The scarred sky, with yellow clouds floating above.

Two crimson celestial bodies, akin yet unalike to suns, hung on the horizon.

A madly sinister aura perated the entire land.

At this mont, the head of a gray wolf erged from a dilapidated wooden house outside a village, displaying an almost humanly alert expression, surveying the surroundings.

The black nose on the wolf’s snout twitched slightly, sniffing the scents in the air.

The air was saturated with a constant stench of blood and decay, sowhat hampering Kane’s ability to assess his surroundings through his sense of sll.

Now Kane had two primary objectives.

One was to use his wolf form to swiftly locate his teammates.

The other was to find food and water, as he was now an ordinary person and could no longer handle not eating, sleeping, or drinking for days, as he could in his days as the Explorer.

After surveying the area, not far from the wooden house was a village.

From afar, the village appeared rundown, with severed limbs hanging from the wooden poles outside, signaling that the villagers were not to be trifled with.

With a glance around, he circled to the bushes and slipped through, quietly moving towards the village.

The whole village was steeped in a bloody scent.

Peering through the cracks of a small house in front, Kane carefully sniffed the air.

After confirming the small house was unoccupied, Kane entered through a gap.

Inside the house, it was dilapidated, with various pieces of furniture broken and toppled, not a single spot intact.

Bloodstains splattered across walls and furniture, all signs of the tragic fate that befell the house’s occupants.

Nimbly evading the debris on the floor, Kane carefully climbed to the second floor via a rickety staircase.

From the window on the second floor, one could clearly observe the village’s previous state.

But upon looking out, the village was devoid of any sign of life, a gentle breeze of a fallen leaf stirred on the village street.

The village seed utterly abandoned.

"Creak!"

The sound of a decrepit door being moved echoed from behind.

Upon hearing the noise, Kane swiftly turned around and saw the wooden door of a room behind him slightly moving back and forth.

A breeze flowed from the crack beneath the door.

Oh, it was just the wind.

Turning his wolf’s head back, Kane continued gazing out the window.

Then, suddenly, he turned back again.

The breeze-caused door still swung back and forth, appearing entirely unremarkable.

Honestly, Kane’s weakened state made him sowhat paranoid.

He cautiously crept forward on all fours towards the room.

The thick pads on his paws muffled the sound of his movents.

He slowly arrived at the swaying door, gently pushed it, and peered inside.

The room seed to be a woman’s bedroom.

A broken-legged wooden bed lay tilted on the floor, covered in dark stains and a big heap of filth.

A skeleton slumped from the bed towards the ground, with a large crack in the skull.

It appeared that soone had violently hacked into her forehead with a blade.

Kane entered the room and approached the skeleton, intent on examining her cause of death.

"Bang!"

A huge butcher knife swung down towards Kane.

Kane had already leaped forward, evading the attack, and turned mid-air to face his assailant.

A corpulent man wearing an apron, covered in grease and dark blood stains.

His yellow eyes filled with madness, brandished the butcher knife at Kane.

He kept shouting nonsense.

With a powerful leap of his hind legs, Kane pounced at the Butcher, deftly dodging his attack.

Sinking his teeth into the Butcher’s neck.

A pungent taste flooded Kane’s mouth as blood splattered on his gray fur.

Releasing his grip, he spat it out.

The butcher’s knife had fallen to the floor, his hands clutching his throat, blood still seeped between his fingers.

His mouth slightly parted as if to speak, but blood incessantly spewed from it.

Staggering backward, he leaned against the door and slid down to a sitting position.

Kane glared at the butcher, his ears twitching.

The area was filled with chaotic footsteps, it seed a crowd had already surrounded the place, rushing in.

Kane imdiately turned and smashed through the window behind him, sending wood splinters flying.

A figure followed, gliding through the air and landing securely on the ground.

Upon landing, Kane glanced back.

The originally deserted village now overflowed with frenzied figures, erging from previously closed doors in tattered, black garnts, all wielding assorted weapons in their hands.

Cleavers, boning knives, pitchforks.

Many had rushed to the second floor, while those gathered below, hearing the commotion, spotted Kane and began yelling at him, then waved their weapons and charged.

Seeing the mob charging, Kane turned on all fours and darted into a nearby forest.

So of the mad figures halted at the forest edge while others followed, screeching as they rushed in.

The villagers who entered the forest soon lost sight of Kane, disheartened, they turned back towards the village.

Eyes hidden on a nearby tree trunk, watching those figures retreat.

What were these people, they were all lunatics!

They were no different from zombies!

Watching them, Kane thought with frustration.

Earlier, Kane estimated roughly a hundred villagers, utterly unmanageable.

Ti to flee.

Better find sowhere with fewer people.

With this thought, Kane leapt down from the trunk, heading towards the other side of the forest.

After walking a few steps, Kane stopped.

Seeing a gray rabbit not far away.

Huh? So, there are ordinary animals in this dungeon?

Why bother tangling with those lunatics when I can live by hunting in a forest?

Looking at the grass-eating wild rabbit, Kane crouched down, patiently waiting for the right mont.

Just as the rabbit lowered its head to nibble another blade of grass.

Now’s the ti.

Kane lunged towards the rabbit.

He sank his teeth deep into the rabbit, vigorously shaking it to render it defenseless.

With the rabbit in his mouth, Kane joyfully made his way back to the small wooden house where he had previously landed.

He needed to fill his belly before he could tackle what’s next.
