The faces of Caden Lockwood, Logan Shaw, and Julian Keaton flash back and forth in Evelyn Morgan’s mind.
However, she is completely clueless.
Evelyn sits at her desk, resting her chin on one hand, pouting distressfully, her small face wrinkling in confusion and worry.
The n around her who are of a similar age to her big brother are only these three!
Surely, she doesn’t have to consider Senior Finn Lewis, right?
Finn cos from an ordinary family, whereas her big brother’s family surely wouldn’t be modest, so Finn definitely doesn’t count.
Then, who could her big brother be?
Evelyn fruitlessly rakes her hair, pondering, unable to reach a conclusion.
Just then, Caden Lockwood’s voice suddenly rings out, "What are you thinking about so intently that you didn’t even notice I ca back?"
Evelyn jumps in surprise.
She turns back, looking at Caden, and instead of replying, she scrutinizes him carefully, trying to see if she could gather any clues.
"What’s wrong?" Caden raises an eyebrow, "Is it the first ti you’ve seen ? Or, did you miss after just a few hours apart?"
Evelyn shakes her head, sowhat listlessly.
She has gotten used to Caden’s handso face; looking at him doesn’t help her rember what her big brother looked like.
Caden steps two more paces closer to Evelyn, lifting his hand to touch her forehead.
Normal temperature.
Not suffering from a fever.
"Where do you feel uncomfortable?" Caden asks with concern.
Seeing Caden’s expression full of worry, sothing unusual flickers across Evelyn’s heart.
She shyly shrinks back a bit, then looks up at him again.
Caden clearly knows sothing is off with Evelyn, but when he asks her, she won’t speak.
She even seems to show a hint of disdain towards him.
Caden’s face darkens gradually as he watches Evelyn, trying to figure out what she intends to do.
"Uncle," Evelyn’s palm unconsciously clenches into a fist, "could you answer a question for ?"
Upon hearing this, Caden slightly raises an eyebrow.
Has Evelyn gotten smarter?
She directly asked whether he could answer before posing the question, instead of asking and then waiting for a reply.
It seems this question is very important to her.
"You can ask first," Caden’s tone is quite indulgent.
Evelyn pouts.
She knew Caden wouldn’t so easily give her a straightforward response.
"You... you know the big brother who adopted , right? Who is he?" Evelyn asks tentatively.
After all, back when Caden married her, he sought her big brother’s opinion.
Aunt May can vouch for that.
As she asks, she stares intently at Caden’s face, her eyes fixed on his, not letting any subtle change escape.
The thought that he could be her big brother sends chills down Evelyn’s spine.
Oh, please!
Dear heavens, don’t play this kind of joke on her!
Her heart can only handle so much!
A wealthy, handso man who married her, touched her, and even declared he’d spend a lifeti with her, could actually be her big brother?
She’s not that lucky, is she?
Yet, at this mont, Caden lockswood seems to be the most likely possibility.
After all, on her birthday, he was precisely at the hotel booked by her big brother for her!
Dammit!
If only she could rember more of what happened that day, she wouldn’t feel so lost now!
Evelyn’s palms start to sweat slightly without her realizing, she’s so scared she doesn’t even dare to breathe, losing the courage to maintain eye contact with Caden.
