Chapter 174: Postpartum Jade Syndro

As the days passed by,the negative effects brought by the war gradually faded away in Constantine’s life.Everything seed to be progressing in a positive direction—at least for the Silver Dragon Clan.

But for Leon, life hadn’t seen any significant changes. If anything, the arrival of his little daughter made him a bit busier.Apart from that, everything remained the sa—

Until he noticed that Rosvitha’s mood seed to be getting lower day by day.

Initially,it was her who had proposed to boost the morale of the Silver Dragon Clan, even going as far as organizing a bonfire banquet for the purpose. With her efforts and encouragent, the people of the Silver Dragon Clan gradually regained their spirits, and the operations of the entire clan also began to normalize.

However,Rosvitha, who had facilitated all this, seed to be at odds with the general atmosphere.

Leon could sense that her despondency and sorrow weren’t stemming from work pressure.Sothing else seed to be troubling her.

In the past few days,Rosvitha’s emotional issues had worsened.Sotis, she even intentionally avoided Leon, leaving him puzzled.

Did he say sothing wrong that upset her?It shouldn’t be the case. They understood each other well, knew each other’s limits, and if they sensed crossing a line, they would promptly back off.

Moreover,if she were truly angry, given Rosvitha’s personality, she would either resolve the matter on the spot or confront Leon about it.She wouldn’t linger in lancholy for days like she was doing now.

After much hesitation,Leon decided to talk to her.

In the evening, with so ti left before dinner,Rosvitha finished her day’s work and sat alone on the swing in the backyard.

The setting sun cast her shadow long and slender, while her silver hair gently swayed in the evening breeze, her beautiful face filled with sorrow.

The swing moved with a small amplitude, the iron chains and wooden board making a soft creaking sound, not too disturbing.

Her silver eyes gazed at the ground, her thoughts drifting back to a long ti ago.

“I have one request for you.Within a year, don’t let Leon return to the Empire.”

This was what they agreed upon when she first t Teg.But back then,Rosvitha hadn’t even considered letting Leon go.Let alone a year, even if it was ten or a hundred years, she would keep Leon by her side, captive for life.It was her punishnt for this arrogant human who dared to offend her.

However,so much had happened since then, and her relationship with Leon had slowly changed over ti.

Both she and Leon had no intention of using each other to understand their respective races because a single individual could never represent the entire group. They only focused on understanding each other.

And the longer they spent together, the more the image of Leon in Rosvitha’s mind diverged from what it was initially. In the past, she only saw him as an enemy,a scoundrel who would taunt her even at death’s door.

But as their daughters grew up,as she went through the ten months of pregnancy, and as their last precious child was born, during this process,Leon’s finer qualities also began to manifest.

Responsibility,integrity,and courage.

Among all the people Rosvitha had encountered,Leon exemplified these three points the best. There was no doubt he was an excellent father, and as a pseudo-husband,he was quite competent as well.

His love was pure;when he poured all his love into soone, that person would undoubtedly be the happiest in the world.

From the very beginning,he never looked down upon their daughters for being born of a mixed heritage between him and his enemy.Instead,he spared no effort in loving them unconditionally.

While the youngest daughter was still too young to ntion,Noia and Muen were deeply imrsed in Leon’s profound love.

Rosvitha could clearly sense the difference between her two daughters and other young dragons.

They enjoyed life more, loved it more, and had a much stronger concept of”family”than other young dragons. This was an emotion that most dragonkind couldn’t possess.

Rosvitha knew that it was all thanks to Leon.If it were solely up to her, perhaps her daughters would still awkwardly refer to her as”Lady Mother”even now.He had long evolved from being an initial captive to becoming a part of this”family.”

And after the Battle of Constantine, too many mysteries erged one after another, all coincidentally related to Master Leon’s agreent.

She vaguely felt that in the distant human empire, there must be a war without smoke waiting for Leon.Logically,he had to return there to solve these surfaced mysteries.Emotionally,Teg’s actions might also require Leon’s cooperation and support.

Now,the year since she and Teg made their agreent has passed. This was the reason for her lancholy over the past few days.

Although she had already made up her mind, she was still engaged in aningless self-doubt here.

What’s the point of keeping silent? How long can intentional avoidance truly conceal things?Leon would eventually find out,and he would eventually leave here.

“Sigh…”

It was hard to say how many tis she had sighed today, each one heavier than the last.

“Creak…creak…”

Suddenly, her back was lightly pushed, and the swing began to sway. She didn’t need to turn around to know it was Leon with his broad, slightly cool hand.

She had been so imrsed in her mories that she hadn’t noticed when Leon had co up behind her.

“Is it fun,Your Majesty?”Leon asked as he continued to push the swing.

Rosvitha gripped the iron chains on either side of the swing, her silver hair dancing in the air.She kept her eyes down, feeling the rhythm of her body moving up and down. Her voice was low,”Why are you here?”

“I noticed you haven’t been in a good mood lately. Is sothing wrong?”

“No.”

Her response was sowhat cold.It was well-known that when girls said they weren’t angry,it didn’t necessarily an they weren’t.Until they exploded in anger, that anger was like a cat in a box—you couldn’t know if it was alive or dead until you opened the box.

“Co on,talk to .Is it…postpartum depression?”

“No,it has nothing to do with giving birth.”

“Oh…then it’s about ,isn’t it?”

Rosvitha closed her eyes, sotis wishing he wasn’t so perceptive.

Seeing Rosvitha remain silent,Leon knew he had guessed right.

He gently supported Rosvitha’s back, slowly bringing the swing to a stop, then stepped around to stand in front of her, hands clasped in front of his chest.

“Co on,Your Majesty,”he said,”tell ,what did I do to make you angry?”

Rosvitha sat on the swing, lifting her gaze. The setting sun backlighted Leon, casting a glow on Rosvitha’s profile.

He stood tall and straight, his gaze higher than Rosvitha’s.The two of them locked eyes, neither of them flinching.

This scene reminded Rosvitha of three years ago in the dungeon when Leon had looked at her like this.Only now,the cool evening breeze was much more comfortable than the dampness of the dungeon.

He was still as ruggedly handso as ever, his scars exuding a masculine charm.

Rosvitha opened her mouth, thinking she should take this opportunity to tell him about Teg’s one-year agreent.

But just as she was about to speak,Muen’s voice suddenly ca from afar.

“Mom,Dad,it’s ti for dinner!Big sis said not to linger there,or we won’t wait for you!”

Leon turned his head and replied,”Tell your sister,if she keeps peeking at Mom and Dad,Dad won’t teach her magic anymore!”

As soon as he finished speaking,Noia erged from the bushes beside Muen, holding a scroll in her hand, her tail standing straight. She shouted to Leon,”That’s absolutely not allowed,Dad!”

Leon chuckled, then redirected his gaze to Rosvitha.”Let’s go,ti to go back for dinner.”
