Now reading: Chapter 105: Enrage (Part 7) from Sinner System, a Fantasy novel by Aimdaqs.

"Yeah, that’s definitely a fever, seems like the toll Enrage takes on you has changed, just like Frida said," Remarked Charlotte, placing her palm against my forehead.

"Well, this is at least easier to deal with than the throbbing pain across my entire body. Actually, it feels kinda nice, I’m getting these waves of cold chills every now and then, and I don’t hate it," I replied, before shuddering slightly as I felt another chill.

"It doesn’t seem to be all that severe of a fever, so a Q-Ranked Healer should be enough to take care of it," Mused Charlotte thoughtfully.

"Speaking of Healers...my nose hurts," Frowned Rex, as he walked over with a grimace.

"Oh, uh...sorry about that," I grinned sheepishly.

"How did you do that? You stopped from using my Magic."

"That’s another one of my abilities. Actually, I’m surprised I never thought of using it on you before this."

"It did occur to , but I refrained from ntioning it to you because I thought you could end up seriously injuring him," Chid in Charlotte.

"Yeah, good call. If I’d gotten an opening like that while I was in my hyper-aggressive state, well...it wouldn’t have been pretty," I nodded with a quiet sigh of relief.

"Honestly, I preferred your hyper-aggressive state to whatever this was. No one’s ever punched in the face with such a cold, emotionless look on their face before, and the calm fury in your eyes was terrifying, it sent a chill down my spine," Responded Rex with a shudder.

"Yes, even I felt it from up on the balcony. That purple energy was raging like a wildfire right after you unleashed Enrage, and then, it was chillingly calm. It felt like a cold, oppressive pressure had blanketed the room," Recalled Charlotte.

"One thing’s for sure, I’m never sparring against you again," Stated Rex firmly.

"So, how exactly did you feel? It certainly seed like Frida’s advice was spot-on, but you looked pretty unsettled after it wore off," Remarked Charlotte curiously.

"Well, I felt like I was drowning in the swell of emotions, but I kept letting it surge like she advised. And then, I think I blacked out for a second, my mind blanked and everything went dark.

And the next thing I knew, I was feeling eerily calm. The sensations I was feeling were so contradictory, there was this sense of fury that felt both unbearably hot and freezing cold at the sa ti...maybe that’s why I have a fever.

I do rember thinking that that sensation felt kinda like a fever. And my mind felt so clear, it was like I had a whole new perspective. But other than that fury, all my other emotions basically disappeared.

Every move and decision I made was based on cold, hard logic, which tempered the fury. And when Enrage wore off, the fury faded and my other emotions returned, that’s why I felt so unsettled."

"I see, that is a bit concerning...well, if nothing else, it’s certainly better than flying off the handle and attacking in a blind rage like you have been before this," Pointed out Charlotte.

"That’s arguable, this state was way scarier to go up against. He wasn’t trying to kill this ti, sure, but he was still trying injure , he tried to take my arm off," Muttered Rex in response.

Yeah, I did, I feel bad about that.

I rember my thought process, I was thinking that injuring him would be fine so long as I didn’t kill him, I just figured a high level Healer would be able to fix him up good as new so long as he was still alive.

And I thought it so calmly, without any hesitation or remorse. The state my mind was felt so inhuman and...and rciless.

"At the very least, he was certainly far more in control of yourself than he were before," Argued Charlotte objectively, before adding, "And in a Dungeon, being able to enter a state like that is actually a good thing.

A mont’s hesitation can prove fatal in Dungeons, so cold logic could be the difference between life and death in a dire situation."

"Well, yeah, I definitely was in control. Every move I made was a conscious effort, I think I might have been even more efficient than I am in my normal state.

But at the sa ti, after it wore off, I didn’t really feel like I was myself in that state," I replied with a frown, before shaking my head as I felt a wave of dizziness.

"Well, whatever the case, I’m just glad my involvent in this is now over. Getting hurt sucks, so like I said, I’m never fighting you again.

It felt like we were pretty evenly matched this ti, physically speaking, so you’ll definitely be stronger than soon," Rex sighed wearily.

I an, I’m still a lot weaker than him in my normal state. But, yeah, my stats were almost identical to his when I used Enrage this ti.

If I’d been wielding Desecrator and got the additional ten percent boost to my stats on top of Enrage’s fifty percent boost, I would’ve had a slight edge over him.

"Yeah, sorry for breaking your nose and kneeing you in the stomach. But I am grateful, you’ve seriously helped out a great deal, I owe you one. I’ll repay this favor soday," I replied with a smile.

"Eh, it’s fine. Just don’t ever ask to spar against you again and I’ll call it even," He shrugged in response.

"Deal. But even so, if there ever cos a ti where I can pay you back, I will."

"Sure, if you insist, I guess. Doesn’t really matter to either way."

This feels kinda surreal, I was feeling pretty hopeless about Enrage barely an hour ago, and now, the matter’s completely settled.

I an, sure, that cold state was more than a little unsettling, not quite what I expected, but that said, I no longer have to worry about turning into an embarrassing rage monster anymore.

Even if it does basically turn into a different person, I can think clearly and the cold logic isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I was definitely moving more decisively and efficiently than usual.

On another note, I think my fever’s getting worse, my head’s starting to spin.

"Alright, with that, I suppose this wraps up your training, Kai. Now, then, let’s get the both of you healed up, shall we?" Suggested Charlotte with a wry smile.

"Yes, please," Rex and I responded in unison.
