But whenever the person stepping out of the elevator wasn’t who she wished to see, her heart would slowly sink, and her gaze would turn into a dead silence.
Everyone passing by her would glance at her.
In those glances, there was sympathy, confusion, and even deep disdain.
The slender and fragile body couldn’t withstand the assault of wind, rain, and lightning. Lightly biting her lips, the longer she stood, the more difficult it beca to breathe.

Caden Lockwood sat in his office chair, his handso face devoid of expression, his dark eyes filled with intense coldness, freezing everything his gaze touched, keeping everyone at a distance.
He couldn’t concentrate on work at all; his mind was consud with thoughts about Evelyn, wondering to what extent she would go for Logan Shaw.
After who knows how long, Sean Ashton hurried in saying, "Boss, the boss’s wife is downstairs in the rain, wanting to see you."
Earlier, he received a ssage from security saying that a woman stubbornly refused to leave, claiming to be "Mrs. Lockwood," with Caden Lockwood’s number on her phone, standing outside the company in the rain, refusing to move despite persuasion.
Security was worried sothing might happen, so they let Sean Ashton take a look.
Sean Ashton saw that it was indeed Evelyn.

"Downstairs? In the rain?" Caden Lockwood frowned, "Is she tired of living?"
