"Wow, check it out, Kai, we’re really making waves online," Remarked Aria, as she showed her screen.
"Well, we did clear a Calamity Level Dungeon, and without any casualties, for the first ti in history," I replied, as I skimd through the social dia posts on her display.
"It isn’t just that though, Sanctuary Theta has been getting a lot of attention lately. Three out of the seven Arcane Hunters in the world are here, as well as two out of the seven X-Ace Ranked Hunters, which of course, is you and ," She grinned, as she leaned against , her head on my shoulder.
Today’s the 24th of October, 2169, the following morning after we got back from the raid.
Our conquest of the Calamity Level Dungeon was reported to the public pretty promptly, giving the people so much needed good news and encouragent, what with how unstable things have been lately.
Like Aria said, it isn’t just that that’s been garnering attention, but Sanctuary Theta as a whole.
Between myself, Rex and Ciel-...also known as the Sinner, Ghost and Explo-Blader, respectively...-nearly half of the Arcane Hunters in the world reside in Sanctuary Theta.
Of the other four Arcane Hunters, I’ve t one of them, the Musician, Beatriz Oliviera, one of the X-Aces who helped in the battle against the Archdemon Zeifas.
I know of the other three Arcane Hunters, two are X-Aces and the other’s an Ace, haven’t t them, though.
All to say, I’ve got more attention on than ever...it’s a pain, as if it wasn’t hard enough to go out in public as it was, it’s even worse now.
Well, whatever, it’s not like I can do anything about it, so I’ll just have to wait it out, until things die down.
"So, what do you wanna do today, Kai?" Aria asked , as she switched off her I-Watch display.
"You cool with lazing about indoors? It’s not like we can go out in public, after all," I pointed out with a wry smile.
"Yeah, that’s true...and that aside, I’m still pretty worn out from the raid, so lazing indoors sounds pretty good right now.
But this is starting to get annoying, how we can’t go outside without worrying about getting mobbed...oh, I know!
Let’s order so disguises, like wigs and colored contacts! That way, we can walk around outside unnoticed," She suggested excitedly.
"I have considered that option, I suppose it’s about ti...yeah, let’s look it up online and find so options. Got any colors in mind?" I responded, putting my arm around her as she opened up her display again and began browsing.
"Hm, let think...wait, I got it! Let’s put on each other’s colors! I’ll get a black wig and purple contacts, and you get a red wig and green contacts!"
That’s...a really fun idea, I like it.
"Hell, yeah, let’s go with that. We should get face masks too, just to be safe," I mused thoughtfully.
"Ooh, or you could get a fake mustache!" She suggested with a gleam in her eyes.
"I an, we might as well buy a ton of different stuff and options, it’s not like we can’t afford it," I pointed out with a wry smile.
"Yeah, sounds good. Hm...I wonder what you’d look like if you grew your facial hair out a bit?" She muttered as she stared closely at my face, narrowing her eyes slightly.
"You want to grow a beard?" I responded in bemusent.
"Not, like, a long one. Just, like, a heavy stubble kinda thing? I think that’d suit you," She replied, as she traced her fingertips across my jawline and cheek.
"That feels nice...and sure, I can try growing it out a bit," I smiled, patting her head before kissing her forehead, ruffling her hair playfully.
"Are you sure? You don’t have to if you don’t want to."
"No, I have nothing against it. I was pretty scruffy in my previous life, had bigger concerns than shaving, you know," I replied wryly.
"Yeah, I’d imagine so...sorry if I made you recall so bad mories," She responded with a remorseful look on her face.
"Hey, don’t worry about it, I brought it up myself. And at this point, I’m totally over the crap I went through in my previous life, it’s nothing more than a distant mory," I assured her, as I placed my forehead against hers.
"That’s good...but if there is anything you’ve got lingering, you know you can always talk to , right? I don’t know if I’ll be much help, but if nothing else, you can vent to ," She replied, as she took hold of my hand.
"Thanks, Aria, I appreciate that, you’re the best," I smiled gratefully, before adding, "Alright, let’s get to shopping, shall we? Seems we’ve got a ton of options to choose from."
She’d opened up a site of a store that sells what we were looking for, and based on what I’m seeing, they’ve got a large selection of high quality wigs and stuff, but also plenty of options that lean more towards gag gifts.
"Yeah, we can even customize them...we should probably avoid getting any that are too flashy," She nodded, as she scrolled through the site.
"I an, we can get a few extravagant ones, just for fun," I pointed out with a grin.
"Hm...hey, how about if we both pick stuff for each other instead of choosing for ourselves?" She smiled, before giggling as she clicked on a garish, rainbow-colored wig, "I think this one would look good on you."
"A clown wig, huh? Sure, add it to the cart, why not?" I chuckled, patting her head before clicking on another item as it caught my eye, adding, "Maybe you should get this one, I’m kinda curious to see what you’d look like."
"Is that a bald cap? Sure, I bet it’ll be pretty funny," She laughed, adding it to the cart.
We continued going through the site and adding whatever grabbed our attention to the cart. We weren’t really putting any real thought into it, we were just going with the flow.
We did get a few proper wigs and contacts, but most of what we added were the more goofy gag items.
By the ti we were done, we had over a couple dozen items in our cart, way more than we needed.
We probably won’t even use most of these more than a couple of tis at most, but hey, nothing wrong with wasting a bit of money on stuff we don’t need every now and then.
Am I right, Ai?
"Oh, nice, it’ll be delivered within the hour. Guess we know what we’re doing this evening," Grinned Aria, as she placed the order.
"Mhm, should be fun," I nodded, as I patted her head with a smile.
