Without thinking too much, Evelyn Morgan rushed straight into the music room.
The fire at the door was fierce; when she jumped in, her clothes caught fire, and she got burned. She hurriedly patted the flas on her body and quickly ran to Logan Shaw’s side.
Thick smoke billowed, choking her so much that she didn’t dare to breathe.
"Big brother, wake up!" she shouted anxiously, "Wake up! Don’t die! You haven’t even recognized yet! I haven’t told you that I’ve liked you for many, many years! I beg you, big brother, don’t die, wake up!"
She shook Logan Shaw’s body; his face was blackened by the smoke, his brows tightly knit together, showing signs of intense discomfort.
"Big brother!" Tears fell on his cheeks, she shook her head in sorrow, "Don’t die! Waaa—wake up, let’s escape together!"
However, no matter how she shouted and shook him, he didn’t wake up.
Her heart was in her throat, she looked around; the fire had spread fiercely in re seconds, and with her strength, she simply couldn’t move Logan Shaw.
"Can anyone help ?" she cried out to the outside, "Help ! I beg you! Don’t let him die!"
But the people outside just stood there, not even wanting to move forward.
The distance between inside and outside wasn’t far, yet isolated and helpless, she could only continue to shake Logan Shaw in despair.
"Evelyn?" Logan Shaw slowly opened his eyes, "Why are you..."
"You’re awake!" Evelyn Morgan’s eyes lit up, she wiped away her tears and hurriedly said, "Can you stand up? I’ll help you outside!"
"Did you rush in to save ?" Logan Shaw asked in surprise, "Do you know how dangerous this is?"
"I don’t care." She choked with sobs, shaking her head, "All I know is, you can’t die."
Upon hearing this, sothing hurriedly flashed through Logan Shaw’s mind, and his gaze toward Evelyn Morgan softened.
A voice in his heart was resolute: Can’t let her be hard!
He turned to look at the fire at the door; if they forced their way out, the danger was too great.
The wires in the room were burning, and accidentally touching them would leave no chance of survival.
Besides, he had inhaled too much smoke and truly had no strength left.
"I’ll do my best to protect you," Logan Shaw promised.
He sat up, took off his suit jacket, and draped it over Evelyn Morgan, "Quickly wrap yourself in it and run out! Watch for the wires on the ground."
"I won’t." Evelyn Morgan refused, "I’ll support you, and we’ll go out together!"
"Evelyn!"
"I ca in to save you; if I rush out alone now, why did I co in at all?" Evelyn Morgan spoke softly.
Looking at the tears on her cheeks, Logan Shaw’s heart tightened.
This girl is actually willing to risk her life for him?
He stopped being stubborn, got up, and the two looked toward the door, their eyes filled with the sa determination.
With her small body supporting his heavy fra, Evelyn Morgan gritted her teeth with effort, and together with Logan Shaw, they took one step at a ti forward.
The temperature in the music room was high; with each step closer to the door, the air they breathed was slightly fresher, but the heat on their skin felt like it was going to steam them.
Exhausted and sweating profusely, Evelyn Morgan turned her head to look at Logan Shaw and softly asked, "Are you scared?"
Actually, she was the one who was scared.
Especially with her injured hand now aching from exertion.
She felt her strength and energy were depleted, relying entirely on sheer will to push through.
"We will survive." Logan Shaw stated firmly.
Evelyn Morgan nodded, receiving imnse courage.
Even if the worst outco led to her dying here, she wouldn’t feel wronged or regretful.
At any rate, her life was originally saved by her big brother.
If he hadn’t saved her back then, she would have starved to death long ago.
To die saving him, perhaps, was a kind of karma cycle!
