"Why not sleep in separate rooms?" Evelyn’s skin hair stood on end.
In her anxiety, she spoke even louder, "Didn’t we agree that I would only be your wife in na?"
Caden lowered his gaze, staring down at Evelyn from above, and asked, "If soone cos to my house and sees us sleeping in separate beds, how much of a joke and trouble do you think it’ll cause?"
His handso and cold face didn’t show a hint of loosening. He was domineering and fiercely crushed all the grievances and dissatisfaction in her heart.
Evelyn awkwardly moved her lips.
What he said seed to make sense.
But to sleep in the sa bed with him, how could she dare?
He wasn’t soone who could keep his composure!
Especially since she still didn’t understand why he was unaffected after being drugged, and that Eleanor Keaton, who was causing a ruckus outside, seed to have been forcibly taken away.
Even though she now knew his na and identity, she still found him mysterious.
"Then, can I sleep on the couch?" she suggested a seemingly feasible solution, "Every day I’ll tidy up so well that no one would know we’re sleeping separately!"
"No." Caden rejected coldly.
"Why are you like this!" Her pretty eyebrows furrowed tightly, her eyes filled with resentnt, "You promised to just be my husband in na, and now you’re going back on your word, forcing to sleep in the sa bed as you? You’re so untrustworthy!"
Caden narrowed his dark eyes, glaring at Evelyn, and his voice squeezed through his teeth, "If I had intended to force you, wouldn’t you be in a worse state by now?"
She was stunned, scrutinizing him up and down, seeing the determination in his eyes. She shrank back and weakly negotiated, "But... sleeping in the sa bed..."
Oh God!
Clearly she’s at a disadvantage, her life has been turned upside down, so why does he look like she’s the one who has to obey him?
While she, admitting defeat, could only comply without daring to voice any objections?
Isn’t this life too damn ssed up?
She gathered courage in her heart.
This ti, she was determined to say "no" to him!
Just as she opened her mouth, before she could say a word, a stern and low male voice spoke first, "If you don’t want to, then leave."
Staring at Caden who uttered the words, Evelyn blinked, her expression dazed.
The courage she painstakingly gathered shattered in an instant, she clenched her fists in frustration, her breath even turning rough.
Should she leave?
Her original goal was to get as far away as possible.
But now, she had placed all hopes of finding her brother on Caden!
On one hand was finding her brother, on the other was her own safety.
Her little head was working quickly, still making that difficult choice.
After all, it’s just sleeping on the sa bed.
They had done more than that.
She seed, perhaps, not entirely against his suggestion.
Moreover, he was right. If he truly intended to force her, he could have outrightly done so earlier instead of waiting until now.
She was furious.
Why did she so easily think it was safe to sleep on the sa bed with him?
Did she trust him that much?
Seeing her conflicted expression softening noticeably, Caden’s lips curled into a faint smile.
This girl was entirely in his control!
"What?" He raised an eyebrow, his expression ambiguous and teasing, "Are you worried that sleeping beside , you won’t be able to resist yourself?"
