Morning
Sunshine shone on a patch of open ground in Crystal Town, where so wooden stakes and simple training equipnt were placed.
At this mont, a young boy is facing off against a female centaur.
Beside them, only a floating iron ball observes.
This is the training ground in Crystal Town, a town closely linked to the dungeon nearby.
How could there not be a space for an Explorer to recover and train their skills?
After returning to the tavern yesterday, Kreya was very satisfied with her potential partner.
Similarly, Kane didn’t mind her, so Kreya suggested coming to the training ground today to familiarize themselves with each other’s skills.
Preparing Kane for the dungeon exploration once he heals.
Kane was wondering yesterday if he could use a Life Potion to speed up the healing of his injuries.
But Kreya told him that Life Potions are for external application for injuries, internal consumption for internal wounds.
This ordinary Life Potion can only heal limited injuries, particularly common external ones.
If faced with larger wounds or a severed limb, it only serves as a quick way to stop bleeding.
It’s essentially a first aid tool.
At the training ground
Kane watched Kreya, waiting for her to perform her battle armant change.
He had just listened to Kreya briefly explaining her skills, implying that she could swiftly switch equipnt.
Depending on different situations and enemies, she changes her armor and weapon to respond accordingly.
Plus, she ntioned having a tad bit of confidence in her martial arts.
Kane could only categorize her as a close-range damage dealer, capable of transforming into a frontline tank when needed.
"Lion’s Heart, Armor On"
As Kreya finished speaking, a flash of white light passed; instantly, her attire transford into heavy armor.
The heavy armor was sharp and interlocked, with roaring lion heads on each shoulder.
The whole armor gave an ancient and grand impression.
The heavy armor extended to her horse tail, enveloping her entire horse body, akin to a heavy tank.
Even as a centaur, one might wonder how she moves so freely under such heavy armor.
Adorned in such armor, Kreya resembled an empire’s general.
She gripped the air, and a massive shield appeared in her hand, a gigantic tower shield raised singlehandedly.
"Attack , Kane," she shouted boldly, lifting the shield to cover herself.
Due to Kane’s injury, this session was rely a simple familiarization with each other’s capabilities.
Kane was to attack and control while Kreya mainly defended against his offense.
He ford a short spear, with its tip rounded.
Kreya watched Kane clutching the air as if preparing to throw sothing, not knowing what it was, assuming it must be Kane’s skill.
Fully focused and vigilant.
Kane threw a transparent short spear with his right hand.
He attacked, tossing sothing invisible, Kreya thought.
The transparent short spear cut through the air shooting forward.
She sensed it.
Although not knowing what it was, when the spear neared a certain range around Kreya, it was detected.
She directly raised her shield to block the odd area, and with a thud, sothing indeed collided with her shield.
"An invisible attack, huh? That’s quite interesting," Kreya licked her lips excitedly.
Kane saw she had blocked his attack, realizing she had discerned his attacking technique.
He again flung several short spears, simultaneously shooting a ball of spider silk.
Seeing Kane launch another attack, she instantly beca alert.
This ti, there’s sothing visible; what is that?
She swatted away the unknown object flying towards her, and the spider silk behind suddenly spread wide into a web.
Upon realizing the white mass was a spider web, Kreya imdiately tossed the tower shield in her hand to knock the web away.
Discarding the shield? Why do that?
Kane was puzzled.
The airborne shield vanished in a flash of light.
Then it appeared again in Kreya’s hand.
Impressive.
Kane continued tossing various projectiles, not limited to spears but included throwing knives, discs, and teor hamrs.
Still, he used spider silk to harass her, sticking the silk to her shield and forcefully adjusting the shield’s blocking direction.
Like this, Kane slowly laid out an array of spider silk tripwires around Kreya.
Kreya too realized he was constraining her movent range, but those invisible projectiles needed to be within a certain range around her for her to detect through the air.
This attack thod overwheld her defenses.
Nevertheless, Kane’s attacks struggled to penetrate her defense.
Suddenly, Kreya seized a mont with sparse projectiles and produced a stick-like object resembling a gun in her hand.
Flas spewed from the gun’s muzzle, instantly igniting the surrounding spider silk.
Seeing the silk ablaze, the flathrower vanished from her hand, replaced by a luminescent mist.
She imdiately tossed the mist.
The mist exploded in the air, blanketing the surroundings with luminescent fog.
When Kane’s attack flew by again, the fog directly attached to his weapons.
The transparent flying knife revealed its position and emitted light, utterly conspicuous.
Kreya switched the tower shield to a dium shield, swatting away the incoming attacks.
With the projectiles visible, the threat significantly reduced.
At last, his attack was broken. It’s alright bullying the fools in the dungeon on regular days.
For an Explorer with battle intelligence, this attack is potent as a surprise; once understood, it’s easily countered.
Of course, this depends on withstanding the surprise attack and preparing ans to counter afterwards.
Apparently, Kreya prepared various counterasures for nurous attacks.
Kane ceased his attack; this brief exchange led both parties to a basic understanding of each other’s abilities and skills.
This knowledge suffices; if the upcoming dungeon expedition pleases, there will be ample opportunities for deep exploration in the future.
If they part ways after this, the understanding holds little significance.
Seeing Kane halt his attack, Kreya reverted to casual wear and approached.
"Your perception truly is sharp," Kane admired her ability to sense his attacks.
Kreya tidied her disheveled hair after the duel.
She blinked and said, "Kane, your invisible attack is rather indefensible, especially in your injured state."
She sighed, "I thought I was already strong among my peers, yet Kane, you’re formidable."
"Oh, co on, you’re overpraising."
And so, they fell into mutual flatteries.
Nearby, Yoyo listened to their exchange.
So this is how humans communicate? Note it down, note it down.
