Unconsciously, Evelyn pouted and sighed heavily, gazing into the night outside. The weather was nice, and there were plenty of stars, yet she had no interest in enjoying the view.
She waited and waited until she was so drowsy she almost fell asleep when she finally heard the sound of the bedroom door opening.
Instinctively opening her eyes, Evelyn looked towards the door. The person who returned was indeed Caden Lockwood.
Caden raised an eyebrow, "Still awake?"
Evelyn was taken aback, a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.
She couldn’t possibly admit she had been waiting for him!
"Did I wake you?" Caden continued.
Evelyn opened her mouth, wanting to say sothing, but ultimately said nothing.
She stared at him, carefully observing every expression on his face, as if trying to find evidence of his infidelity.
Caden was puzzled by Evelyn’s expression. He took off his coat, got into bed, turned off the light, and effortlessly pulled Evelyn into his arms.
Evelyn shivered, instinctively recoiling, but he held her tightly, not allowing her to escape.
His strong, powerful arms bound her tightly, leaving her no chance to struggle.
She broke into a cold sweat, all the hair on her body standing on end.
Since realizing there was no physical contact between them, she felt she could no longer interact with him as she did before.
"Sleep." Caden said in a deep voice, his tone full of exhaustion.
Evelyn bit her lip, increasingly convinced that Caden had been to another woman to vent before he returned, which was why he was so tired.
Damn it!
He ssed around with other won outside but returned pretending as if nothing happened?
"You... well... even though we’re in an... agreent marriage, can’t you at least... fulfill so of your husbandly... duties?" Evelyn’s tone was sullen.
Although the night wasn’t completely dark, Caden couldn’t fully make out Evelyn’s expression.
"I still bear the title of Mrs. Lockwood! Don’t you feel guilty for going out and seeing other won?" Evelyn asked, "Yes! I haven’t satisfied you, but... can’t you control yourself just a bit?"
Caden raised an eyebrow, staring at Evelyn, puzzled by her nonsense.
"If it was out there seducing other n, what would you think?" Evelyn’s tone wasn’t good, "You’d surely kill ! Just because I can’t beat you, you treat like I’m nothing? I..."
Before she could finish, Caden kissed her lips, silencing her.
She blinked, looking at him, cheeks flushed with deep red.
"You yourself refuse to satisfy , but won’t even let find a way to vent?" Caden coldly said, "Do you think that kind of desire can be stifled easily once it’s aroused?"
He ntally cursed her as heartless, then continued, "I was just at the gym working out until now to cool down, and you feel wronged?"
Evelyn froze, finally realizing she had been wildly overthinking!
Oh, God!
The logic was simple!
If Caden really had done sothing with another woman outside, why would he bother coming back?
He’d surely just sleep over there!
"Or is it, you think I shouldn’t go work out, but should stay here and just force myself on you?" Caden coolly remarked.
Evelyn was speechless, in the dark, looking at Caden’s handso face, her heart was racing.
"Are you... angry?" she asked softly.
