"Hey, calm down, girl. I was just trying to figure out my evolution. What did you say?" Lohan asked, looking at Lisa in confusion.
Seeing that he was finally paying attention to what she was saying, Lisa dispelled the fireball that had been in her mouth. "Halon! I was worried about you, at least tell if you’re okay so I can relax!"
Hearing her explanation, Lohan forced himself not to laugh, finding her concern cute. "Okay, okay, I’m sorry. Next ti I’ll explain before I get lost in my thoughts."
"Hmph!" Lisa snorted and turned away, walking over to the corpses to see what the group hadn’t wanted to store in the Astral Chest.
anwhile, Lohan looked at his new Status screen.
[Na: Halon
Race: Sli (Mythical)
Class: Devourer (Mythical)
Titles: Predator
Level: 11
Experience: 11 / 102,400
Mana: 200 / 200]
Surprisingly, his Mana had doubled!
’But did this increase because of my evolution? Because my Magic Core evolved into a Superior Magic Core, or was this a sum of the two?’ He wondered, ntally confused.
Looking at his own biomass, another shocking thing was that of the 180,000 biomass he had stored, that amount had decreased to 30!!!!
From 180,000 biomass to 30 biomass?!!
’What is this?! Did my evolution consu all 180k biomass I’ve accumulated over the last few days?!’ He was baffled by this.
But upon looking at one of his evolutions, he noticed sothing different.
[Viscous Flow Lv 27] - 0.2 Biomass
’Wait, didn’t this evolution used to cost 200 biomass to evolve? How did it suddenly drop to 0.2?’
Analyzing his other evolutions, Lohan noticed the sa pattern: the evolution cost had dropped drastically, by a ratio of 1,000:1.
’Ohh, so it’s not just that I have 30 biomass remaining, but that after my evolution, this biomass has condensed into a value a thousand tis smaller than before, which ans that my 30 biomass is the sa as 30,000 biomass before the evolution!’ He finally understood.
Realizing that aside from the aesthetics of the numbers, nothing had changed in that regard, Lohan was satisfied.
Analyzing the gains he had made, he realized that the overall evolution he received after leveling up was likely slightly inferior to Lisa’s.
Sure, he had further increased his growth potential, but in terms of raw gains, since most of his strength ca from the evolutions he absorbed from enemies, the growth from one level to the next wasn’t as striking as hers.
But on the other hand, if his growth at each level was already much greater than Lisa’s, now with these evolutions in both his Class and Race, he would only get bigger and stronger every day from now on!
Satisfied, Lohan decided to treat himself a little.
Spending a total of 4.1 Biomass, which would be equivalent to 4,100 Biomass before the evolution, Lohan raised the level of Viscous Flow 9 tis, more than doubling his previous base speed!
[Viscous Flow Lv 27 → Lv 36] 2.77 m/s → 6.52 m/s
With this evolution, the speed at which Lohan could roll had finally reached the speed an average person used when sprinting!
Sure, that was compared to ordinary people; among the group of players in their guild, he might still be slower than even Tunder and Wyrm, who were magic-focused players with no emphasis on physical developnt.
But he was satisfied with that, finally able to stop being such a burden in that regard.
The next investnt cost 5.8 Biomass, but it went toward one of his most useful skills.
[Obsidian Exoskeleton Lv 9 → Lv 13]
[Consus Biomass to generate a rigid, black Obsidian Exoskeleton.]
[Characteristics: Damage Spread - When struck by an external force, the damage received is spread among nearby Obsidian Scales, mitigating part of the damage.]
The description of this evolution was very simple, but the information it provided was extrely valuable!
With the improved resistance of his gelatin and mbrane after leveling up, combined with this new feature of the exoskeleton, Lohan felt extrely confident in his own defense!
Deciding to further evolve this area, Lohan invested another 8.5 Biomass to make his defense nearly unbeatable!
[mbrane Reinforcent Lv 32 → Lv 42]
With this reinforcent, Lohan felt a refreshing energy coursing through his mbrane, with biomass flowing into it and nourishing the mbrane visible to the naked eye; the mbrane, which was already thicker and more resistant despite maintaining the sa appearance, was visibly much more resilient.
By his estimation, his current defense was higher than that of all the Level 11 monsters they had encountered so far!
His defense was already at a very high level, and Lohan still had 11.6 Biomass remaining.
Considering that, for the ti being, the combat style he was focusing on was more centered on controlling the battlefield and his enemies, that was exactly what Lohan focused on when spending his remaining 11.6 Biomass.
The first expenditure was an investnt of 4.2 Biomass to level up Weaver Mother twice.
[Weaver Mother Lv 4 → Lv 6]
Then he spent another 5.66 Biomass and raised the level of Partial Division 5 more tis.
[Partial Division Lv 11 → Lv 16]
With these upgrades, Lohan still had 1.74 Biomass remaining, which he decided to save for ergencies.
Just with these evolutions, Lohan felt much more confident on the battlefield.
Even though he hadn’t purchased any direct firepower evolutions, with the control these two skills provided, and the versatility he had with the wide variety of evolutions he already possessed, he was becoming increasingly omnipotent!
"Okay, everyone, we’ve finally finished our mission. I think we can head back to Thalendor and celebrate by selling our loot, right?!" Lohan said excitedly, causing the soldiers in the group to look at him with shining eyes.
They had been hunting monsters for a long ti, and since the experience funnel was focused only on Lisa and him, the process had been tedious and exhausting for the group.
Thinking about the money they would make upon returning to Thalendor and selling the materials they had acquired, just the thought of the money hitting their bank accounts in the real world completely lifted everyone’s spirits.
Unfortunately, while they were celebrating, Lohan, Lisa, and Alice were discussing how they would deal with the Players they had just killed.
