Caden Lockwood’s breath caught suddenly, feeling an overwhelming urge to see Evelyn Morgan’s expression at that mont, then pulling her into his arms to fiercely love her.
"Still not awake?" His voice was rough. "Are you being a bit too lazy?"
Hearing Caden Lockwood’s voice, Evelyn was startled, with her drowsiness mostly scared away.
The first thought that flashed through her mind was: I mustn’t let my true self be exposed in front of him!
Without worrying about why she was concerned about leaving a bad impression on him, she imdiately took a deep breath and spoke in a normal tone: "Nope! I’m up! I’ve been up for a long ti! I’ve even done an hour of exercise!"
"You exercising?" Caden clearly didn’t believe it. "Every morning when I’m up for my jog, you’re still snoring. You exercise?"
"I snore when I sleep?" Her tone was tense, with her focus completely shifted. "Really? No way? No one ever told I snore when I sleep!"
"You’ve slept with others?" Caden lowered his voice.
It was just a phone call, but she felt the chill from his words.
Evelyn shivered slightly, quickly explaining: "It’s Cece! Sotis when she’s free, we sleep together."
That feeling of talking until falling asleep, she hadn’t experienced it in a long ti.
Only then did Caden’s breath return to normal, coldly stating, "Aren’t you going to invite her to a al?"
"Why?" Evelyn was puzzled.
"To introduce ." Caden stated word by word, "A formal introduction."
Hearing those few words, Evelyn’s mind went blank.
She unconsciously gripped her phone tightly, obviously scared.
"I’ll pick you up at noon, twelve." Caden directly set the plan, "Call her and tell her, at The Crestview Hotel, in the Harmony suite."
With that, he hung up.
Listening to the "beep beep beep" from the phone, Evelyn blinked, even holding her breath.
Not until she was gasping for air did she open her mouth, taking deep breaths.
Oh my God!
He wants her to introduce him?
How to introduce?
Say he’s her... husband?
Her cheeks flushed as she lightly bit her lip, lowered her eyes, and an unconscious smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
Was this his way of... officially acknowledging their relationship?
He didn’t even ask if she agreed?
Moreover, he never said he loved her!
Her thoughts raced between anxiety and joy, with her heart pounding wildly, her mind in chaos, so much so that she decided to ignore it all.
Evelyn imdiately called Cecilia Lynch, and as soon as the call connected, she shouted, "Cece! No matter what you’re busy with this noon, you have to cancel. I’m inviting you to lunch!" Her tone was very cheerful.
Cecilia was lying in bed, having been worn out by Julian Keaton all night last night, now lacking the strength to even open her eyes.
"Can we make it tonight?" Cecilia softly asked, really not wanting to get up.
"No, it’s got to be noon!" Evelyn was anxious. "Cece, we’ve known each other for years, and I never asked you to break your work rules for . Please, just this once?"
"What’s going on?" Cecilia asked.
Evelyn couldn’t help but smile, softly saying, "Uncle Julian wants to invite you to a al!"
Thinking it over, realizing it wasn’t right, she quickly corrected, "No, no! He’s not inviting you alone! It’s just... for the confirmation of a relationship, you know, to treat friends to a al."
As she finished speaking, Evelyn’s heart leaped to her throat; she felt inexplicably excited and anxious, with her palms breaking out in a thin sweat.
