The military dog nad "Champion" sniffed the suspect’s clothes twice before heading into the woods, followed imdiately by the Ard Police commander giving the order, and the group trailing closely behind.

Along the way, Champion walked and sniffed continuously without pausing.

The main force gradually spread out, forming three long horizontal columns.

In the front, the smallest group, consisting of ard police and special police holding riot shields, primarily served as scouts, remaining highly vigilant to the woodland surroundings to alert and protect the rear military and police forces when necessary.

The second column was responsible for a rough search, checking for trampled shrubs, broken branches, suspicious items, and so on.

The rearmost column was tasked with a detailed search, focusing on special footprints and areas overlooked by the second column.

Gu Ji was currently in the second column.

Every hour, personnel from the three columns would rotate.

This was because a carpet search of the mountain itself is an extrely tedious and lengthy operation, often lasting seven to eight hours, and even several days at tis. Since it is impossible for humans to maintain high-intensity concentration continuously, the search team rotates to preserve the health of the police and ard forces and to maximize operational efficiency and precision.

Gao Bo adjusted his gun sling, hanging the gun in front of his chest with the muzzle down, the strap tightened. Most of the special police did the sa, adopting this lowest-level patrol alert posture commonly used for patrol and search operations.

As the full armant of the special police is already burdenso, this thod of slinging the gun on the chest is relatively more comfortable, allowing them to conserve precious energy.

Under usual circumstances, ard police and special police carry out tasks in small teams, avoiding pointing the muzzle forward to prevent accidental injuries to teammates. In urban areas, this practice helps prevent public tension and avoids unnecessary disturbances that could lead to severe safety issues.

Moreover, hanging the rifle in front of the chest can better protect the weapon, effectively reducing the risk of it being snatched by enemies. Additionally, if a special police officer is attacked with a lee weapon, the gun on their chest may block the attack.

Gao Bo was about to chat with Gu Ji but noticed that Gu Ji’s way of holding the gun was different. Besides having the stock angled upwards and the muzzle angled downwards, Gu Ji’s right hand always grasped the grip, with his left hand slightly placed on the front side of the gun.

"Isn’t the tactical sling retractable? Isn’t it tiring to keep holding it?"

"Just used to it."

Gu Ji said it calmly.

This posture, a variant of low-ready two-handed holding, was mostly used in scenarios with significant enemy threat, requiring rapid reaction.

Gao Bo glanced around and noticed the Ard Police Force doing the sa.

Because the training styles of the Ard Police and the police slightly differ, in the eyes of many veteran ard police instructors, keeping a firm grip on the gun allows one to fire before the enemy, shoot before the enemy, and even if it doesn’t hit the enemy, at least your gun fires before theirs, which might save your life.

So despite modern firearms having retractable slings, with so even having an additional side strap for stability during climbing operations, many ard police prefer patrolling with both hands gripping the gun out of habit and caution.

In the ga scenarios Gu Ji faced, which were all high-risk environnts, this style gradually ford.

The only downside of this holding position is its inflexibility for tactical maneuvers, with relatively slower advancent speed.

Gao Bo said nothing further, adopting Gu Ji’s posture as well.

Since the two often went to train at the police training base, Gao Bo realized he lagged behind Gu Ji significantly, not understanding what magical elixir this kid had consud, as his various tactical skills and combat experience seed endless.

Following his lead would undoubtedly be right.

Zhang Wenjun also noticed their actions but rely raised an eyebrow subtly without comnt.

At this mont, a voice suddenly erged in his external tactical headset.

Simultaneously, other commanders of the ard police and special police, including Zeng Dan from the National Security Bureau, also received phone calls.

Monts later, all parties concluded their exchanges.

Zhang Wenjun pressed the walkie-talkie button, speaking on the Special Police Team 4 channel:

"We just received new intelligence: the special police intelligence technician, through surveillance video analysis, discovered that the four main suspects employed minor disguises and deliberately crossed several high traffic and heavy traffic light areas, altering routes multiple tis. According to technician Zhao Hua, they are using the TEDD principles, intentionally creating an accordion effect to evade unknown National Security agents and police tracking. The Intelligence Analysis Group has determined these suspects are likely trained as professional agents or spies and are not rely using basic counter-surveillance techniques. They may even counter-track us. Stay extrely alert and conduct a thorough search!"

"Yes!"

The Ard Police and Special Police replied in unison.

The so-called "TEDD principles" refer to the four major principles of surveillance: knowing the target, familiarizing with the environnt, having the ability to integrate, and being adept at adaptation. These are the skills and knowledge typically trained and learned by public security criminal police during tracking and intelligence missions.

Gao Bo couldn’t help but exclaim in astonishnt.

"Wow, are these criminals really at that high a level?"

"It must be the foreign influence behind them causing this trouble."

While saying this, Gu Ji was secretly pondering the identity of the main suspect, Sun Hengfei.
