"Wow, you made this yourself?" Mom asked in surprise, as she tried a bite of Wattalapam, the Sri Lankan dessert I’d tried making a while back.
"Mhm, yeah. Took a few tries to get it right, though. What do you think?" I responded with a smile.
"Oh, it’s perfect...it takes back to my childhood, before I moved to Australia. Wish I could have taken you to visit Sri Lanka before I died," She sighed wistfully.
"Yeah, that would’ve been nice," I nodded, as she tried another bite, nodding in approval.
"If you don’t mind asking...why did you keep your current last na? Why not switch back to your maiden na?" Aria asked her curiously.
"Oh, don’t get wrong, it isn’t that I’m hung up on my ex. But, well, it’s a cool na, and I figured, hey, after what I went through, I deserve to take sothing good out of that relationship," She replied wryly.
"By the way, what is your maiden na? I don’t think I ever knew what it was," I realized.
"It was Perera. Before I t your father, I was Kavi Perera. In hindsight, I wish I’d caught on to the red flags sooner...but, well, if I’d never married him, you wouldn’t be here, Kai, so even with the way things ended up in our first lives, I wouldn’t change that. And, like I said, I got a cool last na out of the deal, so it wasn’t all bad," She laughed jokingly.
"Hm, co to think of it, from your perspective, it’s been almost ninety years since you last spoke with Kai, right? That’s pretty wild," Mused Jaden thoughtfully.
"Huh, that’s right. For , it hasn’t even been a year," I replied in bemusent.
For so reason, that feels like it was an eternity ago, so much has happened in such a short amount of ti.
"Wait, you guys don’t think several decades will have passed in our world by the ti we return, do you?" Frowned Ciel warily.
"I an, that could be kinda interesting, to see how much the world will have progressed in however amount of ti has passed, if there is a disparity like that," Responded Aria with a fascinated look on her face.
"I wonder what’s going on in our world right now? Has our disappearance been made public? If so, how are people reacting to it?" Wondered Jaden curiously.
"We’ll find out soon enough, I suppose," I replied, as I munched on so fries.
"Oh, by the way, have you thought about taking so dinosaurs back with you to Earth?" Mom asked .
"Well, we did consider it. But we figured it’s probably not the best idea," I responded with a wry smile.
"Really? I don’t see why you shouldn’t," She replied with a shrug.
"Agreed! Definitely want so T-Rexes, not to ntion Velociraptors," Grinned Jaden eagerly.
"Actually, the raptors in Jurassic Park aren’t accurate. I rember reading that real ones were smaller and more scavengers than hunters," I inford him.
"That may be true on Earth, but from what I’ve seen, Jurassic Park was totally accurate if you compare to the dinos in this world. They have all the sa nas too," Remarked mom with a smile.
"Huh, so dinosaurs really are extinct in that world? It was always strange how you’d react with such gusto whenever you saw one," Responded Kritak thoughtfully.
"Well, that movie was one of my all-ti favorites, I’d rewatch it every year without fail. That, and the first two Ho Alone movies...I miss those," She sighed with a nostalgic look on her face.
"You can watch them in my Pocket Dinsion, along with pretty much any other form on entertainnt, past or present," I replied with a smile.
"Oh, that sounds amazing! Rewatching my favorites aside, I am curious to see how entertainnt has evolved in the current era on Earth," She grinned with a gleam in her eyes.
"There’s so good stuff, but honestly, I generally prefer what was around during my first life. One benefit of reincarnating in the future is that a lot of my favorite shows that were ongoing around the ti I died were complete. Though, there were so that were canceled and left incomplete, and a few that couldn’t finish thanks to the Monsters appearing," I sighed wistfully.
"Oh, that reminds , did you see my Spirit Fusion with my Fox Deity Spirit? It’s just like the fox from that one cartoon you really liked when you were younger!"
"Huh? Oh, you an Naruto. Yeah, can’t deny that was the first thing that ca to mind when you displayed those nine tails. Actually, that reminds ...what’s with your naming sense for your Spirits? You nad your Devil Gabriel, your Angel Satan, and the Fox Deity Swiper," I responded in bemusent.
"Yeah, I didn’t know the fox’s na from Naruto, and Swiper was the only fox character I could think of. Well, there was also Robin Hood from that animated movie where they were all animals and Tod from The Fox and the Hound, but of the three options, I thought Swiper sounded the coolest."
"Not sure I agree with that, but I suppose it doesn’t really matter," I chuckled in amusent.
"I also thought about naming her Firefox, or maybe Mozilla, but I didn’t really find those options appealing. Oh, by the way, what kind of Spirits did you summon? You ntioned gaining the ability to use Spirit Fusion after being summoned to this world."
"I didn’t actually summon any Spirits from this world. I have these seven summons known as the Apostles of Sin, and I gained the ability to use Spirit Fusion with them, Aria can access them too, the Spirit Fusion she used in her bout against you was with one of them. And Ciel summoned Rex but can’t summon any other Spirits. Jaden and Cleo are the only ones who were able to summon Spirits from this world," I explained in response.
"Yup, I’ve got a Rejuven, a Sun Lizard, a Shadow Cat, a Hydra and a Unicorn," Chid in Jaden.
"Um, and I-I have a Vampire, an Atomiguana a-and a Devil," Added Cleo timidly.
"Wow, those are all powerful Spirits, most among the very strongest species in the Spirit Realm," Responded Reritea, looking a bit envious.
"The summoner’s power has a significant effect on what kind of Spirits they can summon, so that says a lot," Muttered Kritak thoughtfully.
"By the way, can we spar against you guys later? It’s been a while since I’ve fought a new powerful opponent, so I’d like to test out so of my Spirit Fusions against you guys," Requested Jaden hopefully.
"Count in too, I wanna see if you guys can handle getting blown up," Added Ciel eagerly.
"Uh..."
"How about we save that for later, guys? For now, let’s just relax and have fun," I suggested with a wry smile.
