Evelyn hesitated, wondering whether she should greet Finn Lewis or pretend she hadn’t seen him.
After all, she didn’t want to have any more ties with him.
After thinking it over, she looked away and prepared to enter the school.
"Evelyn!" Finn called out to her, "I have sothing to talk to you about."
Evelyn stopped, feeling a bit awkward, and looked at Finn, wanting to speak, but nothing ca out.
Finn walked up to her and asked, "Can we talk?"
"Is there sothing you need?" Evelyn asked.
"I..." Finn hesitated for a mont before continuing, "I blad you last ti because I was angry, but I’m here to apologize. It was all my fault, please forgive , and don’t hold it against ."
Seeing the panicked expression on Finn’s face, Evelyn felt that his apology seed to have a deeper aning.
"What happened?" she asked confused, "That matter is long past; you don’t need to dwell on it."
"You don’t bla ?" Finn asked anxiously.
Evelyn instinctively took a step back, then lightly nodded.
"That’s great!" Finn let out a long sigh of relief, "Evelyn, as long as you don’t bla ! I know I’m not good enough for you, and I shouldn’t have held a grudge against you and said you just wanted to marry into wealth because of my failed confession."
He paused, then went on, "I know you and your husband are truly in love. I wish you both a long and happy life together and many children! I promise I will never appear in front of you again. Just do a favor and let go, okay?"
"What’s going on?" Evelyn was completely lost, "Senior, if you have sothing to say, please be clear."
"The job I found only lasted a few days before the company fired ." Finn shook his head gloomily, "They said it was because I offended soone. That person instructed that if they didn’t fire , they would stop collaborating with the company! The company can’t afford to offend them, so they had to let go."
"Fired!" Evelyn widened her eyes, clearly not expecting such a thing to happen.
"When did I ever offend any big shot?" Finn was extrely dejected, "Except for you!"
Evelyn pointed at herself and quickly thought of Caden Lockwood.
Among the influential people she knew, there was no one else but him.
But, Caden Lockwood wouldn’t do sothing so absurd!
"Could there be a misunderstanding?" Evelyn asked, "I and Cad..."
Almost slipped, she quickly corrected herself, "My husband and I never intended to do anything to you."
She knew Caden Lockwood acted domineeringly, but sabotaging soone’s career for no reason didn’t seem like his style.
"Who else could it be but you?" Finn raised his voice, "I specifically asked, and the company said the person I offended has the last na ’Lockwood.’ Evelyn, what’s your husband’s last na, is it Lockwood?"
Upon hearing this, Evelyn’s pupils contracted sharply, and her face suddenly turned pale.
How could it be possible?
Caden Lockwood would never do such a thing!
"This..." Evelyn shook her head, "Impossible!"
"His last na is Lockwood, right?" Finn stepped closer, staring into Evelyn’s eyes, "Your husband is indeed domineering and arrogant. Maybe he couldn’t tolerate my presence and secretly decided to ss with ?"
"No way!" Evelyn didn’t believe it, "He would never do such a thing!"
"Then tell , what’s your husband’s last na?" Finn pressed on.
