Though they were mostly the sa colour, they weren’t actually all of the sa race.
There were many different kinds of bugs that ca out of these tunnels to surround us.
Once they approached, it was easier to see what kind of bugs were around us.
There were those that seed like beetles, there were those that seed like spiders, and there were many other kinds of bugs. But by looking closely at the bugs that were around us, I could tell that the main kind of bug that was there were ants.
It seed that ants made up more than half of the total population of bugs that were there.
The rest seed to be made up of the other kinds of bugs.
Once they surrounded us, they suddenly ca to a stop.
They ford a circle around us so that we wouldn’t be able to move in any direction, but they didn’t co too close that they would start pressuring us. Instead, they just surrounded us as if there was sothing that they wanted from us.
Only it really was hard to tell what these bugs wanted since it wasn’t as if we could read their faces.
It seed like they were following orders too with how they surrounded us like this.
There was an awkward silence that filled the air once the bugs stopped moving.
As they had been approaching, the skittering sound that they made had been quite deafening since there were so many of them. But now that they stopped, it really felt eerie with how quiet it beca.
At the sa ti, it wasn’t as if the bugs could even say anything even if they wanted to communicate with us.
So the only thing that could be done was...
"What is it that you want with us?" My voice cut through the silence that lingered in the air.
Klein and the other royal guards couldn’t help looking at with a worried look when they heard this, but then it seed like they steeled themselves. It was as if they ca to the conviction that they would fight to the death if necessary.
Only it didn’t seem like there was a reaction that ca from the bugs.
None of them moved at all as if they didn’t hear what I had just said.
An awkward look appeared on my face since I didn’t know what I had been expecting when I asked this question, but I did expect so kind of reaction.
So for them to not react at all really made feel awkward.
I didn’t say anything as I waited for any kind of response from the bugs.
In the end, it seed like they finally reacted after waiting for a bit. Though the way that they reacted made it a bit hard to understand what they wanted from us.
What happened was that the bugs suddenly moved aside and created a path for us.
With the way that they created this path, it seed that they wanted us to follow this path sowhere. Though looking at the path that had been created, it didn’t seem like they were letting us leave.
Following the path, I could see that this path led to one of the tunnels in the cliff walls.
It seed that they wanted to bring us to an unknown place.
Klein and the royal guards were naturally unhappy to see this as they looked at with wary looks that were advising not to follow this path. It really seed like they wanted us to fight our way out of this place.
I understood how they felt since that was what their job was as royal guards.
However, it wasn’t as if I had brought us here to fight against these bugs. Or it was better to say that I didn’t bring us here to fight against the one that was controlling these bugs.
The reason that I brought us here in the first place was to make contact with the one controlling these bugs.
That was because there was no doubt that the one that was controlling these bugs was a god’s ssenger.
I didn’t sense this at first, but I slowly felt a trace of divine energy coming from among the bugs. It was a very faint trace, but it was still a trace that was there which showed that there was sothing related to the divine about these bugs.
Though I had no idea what that was exactly, I could at least tell that this ant that these bugs were related to the god’s ssenger...
Or at least they were related to the thing that might be posing as the god’s ssenger.
Regardless, there was a reason why they had this divine energy.
"Co on, we’re going in to see what it is." I said without any regard for the others.
Klein and the royal guards had bitter looks on their faces when they heard this, but they still followed . Rather, it was more that they had no choice but to follow since they were still surrounding .
Even if they didn’t agree with what I was doing, they were still following as if they were protecting .
They still ford that full circle around so that I was protected from all sides.
Even if we did argue from ti to ti, they were devoted to their job of protecting ,
Though it certainly looked strange to see us moving in a circle like this.
While we were moving, I could see that Klein and the royal guards were fully on guard against the bugs that were around us. It was as if they were prepared to fight them if they did anything that they didn’t like.
But the bugs just remained surrounding us as if they were watching us.
It certainly was off putting seeing them watching us without moving like that.
It didn’t take long for us to reach the tunnel that they wanted us to enter, but this place wasn’t as dark as I thought it would be.
