"A Frost Dragon, huh? Ohh, this is a bad match-up for you," I remarked, stepping forward as the entrance sealed shut, the others hanging back as I approached the Monster.
It let out a slight growl and narrowed its eyes at , wisps of frost flowing out the corners of its mouth. It isn’t showing any signs of shifting to its humanoid form, which must an it intends to fight in its current state.
Based on what Acedia has told us, Dragons only enter their humanoid forms against those they see as superior or more powerful to them, or at least around the sa level.
Their pride dictates that they stay in their larger forms against enemies they perceive as inferior to them, even though their humanoid forms are far better suited for combat.
In a nutshell, it’s underestimating . Which will be its downfall. Hm, then again, it wouldn’t really make a difference either way. It doesn’t matter which form it chooses to fight in, the result will be the sa in the end.
"Got anything to say? No? I know you can speak...well, it’s fine. Underestimate at your own peril, [Blaze Ignition: Flare], [Descent]," I chanted with a smirk, the Dragon’s eyes widened as a stifling burst of heat and Negative Energy erupted around , my power spiking sharply.
It didn’t say anything, but almost imdiately shifted to its humanoid form, snapping open its jaws and unleashing a freezing wave of frosty air towards .
I spread out my wings and shot up into the air, evading the cold wave before swooping down towards it. I fired out a pressurized burst of Negative Energy from my feet to propel myself with a sharp burst of speed, before chanting as I closed in and drove my right fist forward...
"[Super Accel Fla Strike]!"
A sharp snarl of pain rang out as my fist slamd onto the middle of the Monster’s right bicep with crushing force. A fiery explosion erupted upon impact, followed by a crunch as my strike broke the bones in its upper arm. Several of the scales around that spot snapped off, hitting the ground with a clatter.
The Dragon gritted its teeth before rapidly spinning around and whipping its tail towards , a concentrated mass of frost swirling around the end of the tail, before slamming against my left elbow.
I grimaced as I felt a slight twinge of pain upon impact, right as the tail got blown away as a fiery explosion burst out. I then swiftly grabbed the Dragon’s shoulders as it stumbled back, tightening my grasp and lunging forward. I bent my leg and drove it forward, slamming my knee against the middle of its torso.
A sharp wheeze of pain rang out as a searing explosion of heat burst out upon impact, sending the Dragon hurtling back through the air.
It crashed onto the wall at the back of the Boss Room, cracks spreading out around it as it coughed out blood with a gasp of pain, the cold air surrounding it freezing the blood.
As I shot towards it, I quickly halted and flew back as it suddenly shifted to its bigger form, growing rapidly. It let out a sharp roar, swiping its claws at my torso. It nicked my armor and just barely missed my skin, right as a barrage of red energy projectiles ca shooting out from behind .
Deafening explosions burst out in rapid succession as the projectiles peppered the Frost Dragon, the booms drowning out its roars of pain. Several scales and chunks of flesh flew out around the blast zone, before the Monster switched back to its humanoid form and flew away, narrowly evading another explosion.
It tensed as I chased after it and caught up as I unleashed a fierce burst of Negative Energy from my feet, grabbing the side of the Dragon’s neck, blood pouring out of its mouth as an intense fiery burst erupted from my hand as I tightened my grip.
I zipped forward through the air as the Dragon began to try and claw my arm off, before slamming the Monster against the wall as it failed to pierce through my gauntlets, deep cracks spreading out upon impact.
The Monster gritted its teeth and unleashed a burst of cold air, its eyes widened as the attack had no effect on .
I swiftly reached out and grabbed the top of its head, a fiery blast erupting upon contact, thin trails of blood trickling down as its skin tore open.
Crimson flas erupted around my hand as I channeled Mana into my gauntlet, a deafening roar of pain ringing out as I seared the Monster’s head.
I swiftly drove a blade of Negative Energy into its open mouth as it began to drove its claws towards my chest. I let go of the top of its head as I plunged the dark blade through the roof of its mouth and into its brain, simultaneously grabbing its wrist with my tail before its claws could reach my chest.
The Frost Dragon plumted as I let go of it, puffs of dust rising up as it collapsed onto the ground, slumping against the dirt.
I flew back down, landing beside it and tapping it with my foot a couple of tis to make sure it was dead, feeling a bit paranoid...surely, this can’t be it, right?
Was this seriously nothing more than an extra easy Calamity Level Dungeon? Is that really all?
"That was aweso, you totally dominated a literal Dragon!" Grinned Brid, as the others ca walking over.
"Thanks. And I appreciate the back up, Ciel, your timing was perfect," I remarked with a smile, as the entrance opened back up.
"Heh, that felt good. I an, such a big, easy target, I just couldn’t resist."
"Honestly surprised you were able to restrain yourself from blasting the whole place down, I saw how frustrating you were getting with the Slis," Responded Rex dryly.
"Co on, I have more self-control than you sotis give credit for, you know," She huffed indignantly.
"S-So, the raid’s over now, right?" Chid in Cleo.
"Yeah, it is. But...I don’t know, sothing doesn’t feel right, this was way too easy. Let’s hurry back to the Sanctuary. I hope I’m wrong, but...I’m getting a really bad feeling," I replied with a grimace...
