A sharp itch in his palm, Mr. Lockwood desperately wanted to grab Evelyn’s neck, shake her awake, and ask about those doubts circling in his mind.
Logan Shaw stood up, walked over to Mr. Lockwood, and as they stood facing each other, both exuded an undeniable aura.
"Mr. Lockwood," Logan Shaw spoke first, "Can we talk alone?"
"No ti," Mr. Lockwood’s tone was cold and arrogant, "I’m here to watch over my wife, Second Young Master Shaw can leave now."
"Evelyn got hurt because of ," Logan Shaw looked back at Evelyn, "I want to wait until she wakes up before leaving."
"Get lost." Mr. Lockwood had completely run out of patience.
Why did his wife need Logan Shaw here, acting all heartfelt and tender?
"Although I haven’t spent much ti with Evelyn, I can tell she must have had her reasons for marrying you," Logan Shaw looked back at Mr. Lockwood, "Besides, she’s not happy."
"Logan Shaw!"
"Evelyn risked her life to save today, without her, who knows, I might have already died," Logan Shaw’s fist clenched involuntarily, "From today on, I will treat her like my own sister and won’t let anyone bully her. Including you."
Listening to Logan Shaw’s words that seed like an attempt to snatch her away, Mr. Lockwood was furious.
He had rushed over, hoping that Evelyn’s injuries would be less severe, but instead, Logan Shaw stood before him with such arrogance.
Stepping forward, Mr. Lockwood exuded a sharp and domineering aura, landing a punch squarely on Logan Shaw’s face.
"Uncle!" Evelyn scread in shock, "Why did you hit him!"
Just monts ago, she was sleeping soundly, but hearing the voices, she opened her eyes just in ti to see Mr. Lockwood punch Logan Shaw.
Logan Shaw touched the corner of his mouth, the sting was sharp, but he didn’t care.
What he heard was Evelyn calling Mr. Lockwood "Uncle."
If they were truly husband and wife, would she call her husband "Uncle"?
Logan Shaw knew sothing was off about Evelyn and Mr. Lockwood’s marriage, after all, she seed completely unaware of the marriage when it happened, she even went out of her way to explain she had nothing going on with Mr. Lockwood.
Could it be that they’re in a sham marriage?
Was Mr. Lockwood using Evelyn to avoid marriage?
Thinking of this possibility, Logan Shaw’s eyes trembled slightly,
If it was really as he suspected, Evelyn was bound to face big trouble in the future!
Mr. Lockwood narrowed his eyes and glared at Evelyn, all the care, love, and pampering swept away by deep-seated fury.
It seed as if he wanted to swallow her whole, fearlessly aggressive.
Receiving all that anger directed solely at her, Evelyn shivered intensely, recalling how she hadn’t been able to et him as promised, a trace of apology flickered in her eyes.
But why did he hit Logan Shaw?
Couldn’t he control his temper a little?
"Evelyn, are you okay? Is anything hurting or uncomfortable?" Logan Shaw expressed his concern as he moved toward Evelyn.
Mr. Lockwood drew a sharp breath, grabbed Logan Shaw, and said coldly, "You have thirty seconds to disappear."
He wanted to resolve the issue with the woman lying on the bed with a face full of bla, without anyone interrupting.
"Caden Lockwood!" Logan Shaw frowned, "What are you planning to do to Evelyn?"
"Fifteen seconds left," Mr. Lockwood’s voice was calm and steady, yet the aura he exuded demanded submission.
Evelyn’s eyes filled with intense fear, she knew Mr. Lockwood too well; if she didn’t comply when he was furious, he was definitely capable of doing sothing terrifying.
