did, there was this light that suddenly appeared.
Before this, there had only been a faint light that was in this place that didn’t seem like natural light. It was just that it was too faint to actually determine where the light was coming from, but it was also bright enough to see everything.
Only the light that was in this room was completely different.
It was clearly a kind of magical light that lit up the entire room so that it was easy for us to see everything that was here.
There were a bunch of items that were here that were giving off mana fluctuations, which showed that they were all magic items.
It was just that the rman King wasn’t here for any of these items.
He ignored everything that was in this room and seed to walk in a certain direction.
It was as if there was only one thing that he was interested in.
Following his gaze, I could see that there was this chest that was hidden in a corner of this room. It didn’t seem like this chest was anything special with how it appeared and it even seed like it had been abandoned in the corner because of how normal it was.
Only this seed to be the thing that the rman King was heading towards.
I couldn’t help wondering just what this chest was, so I started looking carefully at it.
But no matter how I looked at it, it really seed like it was just a normal chest.
There wasn’t even a trace of mana around it, which showed that there wasn’t even anything that was actually protecting this chest. So it really didn’t seem to make sense that this thing was so important to the rman King.
When I looked at Ariel, she just shook her head to show that she didn’t know anything either.
I figured that this was the case since the expression on her face showed that she had never even been in this room before.
So all I could do was wait to see what the rman King would do.
Once the rman King was in front of the chest, he just stopped moving and looked at the chest with a complicated look on his face instead of opening it. It was as if he was almost afraid of opening this chest.
I had already figured that there was sothing important in this chest if the rman King cared about it that much, but it seed that it was much more important than I thought it was.
After a mont of silence, the rman King said with a sigh, "When I beca king, my father brought to this room and showed everything. That is the right that one obtains when they beco the king of the rman Empire."
Slowly his expression beca even more complicated as he said, "But this thing...he warned to never open this thing unless our empire was in mortal danger. He said that the things in this chest should remain sealed forever unless there was sothing that risked tearing the empire apart."
With another sigh, the rman King muttered, "He said that even he didn’t know what was inside of this chest and that it contained a secret that ca from the foundation of our empire."
No matter how one listened to this, it really seed like this was the information that had been hidden that Aestum ntioned previously.
It seed like there was a much more complicated story behind all of this...
"We’ll step out then while you look over this." I said all of a sudden, but I didn’t get a chance to move.
"No, stay here." The rman King said in a firm voice.
There was an awkward look that appeared on my face, but I still listened to him in the end.
It was clear that this was a moral dilemma for the rman King, which was why I wanted to give him space to figure this out.
But the way that he told to stay was as if he wanted to be here just to be a witness.
It seed like he wanted here just so that there would be soone objective that could make a final call.
It was an awkward position to be put in, but he was my father in law...
"Hmph, making a big deal over all of this. This is your hidden history, it’s your past cris. There’s no running from it."
The kraken didn’t seem to hold back at all when it said this, but all of us just ignored it as we waited for the rman King to open the chest.
After a long silence, the rman King’s expression changed as if he made up his mind. With a deep breath, he said, "I’m opening it now."
He didn’t reach out towards the chest right away and instead reached into his chest pocket to pull out a key. This key seed to have been placed right in front of his heart, showing that he had kept it safe for the longest ti.
I knew that this had been there the entire ti since we had never separated after coming back.
This key was most likely sothing that the past king, his father had handed to him when he beca king and he had protected the entire ti.
The rman King had probably never expected to ever use this key, but it seed like he had no choice but to use this key now.
After taking out the key, he didn’t hesitate to open the chest.
Once the chest was opened, it didn’t seem like there was anything that ca out of it.
The only thing that was in the chest was a bunch of carved stones that had been soaked in water. However, these stones didn’t seem to show any signs of being deford.
It was clear that they had been made of sothing that was resistant to decay to have been passed down this long.
"It’s all here..." That was the first thing that the rman King said when he picked up one of those stone tablets.
