At the inn, Felyn stepped out of the bathroom, freshly showered.

He had used the teleportation seal to return before the guards entered Dorothy’s room.

As he dried his hair, he glanced at the communication seal on the table.

A ssage from Dorothy.

[Brother Felyn, I don’t even know what ca over tonight… Maybe it was my magic acting up… I’m sorry, Brother Felyn.]

[If you’ve started to hate , I understand. You can cancel our contract. I won’t hold it against you.]

So it really was because of her magic?

Felyn sat on the bed and began typing his reply.

Was it because he lied to her, and her emotions spiraled, triggering a magical surge that caused her to lose control?

That was the only explanation that made sense.

Otherwise, how could the sweet, well-mannered princess suddenly turn into soone so intense?

After a few exchanged ssages and assuring her that he wouldn’t be ending their contract, Felyn finally had a mont to himself.

If he could, he would’ve gladly slept for three days straight.

But it wasn’t ti to sleep yet.

He sat at his desk, fighting off drowsiness as he opened his notebook and began recording everything that had happened today.

That way, if Dorothy ever lost control again, he wouldn’t be caught off guard.

Only by preparing thoroughly could he offer the best client experience, and protect himself in the process.

By the ti he finished, it was already late at night.

Felyn closed the notebook and stretched, feeling the ache in his arms and the fatigue throughout his body.

Today had really been sothing.

Finally, the lights in his room went dark, and the gentle embrace of night wrapped around him, guiding him into sleep.

The night passed like a fleeting visitor, and a new sun rose once again.

As sunlight slipped through the gaps in the curtains, the Royal Capital began to stir.

rchants could be heard setting up their stalls, and in the distance, church bells rang softly through the morning air.

Felyn’s room was still quiet, but the world outside had already begun its daily bustle.

Miss Bernice sat on the rooftop railing, one hand supporting her cheek, the other casually brushing her short black-and-red hair. Her long, pale legs swung lightly in the breeze, the morning light casting a soft glow on her slightly drowsy face.

Miss Daiyi stood in the middle of her room, which was covered in clothes, fretting over what to wear to a noon banquet at the royal palace.

Princess Dorothy sat at her vanity, weaving her pinkish-purple hair. Even though she hadn’t slept well due to the excitent from last night, her body’s magic kept her complexion flawless, there wasn’t a hint of fatigue on her delicate face. As she tidied up, she glanced now and then at Felyn’s divine affinity report pinned beside the mirror, lost in thought.

anwhile, Felyn was still sound asleep, flirting in his dreams with a shy little maid.

9:30 a.m.

Felyn stretched and sat up in bed.

After a quick wash, he ordered breakfast. With no scheduled tasks this morning, he planned to eat and then go train.

Just as he took the last bite of his fried egg, the communication seal on his nightstand lit up.

A ssage from Viloti.

[Felyn, want to have breakfast together?]

He assud she had a question, so he tapped a reply onto the seal.

[I just finished eating. What’s up, Viloti?]

[Nothing much. I just wanted to bring you breakfast.]

Her reply ca almost instantly.

Felyn blinked.

That ssage felt… familiar.

He used to bring Viloti breakfast all the ti during their service sessions.

Was this a reversal of roles?

[Thanks, Viloti. But isn’t your hotel pretty far from mine? We’re not exactly on the sa side of town.]

Yesterday, he had asked and learned that their hotel was in a completely different part of the capital.

[If you want to eat it, I’ll bring it—no matter how far.]

Sothing clicked in Felyn’s mind.

[Viloti… you’re not already on your way to bring breakfast, are you?]

This ti, her response took longer. A full minute passed before a ssage appeared.

[No.]

Good. At least she didn’t make the trip for nothing.

Felyn drew back the curtains and pushed open the window.

The crisp early-autumn air, already ward by the morning sun, carried the scent of harvest into the room.

He leaned out and looked over the Royal Capital.

Down on the streets, student volunteers wearing armbands swept diligently.

Not far away, a student patrol unit from the Royal Capital Alliance stood under a tree, frowning at three drunkards passed out on the ground.

A few girls with ssy hair hugged books as they walked past the breakfast shop, discussing what to order.

Felyn’s eyes wandered lazily across the street.

He didn’t discover the aning of life.

But he did spot a familiar face.

Viloti stood on the corner like a cherry blossom tree in full bloom. Her cold expression created a vacuum around her—people instinctively kept their distance.

Today, she wore a light blue floral V-neck dress and low-heeled canvas shoes—simple, clean, and beautiful.

Slung over her shoulder was a cream-colored canvas bag, its bulge suggesting sothing was inside.

Felyn raised an eyebrow.

Wait… didn’t she just say she wasn’t on her way here?

Then why is she right outside my hotel?

He had told her yesterday where he was staying—and that he was only in the capital for work.

“Viloti!”

Felyn leaned out and waved.

Viloti flinched as she heard her na, her shoulders jumping. She quickly looked up—and saw him.

She waved back, hesitantly. Then, as if second-guessing herself, slowly pulled her hand back.

“Did you co to see ?” Felyn called down.

Viloti nodded. Her lips moved slightly, “…Mm.”

But there was no way he could hear such a small voice.

She took a deep breath, words forming on her lips—but none ca out.

Nothing was harder for a socially anxious girl than speaking loudly in public.

Instead, she quickly opened her bag and grabbed the communication seal.

[I was going to bring you breakfast. But since you’ve already eaten… I’ll head back.]

Not long after sending that ssage, she saw Felyn walk out of the hotel and down to the street.

“Didn’t you say you weren’t here?” He asked.

Viloti gripped the strap of her bag tightly, then tilted her head up and explained, “You asked if I was on the way, but I was already here. So technically, I wasn’t on the way.”

Felyn was speechless.

His forr clients were all getting way too clever.

“The inn has free breakfast, you know. No need to bring food.”

“Got it.”

Viloti nodded without protest. She simply stood there, quietly watching him.

Even if he didn’t eat it, it didn’t matter.

She had gotten to see Felyn again—

That was enough.

She had already engraved yesterday’s Felyn into her mory.

Now she would do the sa with today’s version.

“…But honestly, I didn’t eat enough. The eggs here were awful. If you don’t mind, I’d love to eat what you brought.”

As soon as he said that, Viloti’s icy expression lted. Her eyes lit up like morning sun reflecting on fresh snow.

She pulled a small wooden box from her bag. Inside were several at pies.

“I tried them yesterday and thought they were really good. So I wanted you to try them too.”

That was why Miss Viloti had crossed half the capital early this morning—to see him.

She pressed a high-grade heating seal to the box and waited as it ward.

“Oh, right. Viloti. How do you have ti to co out today? Weren’t you supposed to have a eting with the capital’s rchant guild?”

He could already hear the sizzle of the pies as they heated. The sll filled the air.

“…It got postponed again,” Viloti said. She paused, then added, “Adeline ran into so serious trouble. Things aren’t going well.”
