After they dropped this matter, we were allowed to leave.

There was a trace of disappointnt that appeared in the duke's eyes when he heard this, but he gave a nod of agreent in the end.
He was a sharp man, this was a given since he was able to head an entire ducal family.
So he had been able to spot that there was sothing wrong with this elven village.
It almost seed like they were under so kind of suppression from an unknown force.
While he did want to go around the elven village to sate his curiosity, he knew that it was more important for them to leave since it was a matter of safety.
Zwein might have said it lightly, but he could see the worry that was in his eyes.
In this situation, naturally he would prioritize the safety of his family rather than fulfilling his own wishes.
Since I had received the agreent of the duke, I went back out to where the green haired elder was and told her that we were leaving.
When she heard this, she gave a nod of approval.
She too didn't want us staying too long as long as these envoys from the capital were still here. So she didn't hesitate to bring us back to the portal to the village.
But when we arrived, we found that the elves from the capital were already there.
They completely surrounded the portal and it seed like they were doing sothing to it.
The green haired elder imdiately knitted her brows and went forward to say, "What are you doing? Get away from there imdiately?"
The elves from the capital revealed frowns when they heard this, but when they turned around to see that it was the green haired elder who was saying this, they backed down after a mont of hesitation.
The green haired elder quickly made her way over to the portal and when she saw what shape it was in, she couldn't help knitting her brows.
She turned around to look at the elves from the capital and said, "What is the aning of this? What did you do to the portal?"
The elves from the capital seed a bit annoyed at being accused like this, but before they could say anything…
The elders of this village quickly ca over and said, "Elder Lia, it isn't what you think. There was sothing wrong with the portal and they just ca here to take a look at it."
"Sothing wrong?" The green haired elder repeated before saying, "I think that there's sothing wrong with your heads. It's clear what happened based on the evidence and you're here defending them?"
A few of the villagers also ca forward to say, "Elder, it's true."
When she was faced with all of these people telling her that it was true, the green haired elder really couldn't keep up the fierce tone that she had. With so many people providing evidence, she had no choice but to start accepting this.
But the real problem was that the portal was out.
She gave up on scolding the elders and the elves from the capital to look at the portal.
I made my way out of the carriage and walked over to her side before asking, "How long will it take to fix?"
The green haired elder deeply knitted her brows as she looked at the portal before shaking her head and saying, "I don't know. I've never seen the portal like this before…I have no idea how long it will take."
This ti, it was my turn to knit my brows.
As we were considering what to do, the two green haired elves walked over.
The one on the left said, "Is there a problem?"
The one on the right said, "Do you need so help?"
The way that they said this, it was clear that they had so kind of connection to this.
But the green haired elder refused to take this bait, so she said, "There's no problem at all."
There was a tense silence that filled the air after she said this.
