"Everyone back away." Percival said once he saw his slash being blocked.
The other heroes all acted how they wanted to act.
So of them moved away when they heard Percival say this.
These heroes were the ones that were recognized as weaker than the others, which was why they knew that they wouldn’t be able to do anything if they were to stay where they were.
The ones that didn’t listen were those that had confidence in their strength.
They knew that they would be able to hold their own against this black ooze that was coming out of the kid.
It was just that there was this strange mood that ca over them.
There wasn’t a single person that could understand how this black ooze was co-existing with this kid. After all, they had already seen the black ooze destroy countless people before with just a single touch.
It really didn’t seem to make sense that it was working with this kid now.
But there really was no denying the scene that was in front of them.
No matter how they tried, it was a fact that this black ooze was coming out of him.
Percival raised his sword for a second slash after observing the black ooze that ca out of the kid, but he didn’t have a chance to fire it as soone stood in front of him.
"Move." Percival said in a cold voice, without a single trace of care for what Ikki was doing.
However, Ikki didn’t move out of the way as he firmly stood there in front of Percival.
Seeing this, Percival said, "There’s no saving him. Do you really want to put the entire world in danger because of this?"
"If we can’t even save the ones in front of us, can we still be considered heroes?" Ikki countered right back at him.
Percival narrowed his eyes when he heard this, but he didn’t bring down his sword.
In fact, it seed like he was even more determined to swing that sword even though Ikki was standing there in front of him. It was as if he didn’t care that Ikki was there and would even cut him down if he didn’t move.
But regardless of how Percival acted, it didn’t seem like Ikki was going to back down.
Of course, it wasn’t as if it was only the two of them that were here.
The black ooze continued to move in a strange manner around the kid, but it didn’t seem like there were more of the black ooze that ca out of him. It seed like it was taking a defensive position around the kid, almost as if it was preparing to protect him.
When the heroes saw this, they couldn’t help wondering just what this black ooze was.
It didn’t behave anything like the black ooze of the Black Tide that they had encountered so far. It was as if this was a completely different kind of black ooze with how it was acting.
Still, none of them let their guards down for even a second since they knew that this thing was dangerous.
No matter how it was acting, it was still the dangerous black ooze that made up the Black Tide.
This was sothing that had taken the lives of countless people and was a disaster that threatened all of humanity to this very day.
Ignoring Percival, Ikki suddenly turned around and said, "What happened to you? Why are you doing this?"
He didn’t even have his guard up as he moved towards the kid surrounded by the black ooze.
It was as if he was trying to appeal to the kid directly, but it also didn’t seem like there was a reaction that ca from the kid. It seed like the kid was just ignoring him with how its head was down.
But then the kid suddenly looked up at him with tears in his eyes and asked, "Big brother, where am I?"
The mont that the heroes heard this, all of them had different reactions.
There were those that were caught off guard seeing this reaction, there were those that distrusted this reaction from the kid, and there were those that remained neutral.
It was quite an even split among the heroes, perfectly splitting them into three different factions.
However, Ikki took advantage of this mont to move forward and say, "You’ve been captured by a powerful evil force, but we’re here to help. If you can, see if you can control the black ooze around you."
When the kid heard this, it seed like he was surprised to see the black ooze that was coming out of him, "What is this? What is this thing around ?"
The way that he said this made it clear that he was sincerely scared of the black ooze and had no idea what was going on.
But if that was the case, then what happened to the kid from before?
"Is there really sothing inside of the black ooze that’s controlling this kid? This has never happened before, so does that an that there’s sothing special about this kid?"
The more that everyone thought about this, the less willing they were to end this matter right away.
Though there were many that had a different reason for wanting to spare the kid.
"Let’s see what makes him so special that he isn’t affected by the black ooze."
In short, they were thinking about turning this kid into so kind of experint.
Only that didn’t matter right now.
The only thing that Ikki cared about was how he would save this kid from the black ooze that had entered his body.
"Let co and take a closer look. Maybe I’ll be able to help you figure sothing out."
The kid gave a slow nod, but it wasn’t as if the black ooze changed its behaviour because of this.
At the very least, it seed like the black ooze wasn’t going to do anything to him right now.
Which was why Ikki slowly approached the kid.
