Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You Vol. 4 Ch. 46
Claudia led Leon to another bookshelf. This one was more densely packed compared to where the original magic books were stored, with several volus arranged in neat rows.
"Is this also original magic?" Leon asked.
"I already told you, didn’t I? Your current constitution isn’t suitable for using original magic—it’s more trouble than it’s worth. What I’m giving you is this."
As she spoke, Claudia reached out, pulling an ancient book from the shelf and handing it to Leon.
Leon took it with both hands, looking down at the cover. The book’s design was simple—a black cover with a plain title embossed in gold: *Supersensory?*
Leon scratched his head and flipped through the book, but besides the title and the peculiar cover, there was no other information—not even a label indicating the type of magic, like *Nine Hells Gate,* which was marked as body art on its cover.
"Is it so kind of sensory magic?" Leon asked.
"It is. Back at the Academy of Elents, sensory magic was taught to cadets in the Dragon Corps. While there’s a dedicated reconnaissance unit, knowing so sensory spells can be handy on the battlefield."
Leon, however, had never specialized in such support-oriented magic.
"Usually, if I encounter an enemy, I’d just eliminate them right away. By the ti I’d detect them, General Lai would already be sitting on the dragon king’s corpse sipping tea."
"This isn’t sensory magic," Claudia corrected him, her tone serious. "Supersensory is considered a form of body art."
Leon blinked in surprise, a bit of disappointnt creeping into his voice. "Body art… again?"
His disappointnt stemd from the fact that he was no longer the weakling he used to be. Now possessing the physique of a dragon warrior, his magic reserves were even greater than at his peak, giving him the freedom to fight like a soaring dragon.
The body art technique *Nine Hells Gate* was rely another tool for Leon, but with sufficient magical reserves, he could unleash powerful spells without it. However, *Nine Hells Gate* placed a trendous strain on his body.
If he ever reached the ninth gate, even with the heart-shielding dragon scales Rosvisser had implanted in him, his heart would likely be shattered by the sheer backlash of power.
"Don’t be so quick to get disappointed," Claudia said with a slight smile. "While *Supersensory* is classified as body art, it enhances more than just your physical strength."
Leon raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Tell more, please."
"Let ask you, Leon. In a typical fight, when an enemy attacks, your eyes see the movent first, which is then transmitted through your nerves to your brain. The brain then reacts and sends a command to your body to either defend or evade, right?"
Leon thought for a mont before nodding, "Yes, that’s correct."
"The faster a person can react, the better they can make the right decision in a critical mont and choose the optimal counterattack."
Claudia continued, "And you do this quite well. You not only wield powerful close-combat magic but also analyze the battlefield in real-ti and adapt your moves to the environnt."
"But—"
She paused, ensuring she had Leon’s full attention.
"You will get tired."
Leon was caught off guard. "Tired?"
"Yes. No matter how strong you are, your stamina has limits. This isn’t just for you; it applies to every being on Samael Continent. No one has unlimited stamina."
"If a battle drags on, your body will fatigue, and your reaction ti will slow down accordingly."
"And *Supersensory* was created by the ancestors precisely to overco this limitation."
Leon took a deep breath. "So, *Supersensory* can help surpass my physical limits?"
"That would be too boring. I wouldn’t give you a skill so dull," she said with a confident smile. "*Supersensory* will allow your body to reach a completely new state."
"A new state?"
"Have you ever had an experience where, say, you accidentally knocked over a glass with your left hand while eating? Before you even consciously noticed it, your left hand instinctively moved to catch the glass, preventing it from shattering."
Leon blinked, then nodded. "Yes, I’ve had monts like that."
"Good. *Supersensory* turns that kind of reflex into a skill for combat."
After the example, Claudia formally introduced the effects of *Supersensory*.
"As you train further, your senses will beco sharper, and once you fully master *Supersensory,* your body will respond to enemy attacks instinctively without waiting for commands from your brain."
Leon’s eyes widened. "Is… is it really that powerful?"
"Compared to the mysterious allure of original magic, *Supersensory* might not sound like much."
"But keep in mind, only soone skilled in combat will get the most out of *Supersensory*."
"Think about it—imagine an enemy ticulously planning an ambush, only for you to dodge effortlessly as if you saw it coming. Frustrating, isn’t it?"
So the scene might go like this:
"General Lai walks into a trap."
"General Lai unknowingly approaches danger."
"General Lai is seemingly on a path to destruction."
"General Lai triumphs and declares victory."
Enemy: "Damn, this guy’s got hacks on."
"Training *Supersensory* is much harder than *Nine Hells Gate,* but once mastered, it becos second nature, like muscle mory, and will activate automatically."
"You know , Claudia; I never shy away from a challenge."
"That much is true."
Leon hadn’t achieved his current skill level just from talent alone but through hard work, overcoming a hellish past, and the teachings of his master.
"So why did you say *Supersensory* suits ?" Leon asked.
"A reckless fighter with maxed-out dodge skills… just think about it; it’s terrifying, right?"
"Oh, so you think I’m a reckless fighter?"
"That’s right. You’re very perceptive."
"Yeah, I guess I am a bit of a thick-headed fighter myself!" Leon replied, chuckling.
Claudia laughed softly, "Well then, you’ve gained another skill from . Just rember to repay the favor soday."
"I won’t forget, Claudia."
She nodded, "Alright, let’s go see your master."
"Alright."
They left the library, Leon clutching three manuals—two in his left hand that he’d prepared for himself, *Swift Fla* and *Heartfire,* and in his right hand, the *Supersensory* manual he intended to study next.
If General Lai’s hands weren’t shaking from excitent, he might even have picked up another ability for his wife.
"Ah, well, what can I say? Leon Cosmod just doesn’t like to bring trouble upon himself."
"It’s all thanks to my superior personal standards and flexible moral bottom line."
“Who shows up at the Lai residence, only to eat and take everything in sight? Have so decorum!”
As he inwardly marveled at his actions, he overheard Claudia speaking to a Sea Dragon servant ahead.
"Azi, go to the herb room and bring a Ghost Lotus."
"Yes, Your Highness."
Leon’s steps faltered, and he couldn’t help swallowing. A past mory surfaced in his mind.
I knew it! he thought.
When Konstantin ntioned the Ghost Lotus, it had sparked a sense of familiarity in him. It was the herb that Claudia had once used to save his master, who had suffered severe heart injuries at the hands of the Razor Trio.
Back then, Claudia had even sent Leon to the herb room to fetch the Ghost Lotus.
Leon bit his lip, muttering to himself.
Heh~~
Look, I may have a high personal standard and moral bottom line, but flexibility is essential!
"So… Claudia?" he called out.
"Hmm?"
"What are you using the Ghost Lotus for?" Leon asked.
"Oh, it’s for your master. His body hasn’t fully recovered, and he needs monthly treatnts to aid the healing process. Normally, recovery takes about six months, but I’m impatient, so I’m going with the Ghost Lotus."
"I see…"
"Wait… what’s with that look?" Claudia eyed Leon suspiciously.
A mont later, she understood.
"Cosmod! Why don’t I just hand over all of Atlantis to you?"
