The final battle had begun.

Claudia raised her right hand. A mont later, a mist surged from her palm and quickly filled the stone platform where she and Leon stood.

As the water mist spread, Claudia’s entire figure gradually blurred until she completely vanished.

A-rank water magic: Veil of Mist.

Seeing this, Isha blinked in surprise.

“Invisibility magic, huh...”

Principal Wilson nodded.

“Unlike ordinary concealnt-type spells that mask one’s presence, Veil of Mist doesn’t just hide the user behind fog or visual obstructions. Instead, it adheres countless microscopic water droplets to the caster’s body and alters their internal structure, refracting light in just the right way to achieve full invisibility. The user must possess incredibly refined control over water magic to use this spell perfectly.”

After listening, Isha nodded thoughtfully and couldn't help but mutter, “Honestly, I thought Claudia wouldn’t pull anything fancy, knowing full well she’s not a match for my brother-in-law. But it looks like she’s seriously going all out to win.”

Principal Wilson chuckled.

“A future Sea Dragon Queen must have that kind of will to fight.”

As they spoke, the mist thickened even further.

Leon stood in the dense fog, maintaining a guarded stance.

Shhh— shhh—

The sound of a sole scraping against stone echoed faintly.

Claudia could hide her body—but not the sound of her footsteps.

Leon whirled around and struck toward the source of the sound with a heavy punch.

The gust from his fist swept the mist away in a burst.

But Claudia’s silhouette was nowhere to be seen.

Before Leon could react, a tail slid in from his flank—

And sent him flying several ters away.

Luckily, Leon managed to raise his arms at the last second to block. His elbows bent slightly, and he didn’t lose his center of gravity; his feet dragged twin brake-marks across the floor as he slid back.

Regaining his balance, Leon looked toward where the attack had co from—Claudia was already gone.

“As far as I know, brother-in-law’s never learned any perception-type magic. With this fog and that Veil spell, there’s no way he can track Claudia’s movents.”

Isha paused, then muttered under her breath:

“But why isn’t his extrasensory sense activating either...”

KABOOM—!

A thunderclap tore through the air, interrupting Isha’s thoughts.

She quickly looked up.

Lightning roiled through the mist, but only Leon’s figure could be seen.

It was a barrage of misdirection attacks—anwhile, Claudia continued to ambush him.

After several rounds of engagent, the fog finally began to disperse.

Leon exhaled lightly, eyes locked on Claudia a short distance away.

Despite Leon failing to land a single hit during the entire skirmish, Claudia’s expression showed neither pride nor joy.

The graceful woman furrowed her brow and asked in a low voice:

“Why didn’t you use your extrasensory sense? I know for a fact you could’ve dodged those attacks if you’d activated it.”

Claudia knew well she didn’t have the Silver Dragon Clan’s insane speed. Even while fully invisible, her attacks could be easily avoided with extrasensory detection.

Yet Leon had clearly not used it.

“Is it because you think I’m not worth it, or—”

“Actually, senior,” Leon interrupted her, “I’ve been thinking about sothing for a long ti.”

“What is it?” Claudia asked.

Leon lowered his gaze, staring at his palm, sensing the mana surging through the circuits beneath his skin.

“If I hadn’t learned the techniques you taught ... what kind of fighter would I be today?”

As he spoke, he slowly clenched his hand into a fist. Then he looked up at Claudia.

“I’m not entirely sure, but I probably wouldn’t be here sparring with you. I might’ve already died in so life-or-death battle. So... thank you. For everything you taught all these years, senior. And as a way of showing my respect—during this fight...”

Leon slowly adopted his opening stance.

“I won’t use a single technique you taught .”

“Dora Dragon King” may have been a joke nickna, but what it truly represented was Claudia’s presence in Leon’s journey of constant growth and strength.

Not using Claudia’s techniques was his way of honoring her.

This was the first ti Claudia had ever heard the word “respect” from this guy’s mouth.

She’d always assud he saw her as an NPC to upgrade from—assigning points here, patching up weaknesses there.

The thought made her smile.

“All right. I understand. Show what you’ve really got, Leon.”

“Please guide , senior.”

The water mist cleared once more.

Round two—began.

...

...

Inside the Saint Heath Academy auditorium, Principal Wilson and three committee representatives sat at the front podium, observing the final results of the vice principal election.

The six candidates stood below, naturally splitting into two groups:

Leon, Isha, Claudia;

Beren, Kale, Sita.

While waiting for the final announcent, the candidates were allowed to move freely.

Isha took the opportunity to tend to Claudia.

Big sis dipped a cotton swab into the dicine bottle and gently dabbed it on the corner of Claudia’s lips.

“Geez, senior, what’s the rush? You could’ve let the school doctor patch you up before coming in.”

Claudia winced slightly but shook her head.

“Just a scratch. Mwah...”

“Ah, sorry sorry, senior, I’ll be gentler.”

“Seriously, sis, go easy—”

“You’ve got so nerve, don’t you?”

Isha turned to glare at Leon. “Senior is basically your second ntor and you actually dared to hit her?”

“I said I was taking the match seriously...”

“Still mouthing off, huh!”

General Leon surrendered instantly. “I was wrong, totally wrong.”

Claudia chuckled softly and said, “Don’t bla Leon. I insisted on having the match in the first place. Besides, there’s a difference between going all-out and taking sothing seriously.”

Isha raised an eyebrow. “What’s the difference?”

Claudia glanced briefly at Beren seated on the opposite side, then looked back.

“When Leon goes all-out, it just ans he’s using everything at his disposal to win.”

“But when he takes it seriously... I could feel it in every move—he was analyzing my patterns, tracking my habits, controlling his power, trying to keep up a close exchange with .”

“This ‘treating different opponents with different attitudes’ thing is pretty obvious when you pay attention.”

She paused, rubbed the sore corner of her lip again, then muttered:

“Though yeah... next ti, try not to hit so hard.”

“No worries, senior. When we get back, I’ll have little Ross beat him into a pig’s head and send you pictures.”

Claudia almost burst out laughing—but didn’t dare go overboard, or she’d tug her wounded lip.

The chatter quickly ended as Principal Wilson rang the bell in front of him, signaling the candidates to look his way.

“Thank you for your patience, everyone. I will now announce the final results of this election.”

The mont had finally co. Everyone held their breath.

“Your results are based on support rates from all mbers of the School Committee. The process was completely fair and impartial, judged solely on your performance during the campaign.”

If anyone else had said that, it might’ve sounded debatable—but Saint Heath Academy had always been strictly neutral. Bribes and under-the-table deals didn’t exist here.

Principal Wilson continued:

“Each mber of the Committee may support up to two candidates—or abstain. So total percentages won’t add up to one [N O V E L I G H T] hundred. Put simply, the higher your support rate, the higher your rank.”

“Sixth place: Sita. Support rate: 23%.”

“Fifth place: Kale. Support rate: 31%.”

“Fourth place: Isha. Support rate: 47%.”

“Not bad for soone just coasting through the whole process!”

“Third place: Beren. Support rate: 62%.”

As the ranking climbed, the atmosphere grew increasingly tense.

Only Leon and Claudia remained.

And the final result—

“Second place...”

“Claudia. Support rate: 91%.”

Principal Wilson folded the speech notes in his hand and looked down at Leon.

“Congratulations, Prince. Your support rate is 97%, making you the winner of this election. And the highest-scoring candidate across the last five vice principal elections.”
