"A life with magic power?"

Kane repeated the words calmly, then said, "Project the detected image."

Upon hearing Kane’s command, Yoyo imdiately nodded its body, then chanical eyeballs projected blue light into the air, forming the desired image.

Kane looked at the scene projected by Yoyo. Due to the high-altitude detection, only similar scanning could be conducted.

This life scanned should be hiding under debris sowhere, so its detailed physical appearance had not been detected.

This life form with magical power reaction presents an appearance similar to a mound, with so hollow structures and protruding unknown objects.

Looking at such an image, Kane was a bit puzzled.

What is this thing? A sphere?

"Alright, you lead the way, let’s go see what this thing is."

Upon hearing Kane’s words, Yoyo imdiately retracted the image and then began flying forward with a tiny propeller, leading the way for Kane.

Previously, those creatures, although mutated and distorted, had infection streaks on their spines from rule-level entities, but did not show any magical power reactions.

Their demonstrated strength was indeed only that of ordinary flesh creatures, without anything beyond that.

A creature showing magical power did constitute a larger discovery.

Following Yoyo, Kane proceeded forward, surrounded by desolation, with no traces of man-made objects, nor anything worthy of attention.

The entire world seed as if it was draped in a dim, apocalyptic filter.

Kane wanted to observe changes along the way, to see if there was anything special.

"Master, just ahead."

At this mont, Yoyo stopped and said.

Everything around and within the field of vision was no different from what Kane had seen along the way.

Following Yoyo’s direction, Kane squinted slightly, vision enlarging towards the distance.

He instantly locked onto the life with magical power reaction.

In such an environnt, that kind of life was like a flash in the darkness.

Indeed, it was mound-shaped.

This life was hiding in a depression on the ground, with a large slab of stone shielding its top.

Kane could detect its silhouette like a sky-borne detector would, but the exact appearance could not be seen without going closer.

Thinking this, Kane directly took a step forward.

If soone looked to where Kane was located, they wouldn’t notice anything.

Currently, Kane was in an invisible state, and not just a low-level invisibility.

It was an invisibility mode simulated after the invisible features between spirits and humans in the previous spirit world.

The priority was exceedingly strong.

In a world with lifeforms, harvesting is not just categorizing this world with the Mist.

Anything could be a harvest, as long as it follows the rules set by the Mist.

With this target, Kane was extrely fast, arriving quietly by the creature’s side within seconds.

Looking into the depression.

The creature’s appearance truly startled Kane, making him instinctively step back half a step.

The creature seed to feel Kane’s gaze and slowly turned its head around.

In its hollow eyes, there seed to be a gaze staring at Kane.

The creature’s appearance was entirely different from Kane’s expectations.

It was a humanoid creature, hunched entirely, nearly curling into a mound.

Its legs lacked two sections of joints, just a thin segnt touching the ground, and its slender, curved arms were almost longer than its huddled body, holding a wooden stick as long as its size.

The face was that of an old humanoid, dried and sowhat twisted.

The entire skin appeared dried but also sowhat swollen.

It seed extrely bizarre and twisted, yet judging by the overall shape, it might once have been a normal human.

Kane sensed its gaze.

aning it truly can see, but why?

If Kane was not mistaken, the creature’s magical power reaction only reached the level of silver.

Now the creature slowly extended a hand towards Kane.

Although its arm was long, it barely reached out of the pit; capturing Kane was utterly impossible.

The arm continued to perform grasping movents repeatedly like a rusty machine, as if wanting to catch Kane.

Seeing this situation, Kane no longer hid, directly revealing his original form.

The hunched humanoid continued its repetitive movent, opening its mouth upon seeing Kane’s form.

No teeth were visible inside the open mouth, not even a tongue or upper palate, but a black hole.

From within ca chaotic sounds. Kane didn’t need to distinguish carefully to realize it wasn’t language.

It was just sound, without any sense of magical power fluctuation.

It wanted to say sothing later, but its current body structure and twisted form couldn’t support it to make such sounds.

"Master, its lifeforce is ebbing, it’s dying." Yoyo reminded from the side.

Kane rely nodded without saying anything; he had already noticed this issue.

Since his arrival, the mythical lifeforce continuously ebbed, with internal magical power fluctuating, leaking out along with life.

Kane remained motionless, just watching.

Even he could tell that this person’s body was riddled with holes, and living was truly a miracle.

The most important thing was that Kane could see that on the person’s back, half of it had already been stained by that dark green and black line.

It stretched from the back of the head down to the waist.

This indicates that his soul may have undergone a mutation, and even if resurrected, he would not be much different from now.

Also accompanied by distortion.

As life faded away, the arm attempting to grasp Kane fell limp, and the mouth, akin to a black void, closed.

Only the empty eye sockets remained open.

Thus, slowly, even the head that had tried to turn over sank down.

He died.

With his death, Kane waved his hand, and a transparent protective shield imdiately enveloped the surroundings.

The soul erged from the body but rely hovered slowly beside the corpse, not flying outward like other bodies.

"Indeed."

Kane couldn’t help but say, as this life died, the soul still flew in the sa direction as those of ordinary animals previously dispatched.

From previous experience intercepting souls, Kane had set up the protective shield to disrupt the guiding process.

The shield slowly shrank until it enveloped the soul.

Kane looked at the soul light ball; it was larger than those of ordinary animals, roughly the size of an adult’s head, flashing with dim light, indicating that even as a soul, it lacked much power.

This suggests that before this life died, even the soul was about to dissipate.

But despite its dimness, resembling near extinction, the dark green mutation upon it was very minimal.

Though not knowing why, this scenario could indeed be used to gather so intelligence.

Thinking of this, Kane reached into the space, taking out a potion tube.

He poured out the potion, gently dripped a nail-sized drop.

Then Kane carefully put the potion away, returning it to the space equipnt.

This potion was crafted by izike according to his own rule, a liquid condensed from purification rules.

Extrely precious, each person carries only such a small tube.

This drop of liquid, the size of a pinky fingernail, emitted a faint glow, guided by Kane’s control.

It transford into a thin water film, adhering to the soul light ball’s obviously mutated area.

Then Kane’s other hand emitted a faint gray light, touching the light ball.

This was Kane’s limited mastery of the soul rules, repairing the soul slowly through magic power, ensuring it didn’t beco weak to the point of extinction.

With Kane’s actions, detailed operations began, taking about 10 minutes, the soul light ball returned to normal, shining brightly.

Looking at the restored light ball, Kane nodded with satisfaction.

He asked the echo below, "Did you record the operation just now?"

"Perfectly recorded, master."

Kane’s satisfaction grew.

Although it was the first attempt at such precise operation, it was a rare chance indeed, rely a flash of brilliance in Kane’s thoughts.

Since it truly succeeded, such non-repeatable behaviors should, of course, be thoroughly recorded for future research use.

But at this mont, facing the soul light ball, Kane found himself at an impasse.

He wanted to extract so useful information from this soul, but his mastery of soul rules did not allow him to execute such operation.

Scratching his hair, it seed he could only request external aid.

He picked up the pager and sent out his request.

The teammates most adept at soul rules should be Kreya and izike.

However, izike’s mastery leaned more towards researching repair and stabilization.

Primarily for tily rescue and treatnt should Kane’s team’s souls face issues in the future.

So, Kane’s ssage target was Kreya.

For soul manipulation and analysis along with various strange operations, Kreya’s proficiency outmatched.

After all, her death rules could also apply in this area, not to ntion her ability to directly control undead souls.

She could even transform artificial undead into natural undead.

...

"Lilulu!"

At this mont, Kreya was galloping on all fours, pursuing the distant fleeing target.

Her footing consisted of various bones, shattering into chunks under Kreya’s trampling, scattering into dust clouds.

With Kreya’s call.

Lilulu suddenly appeared around the fleeing target far ahead.

"Hee-hee! Hello!"

Upon hearing Lilulu’s voice, the enemy with a dry dog head showed an obvious expression of terror.

Then colorful lights flickered before his eyes.

Suddenly appearing next to him, Lilulu launched an attack, directly using her most adept and recently constructed skill.

Upon impact, the figure clad in tattered black robes instantly vanished.
