Defense Intelligence Agency?

Jillian and Jamie exchanged a furtive glance, unable to fathom how the military intelligence departnt got involved in a terrorist attack case.

Could it be because the main culprit is connected to a Marine Corps mber?

But the Marine Corps has always been under the Navy's jurisdiction, it shouldn't involve the DIA!

Not to ntion, their main target wasn't even the key terrorists but an ordinary Saflo Baron!

However, Jillian did not question directly.

Since the other party managed to get the vice-director of the New York branch to personally appear, it was clear they were carrying orders from higher-ups, and it was pointless to argue now.

So she obediently handed over the lab results in her hand.

The young soldier collected the files, packed all the mine explosion fragnts and poisonous needles into brown paper bags, while the middle-aged officer took out a docunt and handed it to the three of them: "I need your signatures on this docunt."

At the mont the docunt was presented, the Black vice-director tactfully turned his back, seemingly wanting no part in this matter.

Seeing the color of the docunt header, Jamie couldn't help but twitch an eyebrow.

Yellow!

The classification levels in the United States are similar to those in most countries, generally divided into Top Secret, Secret, Confidential, and Unclassified, marked by orange, red, blue, and green respectively. Only sensitive, isolated, or special project information uses a special yellow, as it often indicates intelligence of a military nature, mainly to protect the sources and thods of national intelligence.

TOP SECRET // Special Information // Restricted dissemination only to those with the proper clearance level and need-to-know information.

After reading the header, Jillian knew this was a highly classified docunt, cursing her luck silently, she quickly signed her na at the end of the docunt.

Besides her and Jamie, the technician from the inspection room, Blake, also signed it.

"I hope you all strictly adhere to the confidentiality regulations and safeguard national security and interests."

The middle-aged officer gave a final warning before leaving the room with his subordinates.

Leaving the Black vice-director looking at Jillian and Jamie, only able to shrug, indicating his powerlessness.

"As for Saflo Baron, you don't need to concern yourselves with him. Focus on investigating the 9.8 New York bombing case and give the public an explanation."

"Understood, Vice-director!"

Jillian left the words behind and hurriedly left with Jamie.

The two of them found a room with anti-eavesdropping features.

"Jamie, you..."

"Shh!"

As soon as the door was closed, Jillian impatiently began to complain, but Jamie reached out to interrupt her.

He discreetly glanced around every corner of the room, then took a signal detector from his pocket.

After confirming there was no eavesdropping equipnt, he allowed Jillian to continue.

"Don't you find this whole thing odd? The DIA is always tasked with collecting, organizing, and safeguarding military intelligence. When did they start ddling in counter-terrorism?"

It's well known that among the seventeen existing intelligence agencies in the United States, aside from the Director of National Intelligence, the remaining sixteen each have their specific duties, with the Defense Intelligence Agency being part of the Ministry of Defense, primarily engaged in intelligence activities concerning foreign ard forces.

While an incident like this morning's terrorist bombing is always under the jurisdiction of the National Security Division, which ans the FBI, for counterintelligence and counterterrorism activities.

Jamie squinted slightly, a shadow of seriousness crossing his angular face.

"The DIA's involvent in counter-terrorism suggests only one possibility: this case involves military secrets. Do you rember what you said in the technical inspection room earlier?"

"Baron is a Japanese spy?"

"Highly possible. Japan has always been at the forefront of optical fields, and they could undoubtedly develop such optical camouflage coating. Plus, the needles with hallucinogen components also originate from the Japanese Yakuza, so the conclusion is obvious."

Jamie took out his phone and sent Jillian the investigation information regarding Baron's identity.

"Judging from Baron's father's role in the Marine Corps, Japan likely started infiltrating Baron's family over a decade ago. After all, the USMC's status is special. It's not only a rapid response force but also the only military power directly commanded by the president, involving nurous secrets. This would also explain why Baron, despite his youth, has such strong counter-surveillance capabilities."

"I've studied the bomb disposal theory he described in his live stream, which is very similar to USMC's bomb disposal thods. But his father passed away when he was seven, so the only possibility is that Japan obtained USMC training thods from his father and then secretly supplented them with military assistance, remaining hidden in New York as a spy!"

"While your analysis is plausible, there are a few points that don't quite add up..."

Jillian frowned, explaining word by word:

"Firstly, if Baron really is a Japanese-trained spy, his main goal should be espionage and intelligence gathering. Even under threat from bombers, it shouldn't affect the mission, nor would he use that mysterious mine to expose his identity. Secondly, would the Japanese governnt really spend so much effort to cultivate Baron just so he could join so petty gangs?"

She raised her phone, pointing at Baron's identity background, which had no involvent in the military field, not even close to governnt units, all involving petty theft and minor cris.

"Perhaps he's just not old enough yet..."

"With a criminal record like that, even reaching adulthood would prevent him from entering governnt or military systems. Sothing's not right, the DIA's involvent with Baron's matter might have another reason."

"You still think that Baron is like Jiang Songyuan, one of the 7472?"

"At the very least, they have the sa relentless dedication when dealing with crises."
