"This is so aweso! My first official raid, and it’s a Calamity Level Dungeon!" Grinned Cleo excitedly.
"You should maybe be a bit more concerned, this will be really tough. Calamity Level Dungeons take a long ti to get through, each of these raids are probably going to take around two days," Aria inford her.
"Woah, seriously? I’ll do my best to keep up," Responded Cleo with a gleam in her eyes, not the slightest bit deterred.
It was almost ti for to depart and head to the Dungeon I’d been assigned to. Aria had co over with Cleo to see off. Since they’ve been assigned to a Dungeon within Sanctuary Theta’s jurisdiction, they still have plenty of ti before they need to head out.
"Don’t take this lightly, got it? Because, frankly, you aren’t ready yet for a Calamity Level Dungeon. Ideally, I’d have like to have started you out with High Level Dungeons, and the gradually moved on to Critical Level Dungeons once you were ready. But you’ve really been thrown off the deep end here," I sighed in response.
"Yeah, I know...but I can’t help feel excited. Finally, I can kill so Monsters...I’ve only killed one so far, after all," She replied with a wry smile.
"That’s a big part of the reason why we feel you aren’t ready for this yet, but as things stand, we’re lacking in manpower. I’m going to need you to hang back once we get to the Boss Room, we’ll discuss the specifics of the role you’ll be playing in the raid shortly," Remarked Aria, as I glanced at the ti.
Looks like it’s almost ti for to leave, I should summon Ira and head out. Ai’s already explained the situation to him, and he’s more than happy to comply.
"Alright, I’m going to get going now. I’ll see you when I get back," I smiled as I took hold of Aria’s hand.
"Be careful, Kai. Good luck out there," She replied, before giving a soft peck on the lips.
"Right back at you."
"U-Uh...how are you guys fine with doing that in public? PDA makes so uncomfortable," Muttered Cleo awkwardly.
"I an, you can just look away, you know. More importantly, make sure to follow Aria’s instructions during your raid, don’t get carried away," I instructed her, before giving the two of them a wave as I headed off.
One of the Union staff mbers escorted to the runway, where a couple of jets had been prepared for departure.
There are airports in this era, but the Unions also have small flight decks and runways, for when they need to deploy Hunters to other jurisdictions during ergencies.
"We can depart as soon as you’re ready," The staff mber inford .
"I’ll depart right away, then. ," I chanted, a burst of energy erupting as he appeared before .
"?" He inquired, as he t my gaze.
"Mhm, that’s right. Cooperate with the people you’ll be tead up with, have their backs," I nodded, as I lightly tapped the back of my fist against the middle of his chest.
"," He declared with a determined look in his eyes.
"Cool, I’m counting on you. See you later," I smiled, before the two of us split up and entered our respective jets.
This is my first ti in an aircraft of this era, it’s pretty exciting. Flights are super short compared to back in my era, these jets can apparently circle the entire planet in a bit over an hour, and to get to Sanctuary Epsilon in Southern Africa, it should take around twenty minutes.
I stared out the window as the jet took off into the air, feeling zero turbulence. Aircrafts use a more powerful version of the sa hovering technology that all vehicles in this era have. As a result, flights are super smooth in addition to being ridiculously fast.
As the jet ascended into the air, the surroundings turned into little more than a blur as it shot through the air with imnse speed.
If I wasn’t staring out the window, I don’t think I would’ve even realized that the jet had begun moving, it’s like I’m sitting inside a building, there isn’t the slightest bit of turbulence.
It looks like this jet seats four people at most, not counting the pilot. But even the biggest aircrafts in this era seat no more than twenty-five people.
Since air travel is so fast, there’s no need to cram a couple hundred people into every flight...and also, you know, the exponentially lower global population, that’s a pretty significant factor too.
Naturally, less people ans less demand for, well, everything.
With the way the planet was devastated after the Monsters first showed up, I doubt there are enough resources to accommodate anything even remotely close to the world’s population in my previous era.
Anyway, before I realized it, I was at my destination, the jet descending into Sanctuary Epsilon.
The aircraft landed in the Sanctuary’s branch of the Hunters Union, before I made my way out of the jet. As I stepped out, I was greeted by a couple of the local Union staff mbers.
"Welco to Sanctuary Epsilon, we’d like to thank you for making the trip here."
"Sure, don’t ntion it. Looks like there’s still a bit of ti before I need to head out, so...I’d like to be introduced to the Detector who’ll be accompanying , might as well take the chance to get acquainted and break the ice before heading into the Dungeon," I remarked, as I checked the ti.
"Er, about that, sir...in addition to a Detector, one of our Aces has insisted on accompanying you into this Dungeon."
"Huh? Like I told Chairman Lachlan, that isn’t necessary, all I need is a Detector and I can handle the rest between and my summons," I responded with a frown.
"Yeah, uh...we did try to tell him as much, but he’s insisting that we can’t leave a Dungeon in our jurisdiction entirely upto an outsider, there was just no convincing him," One of them replied with a sigh of exasperation.
"Perhaps you’ll have better luck convincing him, sir...both he and the Detector we’ve assigned are on standby, we can introduce them to you right away."
"Fine, take to them."
